FUTBIN Community Team of The Season

Team of The Season is on its way and to kick it off, we’re looking at the FUTBIN Community Team of The Season. These are the players who have put in the hard yards for you in FC 25 and really made a difference to your team. The team selection is simple, the player with the most matches played gets the starting spot. Each player has been picked based on their primary position only, so despite Mbappe having more games played than our left winger, it’s a secondary position so misses out.

GK - Thibaut Courtois - 26,867,000 Games

Collectively, Courtois cards have over 50,000,000 games played in FC 25, with his Track Stars version being the 2nd most used keeper with around 25,000,000 games played. If he’s not in your team and saving your Champs weekend, he’s definitely stopped your attack from scoring. At 6ft7 it’s easy to see why he makes the team.

RB - Jules Kounde - 17,142,000 Games

In any other year we’d be expecting Kyle Walker to be taking top spot, but with him reaching the end of his career, his UT cards have also seen a slight decline. Kounde stepped up this year and has been the most used RB with 17,000,000 matches played, although we do think most of these will be in the centre of defence.

CB - Virgil van Dijk - 36,704,000 Games

Shock, Virgil van Dijk is the most used CB in FC 25. In fact he’s not just the most used CB, but the most used player and clears Courtois in 2nd place by more than 10,000,000 games. I would say let’s leave van Dijk in FC 25, but he’s been terrorizing us for years and we’d expect nothing less in FC 26.

CB - William Saliba - 26,158,000 Games

After receiving a huge upgrade from FC 24, it was clear to see that Saliba was going to be a problem this year, and you guys have not let us down. More than 26,000,000 games with the Arsenal man this season, and that’s just his base card. With Arsenal and Saliba having another incredible year we can’t help but feel an even better card is on the way for Saliba next year.

LB - Ferland Mendy - 20,925,000 Games

This isn’t too much of a shock, but there was another French left back that could have been in contention here. Theo only racked up 13,000,000 games this year, mainly because he hasn’t dropped below 150k all year. Ferland Mendy has been the go to choice for Left Backs this year, with more than 20,000,000 games played in FC 25.

CM - Jude Bellingham - 19,795,000 Games

Our third and final Real Madrid player in the team is Jude Bellingham. Jude is the most used midfielder in FC 25 with just short of 20,000,000 matches on his base item. With an extremely well rounded card, it’s easy to see why Jude has been a favourite option in the community.

CM - Frenkie de Jong - 17,502,000 Games

Yet another La Liga addition to the team in the way of Frenkie de Jong. The Barca man has been incredibly liked by the players in FC 25 and is the 2nd most used midfielder with 17,500,000 matches played.

CM - Alexia Putellas - 14,417,000 Games

Our final midfielder is the only female player in the team, it’s two time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas. You’ve used her base card for 14,000,000 games in both FC 24 and FC 25 so it wouldn’t be a surprise if we see her in our FC 26 Most Used team this time next year.

RW - Mohamed Salah - 23,201,000 Games

Salah has carried Liverpool this season just as much as he’s carried your Ultimate Team. 23,000,000 games played for the Egyptian in FC 25 and that’s just his base card, there are 8 more Salah cards that also have plenty of games to their name this year. With a guaranteed TOTS card on its way, we’re sure we’ll be seeing plenty more of Mo this year.

ST - Antoine Griezmann - 21,538,000 Games

The most used Striker in FC 25 is base Griezmann, with Finesse+ it’s clear he was an early favourite and has done the job for the entire year. With solid links to both Mendy and Kounde, it’s clear to see the foundations for everyone's early teams. Heung Min Son did come in a close 2nd with just shy of 21,000,000 games played.

LW - Nico Williams - 15,652,000 Games

Both Mbappe and Foden do have more games played than Nico, but as the LW position isn’t their main, they don’t make the squad. After an incredible Euro 2024 campaign, we were gifted an incredible Nico Williams card and it’s one that’s been a mainstay in teams throughout the year. 15,000,000 games played for the Spaniard.
