A brand new promo has just dropped in EAFC 25 today and it is the Globetrotters Promo. A celebration of stars from around the footballing world featuring increased Chemistry with Club, Nation, and League. The bonus here, all of these items are giving 2 chem points. Some incredible items here with Cristiano Ronaldo sneaking into the lineup.
For the SBC section however, we are getting hit right in the feels as an End of an Era card is among us and it is none other than Nani. Someone grab me a cheeky Kaylor Navas because this SBC is getting completed on the nostalgia alone.
Now this is a huge upgrade for Nani as his base item is a Silver. But overall he has been given a +17 up to 90 rated, the Trickster Playstyle+ with massive boosts across the board. It’s just a shame that this item doesn’t also give off chem boosts as unfortunately he will be a little hard to link as his club Estrela Amadora does not have a single card above a silver card type. So it’s straight to picking up a Ricardo Carvalho for me!
For Chemstyle here I have opted for the Finisher. I was a little torn as I was initially unsure of what position I would like to play him as he can play LW/LM & ST. So I figured I would do a mix of it and so I wanted a nice boost to the Passing and Shooting. Alternatively, the Hunter is a very popular option for this card.
Here are the following segments to unlock the End of an Era Nani SBC:
# of players from Portugal: Min 1
Squad Rating: Min 84
# of players in squad: 11
Squad Rating: Min 85
# of players in squad: 11
Squad Rating: Min 85
# of players in squad: 11
Squad Rating: Min 87
# of players in squad: 11
Only 4 segments to complete this SBC and all in all not very expensive either. Coming in at shy of 200k to complete, I can’t help but wonder if that is solely due to the fact that this card won’t be easy to link and players will struggle to squeeze him into their squad. Of course, that’s if you haven’t got the likes of Eusebio in your corner. But the community is feeling positive about this SBC so far so it all comes down to how he performs in-game.
How did he perform in-game?
+ Dribbling was by far the best thing about this card. He knows how to maneuver with the ball well and if you can utilize the trickster playstyle, the opposition will struggle to regain possession.
+ Passing on this card was also really good, especially when whipping in crosses as he has relatively high crossing but almost maxed out curve stat. He also played some thread-the-needle-like through balls that created great goal-scoring opportunities
/ Pace on this card wasn’t anything special and I believe it is due to the split between acceleration and sprint speed. He’s quick to start running but seems to be caught up easily.
/ Shooting was okay, he can put a lot of power on the ball but the finishing was kind of average for a forward player.
- Despite the higher strength he seemed to get forced off the ball often by the bigger defenders. So you will need to rely on using skill moves a lot of the time to break past the defensive wall
Nani - Cop or Flop?
This Nani card was incredibly fun to play with. I think that the higher-skilled players will certainly enjoy this one, especially if you can utilize the more complex skill moves and trickster playstyle. Unfortunately, I do not fall into that bracket. But he is still a very fun card to use and is incredibly effective on the ball.
I wouldn’t recommend using this card at Striker. He was a lot more of a threat on the wing as his stats are far more suited for that position. I don’t believe this will be a “meta” item but I do believe he can compete in squads at a high level. My biggest issue with this card though is how difficult it is to link if you don’t own a Eusebio, a cluster of Icons or maybe even certain Evo’d cards that could provide the links. But if you can manage to get this card into your squad then he is certainly going to be a notable upgrade for many. This one is worth a pickup, even if just for the nostalgia. If only we still had a Keylor Navas item to link him up with one last time.
Verdict = COP
