Season 8: The World’s Game Update

Festival of Football is back for Season 8 and there are a number of updates coming this season! We’ve got brand new Icons, plenty of new promo cards, a new PlayStyle system, a new way to unlock players and plenty more. 

How do Festival of Football Tokens work?

We’ll kick things off with the biggest change coming this season. Tokens are a brand new reward type that have been designed to give you greater choice over how you play and what you earn in FUT. Starting on 4 June you’ll be able to earn Festival of Football tokens across a range of game modes including; Rivals, Squad Battles, Rush, Live Events, Select Objective and Select SBCs.

You’ll be able to earn up to 1,000 Tokens per week which can be exchanged in store for a number of different options. 

The FOF Token Store will host the following rewards; Packs, Player Picks, Evo Consumables, Campaign Player Items, Evo Cosmetics And “Marquee” Player Items.

Whilst some of the bigger chase rewards are static and will not change throughout the season, the following rewards will refresh on a weekly basis:

• Campaign Player Items. 3 new player items from the current campaign will replace the 3 existing campaign player items on a weekly basis.
• 1 x Low Cost Evo Consumable. Each week, this 100 Token award will refresh to offer a different Evolution stat boost.
• Evo Cosmetic. Offering a shell change for the current campaign, this will refresh each week to offer the current campaign’s shell.
• Certain packs and player picks will also update each week to reflect the currently available campaign items in packs.

To keep things simple, you play the game, earn tokens and spend them on exclusive Festival of Football Rewards. The higher you rank in game modes, the more tokens you can earn and the bigger rewards you can unlock!

How does the Festival of Football PlayStyle Lab work?

Just like the FUT Birthday Promo, Festival of Football will have its own PlayStyle selection. You can fully customize select FOF Items with a full set of PlayStyles of your choice. This is essentially FUT Birthday Bakery but for more cards types… and for free! The following Rare Types are eligible for the FOF PlayStyles Lab; International Star Performers, National Pride, National Pride Champions, FUT Birthday, Glory Hunters. 

Yes, the FUT Birthday Bakery is being removed, but FUT Birthday Cards are included in the FOF PlayStyle Lab and can still be customized however you’d like!

All Card Types will be released with 0 PlayStyles and PlayStyle+ aside from International Star Performers which will be released with 1 PlayStyle+ or base PlayStyle relevant to their performance in real life. 

Journey of Nations

Coming with Season 8 is a brand new Group Objective featuring all continents competing in the 2026 summer tournament.

Each continent will contain a completionist inside the group which will reward a Journey of Nations Icon.

• Asia + Oceania - Saeed Al-Owairan
• Africa - Jay Jay Okocha
• South America - Carlos Alberto
• Europe - Gerd Muller

In addition there is a completionist objective group where you earn rewards for completing all 5 continental objectives, which will give out a Journey of Nations Diego Maradona.
