FC 25 97 Shapeshifters Evolution Berbatov Player Review!

It’s taken nearly an entire year but we finally have our first Berbatov special card of the year. The Bulgarian has been shifted from the top end of the pitch to the bottom, moving from striker to centre back. His SBC will set you back around 40,000 but it’s the 200,000 Evolution we’re here to talk about.

After sitting down and chatting Ultimate Team with Berbatov earlier this year, we’ve been eagerly awaiting his first special card and he did not let us down. The base version comes with 2 PlayStyle+ with the boost to the 97 being massive. Gaining both Tiki Taka+ and First Touch+ alongside base Quick Step, Intercept, Pinged and Incisive Pass. A tidy boost from the SBC version, but is he worth the 200,000 coins?

The stats of the 97 look incredible, but did he live up to expectations?

There are 3 segments to complete this SBC with a price tag of around 40,000 coins. The Evolution requires 5 matches played across 5 levels.

How did he perform in-game?

+ The defending was incredible. It felt like we could have played him on his own in defence and it wouldn't have mattered. His positional awareness was unreal, he found himself in the right areas to defend even if I'd dragged him massively out of position.

+  You expect any Berbatov item to have crazy dribbling and this was no different, he felt really smooth on the ball and allowed him to play out from the back himself.

+  Passing was quality too, his long balls to switch the play were exceptional.

+  His strength was really nice, the Bruiser PlayStyle really showed off here and meant he came out on top in plenty of duels. 

Berbatov - Cop or Flop?

This Berbatov item is fantastic and really held the defence together. There aren’t many better Centre Backs you’ll get for the price and it’s one we’d highly recommend adding to your back line!
