FC 25 Team of The Year vs First Ultimate Team Card

The full Team of The Year is now in packs! But they weren’t always the best in the world, they all had to start somewhere. We’re going to run through how each of the FC 25 Team of The Year started their Ultimate Team journey!

Emi Martinez - (59 > 94)

Argentina’s World Cup hero from 2022 finally makes his way into a Team of The Year and if it wasn’t for Neal Maupay he would be here. A huge 35 jump from his base card at Arsenal back in FIFA 13. 

Dani Carvajal - (70 > 95)

The Real Madrid Right Back has only ever had one Ultimate Team away from Real Madrid and that was his first, as a 70 rated at Bayer Leverkusen. It may have been his first appearance in Ultimate Team but he did make his way into the Bundesliga Team of The Season, as a 74 Rated.

William Saliba - (56 > 95)

We’re 3 for 3 on Team of The Year debuts and William Saliba has the highest jump from his first card to Team of The Year. A MASSIVE 39 rating increase from his early days at Saint-Etienne to now being one of the best defenders in the league. 

Virgil van Dijk - (71 > 96) 

Is it a 2020s Team of The Year if it doesn't include Virgil van Dijk? The Dutchman makes yet another appearance in a TOTY and has come a long way since his FIFA 13 days. Who’d have thought this 71 rated Groningen defender would make it into all of these TOTY’s. 

Alejandro Grimaldo - (67 > 94) 

After an unbeaten Bundesliga season we kind of expected more than one Leverkusen player in the XI but it’s just the one in Alex Grimaldo. Started his Ultimate Team career back in the Barcelona academy in FIFA 14. 

Rodri - (70 > 97)

Rodrigo Cascante Hernandez. Ballon d’Or Winner. He may have been injured towards the back end of the year but there was never any doubt he’d make his way into the Team of The Year. +27 from his first UT card with Villarreal. 

Cole Palmer - (63 > 95)

The kid has come a long way since his debut year in FIFA 22. Bronze to a Team of The Year in three years is crazy work. Maybe Pep should’ve kept him…

Jude Bellingham - (69 > 97)

There has been more years where Jude has been included in Team of The Year than years he hasn’t. FC 25 is his 3rd consecutive TOTY appearance, jumping from a 95, to 96 to 97 in each year. 

Mohamed Salah - (74 > 96)

It’s unbelievable that FC 25 is Mo Salah’s first appearance in a Team of The Year, he’s been one of the best in the world for years and has arguably deserved more than just the one TOTY. 

Kylian Mbappe - (71 > 96)

8 Years on from Kylian Mbappe Lottin we have his 7th Team of The Year and his first at Real Madrid. May not have performed the best since joining Madrid, but with a fan vote it was only going to end one way.

Vini Jr - (77 > 97)

The only player in the FC 25 Team of The Year who started out their UT journey as a base gold. A +20 on his FIFA 19 card on his debut season at Real Madrid.
