FC 25 Team of The Week 29 Predictions

ByAaron

There was a severe lack of big names available for this week's side, especially if EA opts to ignore the World Cup qualifiers, which is a possibility. I have opted to include a couple, however. Headlining, we have the likes of Ødegaard, Fernández, Dimarco, and a third IF for Beerensteyn.

Matheus - GK - 79 > 85 OVR

One assist and clean sheet  /  PSV 0 - Ajax 2  /  7 VI Rating

We saw a similar inclusion with Ederson recently. There were minimal options for goalkeepers this week, so with Matheus providing an assist in a crucial match, I’m leaning towards his inclusion. Ajax took control of the Eredivisie title race with a 2-0 win over PSV. While there were no standout candidates, I can’t see the match being ignored.

Federico Dimarco - LB - 84 > 87 OVR

Two assists  /  Inter 2 - Udinese 1  /  7 Gazzetta Rating

There were a lot of low-scoring matches in Italy this week, so I would expect to see a couple of players included out of necessity. One who won’t need to be forced in, however, is Dimarco. The Italian provided the assist for both goals during Inter's 2-1 win at home to Udinese. With all his previous promotional inclusions coming as a LB, I expect the same for his IF.

Aldana Cometti - CB - 79 > 87 OVR

One goal, one assist and clean sheet  /  Madrid 2 - Betis 0  /  9.4 Sofascore Rating

There were numerous standout performances in the women's game this week. Cometti was among them, providing both a goal and an assist from centre-back as Madrid secured a 2-0 home win over Betis.

Dilane Bakwa - RB - 75 > 86 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Strasbourg 4 - Lyon 2 - 8 L’equipe Rating

This match could have significant implications for the European positions at the end of the season, and it was Strasbourg who came out on top with an entertaining 4-2 win. Bakwa was named MOTM after providing both a goal and an assist. His previous IF was given as a RM but L’equipehave him listed as a RB this week so thats what I will opt for.

Lineth Beerensteyn - LW - 83 > 89 OVR

Four goals  /  Wolfsburg 5 - Essen 1  /  9.2 Sofascore Rating

This would be Beerensteyn’s third IF of the season, and what a performance to earn it. With four goals to her name, she led Wolfsburg to a convincing 5-1 home win over Essen. A very strong-looking TIF as well.

Beth Mead - RM - 88 > 89 OVR

Two goals  /  Palace 0 - Arsenal 4  /  9.3 Sofascore Rating

With no Premier League action this week, I would expect the female leagues to each receive an IF. For the WSL, Mead seems to be the best option, having scored twice from RM in a comfortable 4-0 away win.

Martin Odegaard - RM - 89 > 90 OVR

Three assists  /  Israel 2 - Norway 4  /  9.5 Sofascore Rating

With some World Cup qualification matches still being played midweek, I can see them being counted towards TOTW 29. If so, Ødegaard is a great option, having supplied three assists for Norway as they battled to a 4-2 away win over Israel.

Michael Olise - RM - 82 > 87 OVR

Two assists  /  Munich 3 St. Pauli 2  /  1.5 Kicker Rating

I don’t think we all realised just how good Olise was for Palace last season. His move to Munich has been a great success, with the Frenchman now making the wing his own. It was another superb performance this weekend, with his two assists earning him MOTM in a narrow 3-2 win.

Ayoze Perez - ST - 79 > 87 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Getafe 1 - Villarreal 2  /  8.6 Sofascore Rating

It looks set to be a very close battle between Villarreal and Real Betis to decide who claims Europa League or Conference League football next season. Villarreal took another step towards the former with a 2-1 away win over Getafe. Ayoze Pérez was involved in both goals, scoring once and providing an assist.

Maximilian Beier - ST - 78 > 87 OVR

Two goals  /  Dortmund 3 - Mainz 1  /  Kicker POTW

Both Beier and Schlotterbeck excelled in this match, with Beier scoring twice while Schlotterbeck provided two assists. With Kicker officially awarding Beier both MOTM and POTW, it would be surprising if the IF went any other way.

