FC 26 is right around the corner, well for most of us anyway… There will be a select few of our favourite players that won’t be returning for FC 26. Some are retiring, some with new clubs and others without a club at all!
Players Not In FC 26
Raphael Varane
I can’t imagine it’ll take too much time to deal with the loss of Varane in FC 26 as he’s not been in packs since the start of the game and has only had one special card, as the name suggests, his End of an Era was his last item.
Dries Mertens
Another player who has called time on their career is Ultimate Team favourite Dries Mertens. The Belgian has graced us with a number of fantastic cards over the years but has called time on a fantastic career. Sadly we won’t be seeing him in FC 26, but could he return in future editions of the game as a hero?
Ivan Rakitic
Another contender for a future Hero is Ivan Rakitic, who was in FC 25 but we wouldn’t blame you if you weren’t aware. He’s been out of packs for a few weeks and didn’t receive any special cards throughout the game cycle
Neymar Jr
It truly is the End of an Era. No Neymar in Ultimate Team. There have been rumours of the Brazilian League being added for FC 26, but with nothing confirmed so close to release, I can’t imagine anything changing. It won’t be his last appearance in Ultimate Team, or at least I hope, as he’s nailed on to return as an Icon some day…
Amel Majri
The Olympique Lyon legend announced her departure from the French club this summer after 15 years with them. She’s left to join Saudi club Al-Ula. Despite the men’s Saudi Pro League featuring in Ultimate Team, we’ve had no confirmation about the female league.
Roberto Firmino
Give the ball to Bobby and he will score, well not in FC 26. The former Liverpool man has called a day on his time in Saudi but remains in the Middle East with Al Sadd. There are a number of big(ish) names over in Qatar but they remain outside of Ultimate Team.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
Out of all of the players on my list it’s Tomiyasu who has the best chance at appearing in FC 26. The Japanese defender is currently a free agent but can be picked up by clubs at any time. He may not be included on release, but we have been seeing new cards added around the holiday season in previous games.
James Rodriguez
The Mexican league is another that was heavily rumored to return for FC 26, but just like Brazil with nothing confirmed so far, I can’t see it happening for full release. James is the main man we’ve picked out but there are a few others that’ll be missed, one being Allan Saint Maximin!
Alisha Lehmann
One of the highest upvoted players in FC 24 could potentially leave Ultimate Team just two years later. Despite joining Serie A side Como, EA Sports don’t have the full licensing for the league, meaning we won’t see Lehmann in FC 26.
Which players will you miss the most?
