Team of The Year 12th Player Vote

Team of The Year is well and truly underway, the full team will presumably be in packs from Thursday and coming Friday will be the 12th player for both the Men’s and Women’s team. The vote is now live in game and if you’re unsure who to choose, then read on. I’ll give you a run down of what each player has achieved over the past year to help you decide!

12th Woman Nominees

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw - Manchester City 

Bunny Shaw scores goals. She’s been amongst the best strikers in the world since joining Manchester City but 2024 was where she really showed it. She won the WSL Golden Boot whilst also leading the league for combined Goals and Assists with 24.

Lindsey Horan - Olympique Lyonnais

2024 was a big year for Horan, not only in terms of achievements but also contribution. From midfield she recorded 15 Goals across the year and chipped in with 3 assists for both Lyon and the USWNT.

Giulia Gwinn - FC Bayern Munich

A very impressive year for Gwinn at the back for Bayern Munich and Germany. In 32 games she kept clean sheets in 16 of those which helped Bayern retain the Bundesliga and led Germany to medal at the Paris Olympics.

Florian Wirtz - Bayer Leverkusen

2024 not only saw Bayer Leverkusen win their first ever Bundesliga trophy, but they also did it unbeaten, the first team to do so. One of their key men was Florian Wirtz, who led the team for combined Goals and Assists

Jeremie Frimpong - Bayer Leverkusen 

When comparing years between Wirtz and Frimpong, there’s not much that separates them. They were both key in Leverkusen's achievements in 2024 with Frimpong having the edge slightly with a Euro Semi Final over a Quarter, although he rarely featured.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo always seems to find his way into a Team of The Year (aside from FIFA 23). Al Nassr missed out on the Saudi Pro League title, but Ronaldo did take home the Golden Boot with 35 Goals.
