FC 25 Ligue 1 Team of The Season Predictions

With PSG dominating the division, sitting unbeaten and twenty-one points clear at the top of Ligue 1, it comes as no surprise to see them dominate this prediction. We have familiar faces with Marquinhos and Dembele mixed in with some new stars in the making, with both Barcola and Biereth standing out.

Dorde Petrovic - GK - 79 > 92 OVR

Petrovic is probably the keeper Chelsea have been missing this season but they decided to loan him out to Strasbourg and he has not looked back since. With nine clean sheets he is amongst the front runners for the Golden Glove race while also making a lot of saves with 97 in total. The goalkeeper selection for this division is probably the most difficult one to make this year with several in with a chance while none specifically stand out as a favourite. Petrovic is my choice though.

Nuno Mendes - LB - 83 > 95 OVR

PSG have the best defensive record in the division with 26 conceded from 28 so it makes sense that we include a couple of their defenders in this prediction. The most obvious one comes with Mendes. The Portuguese defender is in the conversation for the best left-backs in the world right now let alone his division. At just twenty-two years of age there is a lot of Mendes to come.

Marquinhos - CB - 87 > 94 OVR

While I think you can make an argument for Pacho to be included over Marquinhos, the Brazilian's name alone holds a lot of weight, especially with Ligue 1 losing some hype with big name players like Mbappe leaving the division. PSG have that forementioned best defensive record in the division and Marquinhos brings the experience in what is otherwise a young backline. A Ligue 1 TOTS without Marquinhos just would not seem right.

Thilo Kehrer - CB - 76 > 92 OVR

No side has come close to PSG this year but when it comes to TOTS the likes of Monaco will still be significantly included. Kehrer is the first selected from the club with four goals from the back standing out. There were limited central defensive options, so the goal tally may be what pushes Kehrer over the line here.

Jonathan Clauss - RB - 80 > 93 OVR

While strictly speaking, the RB should be Hakimi’s position, with EA continuing to snub him from every promotion going I would expect the same to occur here. Clauss would have probably made the bench regardless but now his position is practically guaranteed with the Hakimi situation ongoing. Nice are down in seventh but their defensive record has been respectable. Clauss often records a lot of attacking returns and this year was no different with three goals and seven assists going the Frenchman's way.

Bradley Barcola - LW - 80 > 96 OVR

PSG often produce numerous young talents and this season has taken that one step further with a plethora of them making their mark on the big stage. Barcola was around last season but it’s this campaign where things have really taken off. With thirteen goals and nine assists he walks into this side, just like many other PSG players after they dominated the division once again.

Joao Neves - CM - 79 > 94 OVR

Neves has the ability to become one of the best central midfielders in the world. The Portuguese CM moved to PSG from Benfica this summer and his performances have seen him become a regular in that Paris midfield. Neves has registered three goals and eight assists while his defensive side of the game should not be overlooked either with 55 tackles putting him up there with a lot of the top defenders.

Denis Zakaria - CDM - 79 > 91 OVR

With so much attacking talent in this side it is easy to overlook the more defensive options. Usually there are a couple included in each league's TOTS and I feel Zakaria deserves to be one of them in Ligue 1's side. The Swiss international provides excellent cover for Monaco's backline but also contributes going forward when needed. Zakaria is regularly part of the TOTS conversation and this year is no different.

Ousmane Dembele - RW - 86 > 96 OVR

With the absence of Mbappe this season PSG really needed someone to fill that role. Dembele has been phenomenal. In previous seasons, goals have not been the Frenchman’s strong point but he is currently the top goalscorer this season and by quite some distance. With twenty-one goals and five assists, Dembele will go on to be named player of the season and is a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or.

Arnaud Kalimuendo - ST - 77 > 92 OVR

It has been another average season for Rennes but one player who has stood out throughout is Kalimuendo. The Frenchman currently has fourteen goals to his name, making him the joint third-highest goalscorer. When you consider that Rennes are currently mid-table, that is an impressive number to record.

Mika Biereth - ST - 68 > 93 OVR

Yes Biereth only joined Monaco over the winter but his performances have been ludicrous. With twelve goals from his opening twelve matches the Danish talent has been an instant star. We have seen players in the past who have joined a division in January still feature in their division's TOTS and some have done far less than Biereth, who was also highly impressive in the first half of the year with Sturm Graz.

Substitutes

Rayan Cherki - RM - 75 > 94 OVR

Cherki is another player who has played in numerous positions this season but with more games coming from the right side than centrally, I lean towards that being the position EA opt for. Cherki has made numerous cameos off the bench but has always been a threat for Lyon. Recording eight goals and nine assists he should be making this side.

Andrey Santos - CM - 73 > 92 OVR

Andrey Santos is yet another player under the books of Chelsea. With his performances standing out in Ligue 1 there are plenty of questions surrounding his future. It looks as though Chelsea are open to selling the Brazilian and if that’s the case I am sure numerous clubs will come knocking. Santos recorded nine goals and three assists from the centre of the park, becoming one of the standout players in Ligue 1 this season.

Mason Greenwood - CAM - 79 > 91 OVR

Had Greenwood not received a promotion inclusion this season so far I would have been inclined to ignore him but with a POTM inclusion it does show that they are willing to include him in promotions and with that in mind he is a stand out contender for a spot in TOTS. With sixteen goals and three assists the Englishman has excelled since moving to France. You cannot really ignore the second-highest scorer in the division regardless of the situation.

Jonathan David - ST - 81 > 93 OVR

There were a handful of options for this bench striker position but I lean towards David due to the hype factor. With David often being a popular player throughout games his familiarity gives him the edge over some of the other strikers with similar records. Even if EA opt for a different route I would expect David to then feature as a moments card instead for example. The Canadian has fourteen goals and three assists

SBC/Objective/Moment

Willian Pacho - CB - 78 > 90 OVR

I would expect the final defensive options to go to either Singo or Pacho. I feel that there would be more excitement for Pacho though. The young central defender has impressed for the French champions, locking down a CB role as his own despite being just 23 years of age.

Adrien Rabiot - CM - 83 > 93 OVR

Either of Marseille’s central pairing could find themselves in this year's TOTS, with both Rabiot and Hojbjerg having strong campaigns. I lean towards the former, simply due to a higher probability of receiving a moments inclusion, with the Frenchman being a highly usable card in FUT. Rabiot has recorded six goals and two assists as Marseille battle towards a Champions League qualification spot.

Desire Doue - RW - 76 > 93 OVR

It seems strange having three PSG wingers included in this prediction, but it just shows the flexibility they have in the side. Doue I do not feel he has done as much as the other two included so is probably the weakest and therefore the most likely to be snubbed, but with the talented Frenchman's finish to the season, I can see EA opting to give him a moment's inclusion. There is a lot of hype around him, and his card would be extremely usable, so it makes sense for EA to capitalise on that.
