With no fewer than seven players having previously featured in TOTW, there are plenty of exciting upgrades this week. Whether it's Biereth’s continued form, a highly impressive Sarr card, or a featured Maguire, there are several great options to look forward to.
Marius Muller - GK - 74 > 87 OVR
Six saves / Werder Bremen 1 - Wolfsburg 2 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
There were only a couple of goalkeeper options this week, with the best one, Petrovic, ruled out due to a Fantasy FC card. That leaves Müller as the next best option, having earned a 1.5 rating from Kicker, making him the goalkeeper of the week in Germany. He made six saves in total, helping Wolfsburg battle their way to a 2-1 away win.
Marc Cucurella - LB - 82 > 87 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Chelsea 4 - Southampton 0 / 8 Sky Rating
Chelsea were in need of a comfortable win, and thankfully for them, they hosted Southampton. There were a few options from the 4-0 win, but it was Cucurella who was named MOTM, making him the favourite for me.
Ronald Araujo - CB - 85 > 87 OVR
Goal, assist and clean sheet / Barcelona 4 - Real Sociedad 0 / 8.5 Sofascore Rating
Both Araújo promotional items will set you back some serious coins, but a cheaper version could be set to appear on Wednesday. With a goal and an assist alongside a clean sheet, he stands out as Barcelona take pole position in La Liga.
Harry Maguire - CB - 80 > 87 OVR
One goal / Man United 3 - Ipswich 2 / 9 Sky Rating
It was an interesting match with Man United hosting Ipswich, which saw a horror performance from Dorgu, who made an error for Ipswich’s opener before then seeing red in the first half. United remained strong at the back and a threat from set pieces, with all three goals coming
from them. Maguire scored what turned out to be the winner, earning a strong 9/10 for his performance.
Robin Hack - LM - 76 > 87 OVR
Two goals / Heidenheim 0 - Gladbach 3 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
Featured IF options were limited, with most candidates already having a previous promotional item. Hack stands out as a strong contender, as he has no other special card, making his chances of being a featured player high. The German scored twice in Gladbach’s 3-0 away win over Heidenheim.
Ismaila Sarr - CAM - 79 > 88 OVR
Two goals / Crystal Palace 4 - Aston Villa 1 / 9 Sky Rating
After already receiving a featured IF, this SIF looks extremely good. Sarr gets the selection after scoring twice to help Palace record an impressive 4-1 home win over Fulham. It's quite the turnaround from Palace, who now have 28 points from their last 15.
Isco - CAM - 82 > 86 OVR
One goal, one assist / Real Betis 2 - Real Madrid 1 / 8.7 Sofascore Rating
Isco was snubbed for an IF last week, but he continued his form as Real Betis shocked Real Madrid, recording a 2-1 win to put a huge dent in Madrid’s title hopes. The Spaniard was once again crucial for Betis, with both a goal and an assist seeing him named MOTM.
Riccardo Orsolini - RM - 81 > 87 OVR
Two goals / Bologna 2 - Cagliari 1 / 7.5 Sofascore Rating
EA have been somewhat reluctant to diminish promotional cards, but with Orsolini’s being a Thunderstruck and cheap, I don’t think there is an issue with this one. The Italian scored both of Bologna’s goals as they battled to a 2-1 home win.
Luis Suarez - ST - 82 > 87 OVR
One goal, three assists / Houston 1 - Inter Miami 4 / 9.1 Sofascore Rating
We start off the strikers with a popular name in Suárez. The Uruguayan is still finding himself among the goals, with regular offensive contributions at 38. His latest performance saw a goal and three assists as Inter Miami recorded a 4-1 away win.
Ivan Toney - ST - 80 > 87 OVR
Hat trick / Al-Hilal 2 - Al-Ahli 3 / 8.5 Sofascore Rating
Al-Hilal couldn’t really afford to drop any more points with Al-Ittihad gaining quite the lead at the top of the table, but a Toney hat-trick resulted in another loss for them this weekend, which could easily be the final blow. Toney has been snubbed on numerous occasions, but with his first hat-trick, this should be the week he finally makes it.
Mika Biereth - ST - 68 > 87 OVR
Hat trick / Monaco 3 - Reims 0 / 9 L’equipe Rating
Biereth’s superb form since joining Monaco continued as he took home yet another match ball after scoring all three goals against Reims. It’s just a four-week gap between this potential IF and his SIF, but it’s a gap that’s possible.
Substitutes
Robin Gosens - LB - 79 > 85 OVR
One goal and clean sheet / Fiorentina 1 - Lecce 0 / 7 Gazzetta Rating
Gosens scored the only goal of the game as Fiorentina secured a narrow 1-0 win over Lecce. The German was named MOTM with a modest 7 rating from Gazzetta. With limited defensive options this week, a defender with a goal and a clean sheet seems difficult to overlook.
Nadiem Amiri - CM - 78 > 85 OVR
One goal, one assist / Leipzig 1 - Mainz 2 / 2 Kicker Rating
Amiri stood out as Mainz shocked Leipzig, claiming all three points away from home. The German was involved in both goals, scoring once and assisting the other to be named MOTM. Bundesliga options were mostly fringe this week, but at least three should make the final selection.
Salem Al Dawsari - LM - 80 > 85 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Al-Hilal 5 - Al-Kholood 1 / 10 Sofascore Rating
Some sides seem to be ignored from the Saudi division, while others get in with minimal fuss. Al-Hilal is one of those sides, and with Al-Dawsari being involved in three of their five goals, he looks to be an easy selection for this week's side.
Salma Paralluelo - LW - 79 > 85 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Eibar 1 - Barcelona 8 / 9.8 Sofascore Rating
Another week, another heavy Barcelona win. Eibar were the recipients of the thrashing, conceding eight times. Several Barcelona players are in with a shout, but it's the criminally underrated Paralluelo who stands out for me with two goals and an assist.
Desire Doue - CM - 76 > 86 OVR
One goal, one assist / PSG 4 - Lille 1 / 8 L’equipe Rating
Ligue 1 offered very little when it came to IF candidates for various reasons. However, this means that those predicted have a stronger chance of making the final selection, as EA will face the same issues. PSG should receive an IF after beating Lille 4-1. Dembélé has been snubbed so many times recently, so I am going for Doué instead, who scored once and assisted another from CM.
Melvin Malard - ST - 82 > 86 OVR
One goal, one assist / Manchester United 2 - Leicester 0 / 8.5 Sofascore Rating
The WSL is usually represented each week, so I’m taking a punt on Malard. Leading the line for United, she scored once and provided an assist in their 2-0 win over Leicester.
Alexandre Lacazette - ST - 82 > 87 OVR
Two goals / Lyon 2 - Brest 1 / 7 L’equipe Rating
While Lacazette missed out on L’Equipe’s TOTW, he was still named MOTM in Lyon’s 2-1 win over Brest, scoring both goals. With limited striker options available, EA will likely have to take a gamble, and a brace from a striker seems the most logical choice.
Reserves

Two goals / Motherwell 2 - Dundee 1 / 9.5 Sofascore Rating

Judith Coquet - CM - 63 > 85 OVR
Hat trick / Reims 2 - Montpellier 4 / 8.8 Sofascore Rating
Alex Sala - CM - 64 > 85 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Cordoba 5 - Granada 0 / 9.1 Sofascore Rating
