IF Richarlison

OTW traders rejoiced as TOTW8 brought the much anticipated addition of an upgraded Richarlison to the mix.  Profits were made and I am sure most bought back in as OTW Richarlison plummeted back to the prices he started at before his brace against Brighton.  As a LM Richarlison stands in a massive queue of potential Premier League options.  I honestly think he is still two upgrades away from threatening some of these top tier players.  However, as a striker there is quite a buzz surrounding this card and one more upgrade in the ST position could shake up the look of WL teams.

My player picks after WL have been laughable at best and Richarlison was my top reward for battling the servers and disconnects last weekend.  However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I probably would have overlooked this card, or at the very least used his upgrade OTW out on the wing instead of at ST.  I tried a HAWK chemistry style before settling on a more effective SNIPER boost.  This past Weekend League Richarlison led the line in the following squad:

Pace

86 ACCELERATION just about does the trick and Richarlison is able to get around the pitch quite easily.  I feel like a broken record from previous reviews as once again Richarlison falls victim to the speed that chasing defenders have in FIFA 19.  He does not pull away on breakaways but is not slow by any means.  He was definitely able to keep up with the demands of Weekend League.

Pace Rating: 8/10

Passing & Defending

Defending is not something Richarlison did a lot of in my team and so I will post the usual “not available” response.  However,  I should note that I have read at least three comments that suggest there are FUT Managers playing IF Richarlison as a CM with notable success.  I assume he must have some defensive abilities to play this position, but I am more surprised given my experience with Richarlison’s passing.  I was disappointed on more than one occasion as Richarlison sent passes for would be scoring opportunities wide or long of the intended target.  Frustrating doesn’t quite sum it up.

Passing Rating: 6.5/10
Defending Rating: N/A

Dribbling & Shooting

With the aid of the SNIPER chemistry style both of these important categories have some seriously good reading; 5 STAR WEAK FOOT, 96 FINISHING, 82 SHOT POWER, 92 AGILITY, 87 BALL CONTROL, and 98 DRIBBLING.  In-game statistics are one thing, but it is the results that matter.  Richarlison had a good return for goals and one thing I found interesting is that he scored in almost every game I played with him.  One multi goal game, but normally just a quality and steady contributor and ultimately that is how I would describe this card.  In terms of dribbling you of course have the 4 STAR SKILLS at your disposal, along with some surprising agility for a “bigger” player.  Probably the biggest compliment I can pay IF Richarlison is that he can feel like Roberto Firmino on the ball.   I was happy with the responsiveness of his turns and 78 BALANCE does not seem to affect him at all.

Shooting Rating: 9/10
Dribbling Rating: 8.5/10

Physical

5’11 is a decent height for a ST and I found IF Richarlison played taller than his height suggests.  81 JUMPING & 77 STRENGTH add to the fact that Richarlison is a handful for most defenders.  As a target man he is able to protect the ball and knock down headers to his teammate’s feet.  Yet, as a “get in behind” style of runner he is able to hold off would be defenders as he is played through.  81 STAMINA is not terrible, but I did notice a drop around the 75th minute and generally needed a sub.

Physical Rating: 8/10

Final Score

Overall Rating: 8/10

As of this writing this review IF Richarlison sits at an absolutely ridiculous price of 22k on XBOX.  I honestly do not remember a review where bang for your buck was so disproportionate.  Starter or super sub it does not matter; this card can really impact teams for the better.  If they are not working with a million dollar budget than I can see zero reasons why FUT Managers would not pick this card up for their squads.  You have a “weekend league ready” combination of physical traits combined with the skill sets to get the job done.  I will say that IF Richarlison is 100% not on the level of the expensive options at the ST position, but he a budget option that will add serious threat to your attacking repertoire.  With the form that Richarlison has been keeping for Everton it is almost certain that a SIF is not far away and while the LM OTW will still be sort of the upper tier players; a SIF ST will be an absolute nightmare to defend against, and hopefully as affordable. Cheers for reading.
