FC 24 Premier League Team of The Season Predictions

With domestic seasons now approaching their final stages we take a look at those who have excelled throughout, starting with the Premier League. With the title race still hotly contested the outcome of the final weeks could still heavily influence the side but we expect it to look similar to this.

Alisson - GK - 89 > 95 OVR

Alisson is widely referred to as the best keeper in the world as it stands and while there are strong cases for a couple of other options it's difficult to argue against the Brazilian. Despite missing parts of the tail end through injury, Alisson has still done enough to warrant a spot in this side. Liverpool maintains one of the best defences in the division and Alisson has made numerous world-class stops throughout.

Destiny Udogie - LB - 77 > 93 OVR

When it comes to LB’s in the Premier League this season there is only one name which stands out and I believe the unanimous decision is that Udogie occupies that spot. The Italian has held the position down on his debutant season in the PL, claiming headlines in the progress. I would say that the first half of the campaign was more impressive but I still believe the Italian has done enough to secure his spot.

Virgil Van Dijk - CB - 89 > 96 OVR

Three defences have stood out this season and it's all three of the top sides, all averaging one or fewer goals conceded per game. Van Dijk is at the heart of the Liverpool defence. The Dutchman continues to uphold his reputation as one of the best CBs in the world currently. With a TOTY inclusion you have to do something quite special not to then be included in your leagues TOTS and VVD’s performances have been more than good enough here.

William Saliba - CB - 83> 94 OVR

The partnership between Saliba and Gabriel has been on another level this season so it comes as no surprise that Arsenal obtain the best defensive record in the division. Will both get in only time will tell but should it be a case of one or the other I would expect the Frenchman to snatch it. There is very little to choose between them but when it comes to the game Saliba is a much more attractive option for the community.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - RB - 86 > 93 OVR

While Trent is not recording offensive numbers which we saw in previous years the Englishman’s game is getting towards the heights he was once at. There are several other candidates for this position and it could end up being dependent on the title outcome but as it stands I lean towards Trent.

Phil Foden - RM - 85 > 96 OVR

Foden has spent numerous seasons playing a rotational role for Pep’s Man City but it's safe to say that the English talent has cemented his name as one of the first on the teamsheet recently. His performances this season have been phenomenal. With fourteen goals and seven assists for City, he has been one of their main sources of goals. Can he replicate his club form this summer as England looks set to win their first major trophy since way back in 1966?

Declan Rice - CDM - 85 > 96 OVR

With a fee in the region of £100 million being paid for Rice in the summer the pressure was on him to perform. Perform is exactly what he has managed, being one of the stand-out players this season, especially outside of the offensive options. That being said Rice has had his fair share of offensive returns alongside his dominant displays in the middle of the park. With his age in consideration, the large fee paid looks to be well justified.

Rodri - CDM - 89 > 96 OVR

Both central midfield options pick themselves this season. Rodri has added attacking returns to his already amazing influence on the City side. The Spaniard claimed a spot in TOTY and with no signs of slowing down I would expect Rodri to be in or around that side for the next few years. With seven goals and six assists alongside his defensive displays, he is one of the first players to make this side.

Mohamed Salah - RW - 89 > 98 OVR

Liverpool reach the end of an era in the Summer with Klopp confirming his departure which will likely see several others follow suit. Salah is highly tipped to be one of those with the Egyptian solidifying his position as a Liverpool legend these past seven years. With 16 goals and 9 assists to his name during the current campaign, Salah inevitably sees his ninth consecutive inclusion into the TOTS promotion.

Ollie Watkins - ST - 80 > 95 OVR

Watkins has been under the radar for a few seasons but the 2023/24 campaign has seen his level rise above what many thought he was capable of. His performances for Villa have been rewarded with England call ups and with 16 goals and 10 assists domestically so far there are claims for Watkins to start during the Euros. While that is far from a guarantee his position on this side is.

Erling Haaland - ST - 91 > 97 OVR

While Haaland has slowed down in terms of his phenomenal goalscoring record, the Norwegian is still among the best strikers in the world. He leads the Premier League Golden Boot race with 18 goals from 23 appearances. Considering how much he has achieved already it's difficult to comprehend that his best years are still to come.

Kieran Trippier - RB - 85 > 92 OVR

I understand that this selection will get some hate but let me explain myself. While Newcastle have somewhat flopped this season Trippier has been a consistent threat down the right-hand flank. When a defender has the joint-highest assists in the division can you really ignore him? While Newcastle have not repeated their defensive prowess of last season I think Trippier clinches it on paper stats alone.

Gabriel - CB - 84 > 92 OVR

You would be forgiven to presume that Gabriel is approaching the end of his career but the Brazilian is only 26. Arsenal’s defence looks set for the next few seasons, and with how they perform, Arteta has no reason to change it up. Not only has Gabriel contributed to the best defence in the division but offensively chips in as well with the central defender managing four goals this campaign.

Douglas Luiz - CM - 79 > 92 OVR

Aston Villa have easily been the surprise package from the Premier League this season with the Birmingham-based side still competing for a Champions League position. Two players especially have stood out for them, Watkins has already been mentioned while the other is Douglas Luiz. The Brazilian has it all with dominant displays from the middle of the park topped off with multiple goal contributions. With nine goals and five assists Luiz, it's no surprise that other clubs are keeping a keen eye on him.

Cole Palmer - CAM - 66 > 94 OVR

Arguments can be made for Palmer’s position in this side with the Englishman being deployed all over the attack this season for Chelsea. I would say more games have been central (CAM/CF/ST) than out on the right though so I am punting the CAM role. The youngster has excelled since leaving Man City and quickly became Chelsea’s main man. With 13 goals and 8, it's been a dream debut season as a blue.

Bukayo Saka - RW - 86 > 95 OVR

There were a few raised eyebrows upon my inclusion of Saka midway through the season. His second half of the campaign has seen him add significantly more goals to his name. Now sitting on thirteen goals and eight assists, Saka is an easy selection for this side, despite several other strong candidates for the right side already.

Dominic Solanke- ST - 75 > 93 OVR

Without Solanke’s contribution to this Bournemouth side, their fate would likely have been sealed with relegation from the PL this season. Solanke has excelled though, winning his side multiple points. With sixteen goals to his name, he is only two behind the leading goalscorer. Which for a club sitting in 11th is quite something.

Heung Min Son - ST - 87 > 95 OVR

With the majority of Son’s appearances coming from the ST role, I would expect EA to opt for that position when it comes to his TOTS card. Although in terms of goals alone, Son would be a fringe option, you only have to watch the PL to see his contribution to Tottenham's side. With Kane now in Munich, Son is their main threat going forward and he has taken that role on perfectly.
