Chelsea vs Manchester United

Our first selection this week sees us heading across to England, where two of the largest clubs go head to head. Chelsea have surprised a lot of this people, looking solid, organised and deadly throughout the campaign, while Manchester United, well let’s just congratulate them on their hard fought win against Newcastle last time out. Investments for this game are tougher than normal, especially due to Hazard’s POTM card bumping Chelsea prices, however if this is your selection, aim for a strong rating, gold rarity, and a solid position.

Inter Milan vs AC Milan

Derby della Madonnina, or as I know, the Milan Derby. Third place Inter Milan play hosts to tenth place AC Milan in their first clash of the season, and while Inter drive to continue their title push, AC Milan are simply desperate to rectify their slow start to the season. Investments here are simple one again, aiming for gold players, with a solid rating, position and even mixing up the rarity. Consider which nationalities you buy, and how easily they can be linked into a hybrid if required.

Barcelona vs Sevilla

Over to Spain next, and while this game may not be a derby, or a match with historic rivalry so to speak, it’s a game that holds a whole heap of importance to both clubs. The La Liga has been a messy situation so far this season, Barcelona and Real Madrid have really struggled to find their feet, and hence things are super tight towards the top of the table. Sevilla are the team who have taken full advantage of this, pushing on and currently sitting in first place. Barcelona however are hot on their heels, just 1 point behind in second, which means that whoever takes the points here, will temporarily hold the crown too.

Montreal Impact vs Toronto FC

Onto the slightly smaller matches now, the games where we will be likely aiming at both silver and bronze cards for discard, but also the games that have the potential to return a rather hefty profit too. Montreal and Toronto go head to head in a derby known as the Canadian Classique, or the 401 Derby, which relates to the Ontario Highway 401 that practically conects the two cities. Like we mentioned before, if choosing this game, aim for whatever you can get your hands on, just try to keep it as near to discard value as possible.

Melbourne Victory vs Melbourne City

Who remembers the Melbourne Derby from FIFA 18? Crazy requirements from EA left these cards extinct on the market, forcing people to sit there sniping these cards at 10,000 coins a pop! Well, the good news is that EA seem to have toned down requirements this year, and I would guess that if we see this included we require 1 player from either team. Either way, at discard value, you really cannot go wrong with picking up a few players for this game.

Djurgardens IF vs AIK

Over to Sweden now, where we find Djurgardens IF and AIK, going head to head in a derby known as “Tvillingderbyt”, the Twin Derby. The history behind this, relates to the fact that both clubs were formed within Stockholm in 1891, making them local rivals, and hence adding significance beyond football to this fixture. Just like the couple of games previous, if this is your selection, aim for whatever you can get for at or around discard price.

Alternative Premier League Matches

While the Chelsea vs Manchester United game is the one we chose to feature, the fact that both sides are in the Champions League (hence could be included in a MM here), and that Chelsea players are inflated due to the POTM, could see EA taking an alternative route. If you are considering the other options, we have West Ham vs Tottenham, in a London derby, and Bournemouth vs Southampton in a south coast rivalry too.
