FC 25 95 End of Era Jamie Vardy Player Review - Cop or Flop

The Premier League TOTS is now available in packs, and there are some insane cards available. However, today we are here to talk about a massive SBC that dropped, and it is none other than End of an Era Jamie Vardy! That’s right, he’s here and we are having a party!

An important note to remember about end-of-era cards now is that they come with boosted chemistry. Whilst an English player from the Premier League certainly isn’t difficult to link, for those that now have a heavily dominated Ligue 1/ Eredivisie squad from last week's team of the season. It certainly makes sliding him into squads simple.

It was inevitable that we would see this EOAE item, but the big question was, how good would the card be? The boosts on this item are nice from his Grassroot Greats item. Pace of course remains at 99, but a +4 overall. A +5 to dribbling and Physicals, as well as the Low Driven+ being added to his Arsenal. No boost to Skill Moves though, which is a shame as it would be nice for him to go out with a 5*/5* item.

For Chemstyle, I have opted for the Finisher to round up his shooting and Dribbling to go along with his 99 pace. This is the clear option for this card!

There are 11 segments to complete this SBC with a price tag of just under 900k. There are so many ways to pick up fodder right now, and with a month to complete this, I feel there is plenty of time and resources to allow us to unlock this Vardy item.

How did he perform in-game?

+ The pace of the course was nearly perfect. You can’t fault much with the 99 pace.

+  His Shooting was incredibly clinical. With mostly maxed-out shooting stats, he simply did not miss. Having Low Driven is a bonus too, as it’s currently quite favourable 

+ Positionally, he could not be faulted. Always making the attacking run and moving into enough space to pick up the ball and finish the play.

+ Dribbling on this card was very slick. He’s agile on the ball and controls it very well in high-pressure situations.

- Strength was a bit of a let down for this item, as he was very often forced off of the ball when trying to work through defence.

Vardy - Cop or Flop?

This is a really nice item and a great finish to what is likely his FC journey. But there is something about the Vardy items over the past couple of years that just can’t seem to fit into the “Elite” tier of cards despite having incredible stats. He plays really well, but he just isn’t unique. He plays incredibly similar to most cards at this stage and certainly isn’t an item that would bridge you to your “Endgame” squad.

Despite SBCs not being too difficult to craft, looking at the prices of the new TOTS items, I can’t help but feel like this is largely overpriced and probably could have done with being given a fourth playstyle, considering that being 95-rated makes him far off of being eligible for Evos. It’s a nice nostalgic item, but probably not one that is a must-complete.

Verdict = FLOP
