With Barcelona recording 84 points from 30 matches and Real Madrid 76 from 30, sitting 22 points clear of third place, it’s no surprise that this side is dominated by the big two. The sheer quality gap between them and the rest of the division leaves room for only two players from outside these clubs. Headlining the squad are the usual names: Bonmati, Putellas and Hansen.
Lola Gallardo - GK - 80 > 91 OVR
We start the prediction with one of the only non-Barcelona or Real Madrid players to feature. Gallardo was close to a TOTY position and her good form has continued throughout the current campaign. She leads the way in terms of clean sheets with thirteen, while also making significantly more saves (68) than the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s keepers, who recorded 18 and 49 respectively. There are only a few positions likely to involve players from other clubs, and this is the easiest one to do so.
Ona Batlle - RB - 85 > 93 OVR
The first of many Barcelona options making this side is Ona Batlle. Barcelona have the best defensive record in the division with just sixteen goals conceded from twenty-six matches. Batlle contributes at both ends of the pitch, with that defensive record accompanied by four goals and seven assists. An easy inclusion for this side.
Mapi Leon - CB - 89 > 94 OVR
While the goalkeeper can’t take much credit for Barcelona’s clean sheet record, Mapi León certainly can. She dominates the back line alongside Paredes, but it’s León who has been the standout of the pair this season. I don’t see both making it in, as EA will likely want to diversify selections. Despite Barcelona’s attacking style and dominance in matches, the defence still has a vital role to play and conceding just sixteen goals all season speaks volumes.
Olga Carmona - LB - 83 > 93 OVR
Another easy selection now with a familiar face in Olga Carmona. The Spanish left-back has been heavily involved at both ends of the pitch. Real Madrid boast the third-best defensive record in the division, while Carmona has also contributed an impressive five goals and four assists. The left-back position doesn’t have another option remotely close to this level.
Linda Caicedo - LM - 79 > 95 OVR
With limited wide options available for this side, Caicedo stands a strong chance of inclusion. EA have clearly favoured her in promotions, having featured her four times already. The Madrid midfielder has contributed six goals and four assists, and at just 19, her talent is already evident. She’s certainly one to watch over the coming seasons.
Caroline Weir - CAM - 84> 94 OVR
One of the biggest moments this season saw Real Madrid finally beat their rivals, Barcelona, in what had previously been the most one-sided rivalry in history. Weir was crucial in that match, and I can see it being recognised with a moment's inclusion. The Scottish international has impressed throughout the season, with her nine goals and eight assists arguably enough for a straight inclusion anyway.
Aitana Bonmati - CM - 91 > 98 OVR
With back-to-back Ballon d'Or Féminin titles to her name, Bonmati is the undisputed best female player in the world right now and her ability never fails to impress. The Spaniard offers moments of magic almost every game, and this has translated into nine goals and five assists from central midfield. You will often see clips of Bonmati showcasing her skill and ability throughout matches beyond just goals and assists.
Alexia Putellas - CM - 90 > 97 OVR
When your central midfield contains a duo that has won the Ballon d'Or Féminin for the past four years combined, you are always likely to dominate matches. Putellas looked back to her best this past season, and there are arguments to be made that she has been even better than Bonmati. Either way, both will feature in this side. Putellas managed an impressive twelve goals and nine assists within this dominant Barcelona team.
Caroline Graham Hansen - RW - 90 > 98 OVR
When players are inducted into a TOTY side, it is rare that they then miss their league's TOTS, with injuries being the only real reason this typically happens. Hansen recorded an impressive eleven goals and eight assists for Barcelona as they look set to pick up yet another Liga F title. One of the most popular female options on the game would never miss out here.
Ewa Pajor - ST - 87 > 96 OVR
You guessed it, yet another Barcelona player. You cannot ignore Pajor, with the Polish striker leading the way in goals with nineteen to her name, and also recording seven assists. Some of these players will have to miss out, otherwise, the side will just be a Barcelona TOTS, but Pajor is unlikely to be one of them, currently leading the Golden Boot race by five goals.
Edna Imade - ST - 69 > 91 OVR
EA will likely look to include a couple of non-Barcelona or Real Madrid players in this side, and an easy route into that is Granada’s Imade. The Nigerian is currently the league’s second-highest goalscorer with fourteen goals to her name and has already received an official POTM award this season. With Granada scoring just 39 goals in total, and Imade directly involved in almost half of them, her importance to the side is clear.
Alba Redondo - ST - 84 > 92 OVR
Attacking players were much easier to predict than defensive ones, so I expect the attacking side of this squad to be heavily favoured. Another likely inclusion is Redondo. The Madrid striker has scored thirteen goals, making her the third-highest goalscorer at present. I would lean towards a moment's inclusion for her.