Enzo Fernandez - ST - 82 > 88 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Argentina 4 - Brazil 1  /  9.0 Sofascore Rating

Argentina demonstrated the current quality gap between themselves and Brazil with a comfortable 4-1 win, solidifying their position at the top of the qualification group. Enzo Fernández played a more advanced role and could even be classified as a striker, but his goal and assist saw him named MOTM during the convincing display.

Substitutes

Cesar Azpilicueta - LB - 79 > 85 OVR

One goal  /  Espanyol 1 - Atletico Madrid 1  /  7.9 Sofascore Rating

Atlético Madrid will be disappointed with their 1-1 away draw against Espanyol, as their title chances continue to diminish due to dropped points. Azpilicueta scored their only goal, and with a lack of defensive options this week, it could be enough for him to be included.

Carles Gil - CAM - 79 > 85 OVR

Two goals  /  New England 2 - NYRB 1  /  9 Sofacore Rating

New England have been in awful form lately, so a 2-1 win over NYRB comes at a crucial time. Gil scored both goals, making him the best MLS option this week. With the league often receiving generous inclusions from EA, the Spaniard seems like a logical choice.

Joao Mario - CAM - 80 > 85 OVR

Two assists  /  Besiktas 2 - Galatasaray 1  /  8.3 Sofascore Rating

Beşiktaş reopened the title race by taking points off Galatasaray this weekend, who were six points clear before this match. Mario provided the assist for both Beşiktaş goals, with the result significantly boosting their European qualification hopes.

Mathias Pereira Lage - LW - 75 > 87 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Toulouse 2 - Brest 4 - 8 L’equipe Rating

Ligue 1 was rather underwhelming in terms of standout performances this week, as the players receiving 8/10 ratings were not from the usual top sides. Lage fell into that category, playing a key role in Brest’s 4-2 away win over Toulouse. With both a goal and an assist, L’Équipe awarded him the joint-highest rating of the week.

Matteo Politano - RW - 80 > 85 OVR

One goal  /  Napoli 2 - AC Milan 1  /  7 Gazzetta Rating

I expect Serie A to receive a random inclusion or two. Politano scored just once, but with this being a high-profile match and the need for Serie A inclusions, I think he is a strong candidate.

Ashley Hatch - ST - 82 > 86 OVR

Two goals  /  Washington 2 - Bay FC 0  /  8.4 Sofascore Rating

The return of the NWSL has seen several IFs in the two weeks they have been eligible. With Hatch scoring twice in a 2-0 win, I expect that trend to continue, especially with limited divisions in action this week.

Rey Manaj - ST - 76 > 86 OVR

Two goals, two assists  /  Sivasspor 5 - Adana 1  /  10 Sofascore Rating

Rey Manaj played a key role in Sivasspor's 5-1 home win, registering two goals and two assists. It was an important victory for Sivasspor, who now sit outside the relegation zone on goal difference thanks to these three points.

Reserves

Felix Agu - LB - 72 > 85 OVR

One goal and clean sheet  /  Kiel 0 - Werder Bremen 3  /  2 Kicker Rating

Feli Delacauw - RM - 70 > 85 OVR

Hat trick  /  Potsdam 0 - Hoffenheim 7  /  9.8 Sofascore Rating

Zoran Mitrov - LM - 57 > 85 OVR

Hat trick  /  Botosani 4 - Constanta 3  /  9.8 Sofascore Rating

David Toshevski - ST - 61 > 85 OVR

Hat trick  /  Hartberg 2 - Klagenfurt 3  /  8.9 Sofascore Rating

Lorena Azzaro - ST - 70 > 85 OVR

Two goals, two assists  /  Strasbourg 6 - Guingamp 0  /  9.4 Sofascore Rating
