TOTW 14 PREDICTIONS

FUTMAS is in full swing, with an array of challenges, Icon SBC’s and Player SBC’s every single day. We are also drawing closer and closer to that infamous TOTW 15, which has every possibility of providing us with yet another TOTW SBC event! That’s not for another week or so though, so let’s crack on with what’s important right now!

Before we do though, keep in mind that both Messi and Griezmann recently had TOTGS cards, while Skov had an Inform just two weeks ago. This instantly makes it very unpredictable as to whether or not they make the final cut.

Starting Eleven

B.v.Leer

First up we find this week’s starting goalkeeper, and while we design these predictions to feature those who deserve a spot based of merit, I can’t help but feel that EA may include a superstar name in place of one of these silvers. PEC Zwolle and NAC Breda went head to head in their fixture this weekend, and thanks to this mans heroics, everybody took home a piece of the pie.

Fazio

Roma were hosts to Genoa in the late Sunday night Serie A fixture this week, where fans were left on the edge of their seats in a 5 goal thriller. In the end it was the hosts who took the points, and while Fazio may not have managed a clean sheet, he did secure the man of the match award with a solid performance and a goal to his name too.

Blind

Wow. Now this has to be the game of the week! It’s very, very, very rare that EA include two players from a single match, but with this result we simply couldn’t leave either out. Ajax absolutely obliterated De Graafschap 8-0 in their fixture this week, and Blind was nothing short of phenomenal. With a clean sheet, and a hat-trick from a center back, whatever happens elsewhere this man is a lock.

Kimmich

Next up we see a familiar face, a man who featured in our predictions last week, yet sadly missed out on the actual team. This week however he is back with a vengeance, scoring one, providing an assist and securing a clean sheet during Bayern’s 4-0 win away to Hannover.

Shaqiri

Now this man is the definition of a super sub. One of the biggest matches in English football, game is tied at 1-1, only twenty minutes remain on the clock, enter Shaqiri. It took him just minutes to score his first, and not much longer to bag his second, giving Liverpool the points over a struggling Manchester United, and Shaqiri a real chance at an Inform this week.

Bamba

Numerous fixtures in Ligue 1 were cancelled yet again this week, however luckily a small handful were able to go ahead as planned. Lyon were on the road this week, as they travelled to Nimes for their weekend fixture. Bamba was in fine form on the day, providing an assist and bagging a goal for himself too.

Ziyech

We mentioned it earlier, that we simply couldn’t exclude either Ajax player from this week’s predictions, and so here it is, our second nomination, and our second hat-trick. Ziyech was absolutely brilliant across the match, not only did he provide an assist, but just like Blind, he secured himself a hat-trick as well.

Dost

The myth, the man, the legend. The player everybody is going to want in their weekend league rewards has finally put himself in with a chance of an Inform. Sporting were 4-2 winners over Nacional in their Liga Nos fixture this week, and with 2 goals and an assist, we could finally be seeing this legend taking the spotlight once again.

Jesus

Now you can’t get much more festive than this, a possible Jesus Inform that arrives just in time for Christmas! Manchester City continued their fine form to the season with another 3 points at home to Everton this week. Jesus hasn’t had an incredible season so far, but with 2 goals and a great performance up top, it could very well be his week.

Messi

With his recent TOTGS card, it instantly becomes very risky to include this man within these predictions, however, with 3 goals and 2 assists, it also becomes impossible to exclude him. Messi once again showed the world why he is one of the best, playing a part in every goal in Barcelona’s 5-0 win over Levante. Not only did he secure two assists, but he went on to score not once, not twice, but three times, also securing his hat-trick alongside a perfect game.

Griezmann

Just like with Messi, the fact that this man was recently featured within the TOTGS, combined with the fact that he had a RTTF card that was recently upgraded, I find it hard to imagine EA including him this week. However, these predictions are based off facts and logic, featuring the most deserving players of the week, and with 2 goals and an assist against Real Valladolid on the weekend, Griezmann certainly deserves a spot.

Substitutes and Reserves

Coselev

Onto the bench now, and our second goalkeeper nomination. Now as we mentioned before, there is every chance that we see a big name goalkeeper stealing one of these spots, however, as far as stats are concerned, these are the guys who are truly deserving. Fortuna Sittard were 2-0 winners away to Feyenoord this week, and despite the home sides 26 shots, Coselev pulled off an array of incredible saves to ensure the clean sheet, and also the points.

Ayhan

Now while Siovas could quite easily go either way, there is absolutely no doubt in our mind that this man is a lock. Düsseldorf took the points in a 2-0 win over Freiburg this week; and not only did Ayhan help maintain the clean sheet, but he also was the man who bagged both of the goals. Absolutely astonishing performance, especially from a center back.

Tete

Back across to Ligue 1 now, where we find our second and final nomination of the week. Golovin made his biggest contribution of the season this week, and while his red card may not have helped Monaco, at least his name was in lights for that brief moment. Lyon were comfortable 3-0 winners on the night though, and with Tete playing in the RM slot, he picked up 2 assists in a fantastic performance across the 90 minutes.

Praet

Italy is our next destination, where Sampdoria took all 3 points from a 2-0 win at home to Parma. Praet from the midfield was exceptional on the day, and while he may not have managed to secure himself a goal, he did provide both the assists, giving him a real shot at stardom on Wednesday.

Skov

Onto the third risky choice amongst our predictions, simply due to the fact that Skov featured in TOTW 12. Either way, he had yet another incredible performance as Kobenhavn picked up all the points in a 3-0 win over Sonderjyske this week. Skov was the man behind each and every goal, which is why we simply couldn’t leave his name off this final list.

Immers

ADO Den Haag we’re comfortable 3-0 winners away to Willem II this week, and while there were several incredible performances across the team, only one man could possibly take this spot. Immers scored twice from his central role, and with the lack of central options this week, he has definitely put himself in a fantastic position for an Inform this week.

Hoarau

Young boys were on the road this weekend, where they took all the points in a very comfortable 4-1 win. Hoarau was the man of the hour, scoring twice and providing an assist to ensure his team were surrounded with glory.

Prevljak

Here we go, we are moving into superstar territory now, not with the level of player perhaps, but with the sensational performances they found this week. FC Salzburg took all 3 points with a dominating 5-1 win on the weekend. Prevljak managed not one, not two, not even three, but four goals during the match, and has surely secured his spot in this week’s final lineup.

Hamdallah

From one incredible performance to another now, where we find yet another player who managed to secure themselves 4 goals this week. Al Nasr were 4-0 winners over Al Raed in their weekend fixture, and with 4 goals to his name, leaving Hamdallah out was never an option.

Poulsen

Did somebody say fourth Inform Werner? Well, it’s possible, however surely it’s a little too early to even consider this, especially when we consider the fact that we aren’t even half way through the season! Leipzig were comfortable 4-1 winners over Mainz this week, and while Werner bagged two goals and an assist, Poulsen managed to match this accomplishment, and without an Inform to his name yet, he takes our nomination.

Ings

Arsenal seem to have really found some fantastic form this season, while Southampton have been fighting relegation from the start. On paper, this pointed to a match with only one possible outcome, but thanks to two fantastic goals from Ings, Southampton defied the odds and went on to take all 3 points during a 3-2 victory on the weekend.

Sousa

Braga took all the points in a very comfortable 4-0 win over Feirense on the weekend. There were some incredible performances across the team, but Sousa was by far the standout. With two goals from open play and a third from the spot, surely he has done enough to secure himself his first upgrade of the campaign.
