The newest addition to FC is here… Rush:5v5. FC 25 will see a brand new game mode included into the title, being playable across 3 already existing modes - Ultimate Team, Clubs and Career Mode.

Rush is EA Sports’ take on the small side 5v5 social football experience, while harnessing the same gameplay controls and football mechanics of 11v11. Teams consisting of 5 players each compete across a much smaller playing field with slight rule changes.

Ultimate Team Rush

Rush will be included into Ultimate Team and is a way for you to earn rewards for your 11 a side squad, in a fun and new experience. Choose your favourite player from your Ultimate Team and combine with 3 other friends to compete against others. In Ultimate Team Rush each Rush team will consist of 5 players: 4 user-controlled outfield players and 1 AI goalkeeper. Despite the goalkeeper being AI controlled, the team captain can still perform actions such as rushing to the ball or their movement. The goalkeeper for each team has the same height, attributes and PlayStyles to ensure a fair matchup.

You can choose any player from your Ultimate Team club to play with but your selection will dictate how many bonus points you unlock! More Ultimate Team Rush information will come later on with their Deep Dive!

Kick Off

A new Kick Off style will be introduced into Rush, players will experience the exhilarating Race to Ball. Two ball launchers are positioned at opposite ends of the halfway line. At the beginning of each game, one of these launchers will randomly propel the ball with varying power and height, creating an element of unpredictability. Better get selecting players with pace if you want to win the initial kick off!

Pitch Changes

The Rush pitch will be more than 40% smaller than the standard 11-a-side pitch. This smaller, more "square" pitch shape is designed to encourage lateral passing and maintains adequate width that helps prevent the playing area from feeling too narrow. Two dotted lines mark each third of the pitch, indicating the points at which the offside rules start to apply. Goal post dimensions remain the same as those in 11v11 football, providing a familiar target for players.

The Offside rule will also be changing for Rush. It will follow the same rule as 11 a side offside, but you can only be offside in the final third…

Blue Cards

In Rush, there are no red cards. Instead, players who commit a serious foul or deny a goal-scoring opportunity receive a blue card and are sidelined for 1 minute. The blue card timer below the sanctioned player’s name pauses for out-of-play moments and decreases by 15 seconds for each goal conceded by their team.

MLS Penalties

If a match ends in a draw, it will initially be taken to Golden Goal but if neither team can find a winner the match will be decided by 1vs1 penalties.

Live Chat

A new Quick Chat feature will be added to all online locked-to-player modes. This social feature is intended to promote team communication and camaraderie through simple, quick messages. Using the directional buttons, players can easily send messages like "Nice", "Thanks", "Sorry", and "Unlucky" to their teammates.

Who will you be teaming up with in Rush?
