TOTW 33 Predictions

There were several potential IF’s which could clash with the upcoming Bundesliga TOTS with Sancho and Kramaric being the main two. I see Kramaric as a certainty for TOTS but I have included Sancho in this side with the Englishman headlining alongside Ter Stegen, Azpilicueta and another upgrade for OTW Osimhen likely on the way.

Goalkeeper

Ter Stegen – GK - OVR 90>>91
In what was one of the most anticipated games of the season with the La Liga battle really heating up and an Atletico win meaning they were highly likely to take the title while a Barcelona win would have made them favourites, it ended up being a 0-0 draw. That being said it was not a dull match with both keepers on top of their game. Oblak made seven saves while Ter Stegen made six. Oblak features in the current TOTS promotion making him illegible and thus Ter Stegen should be the man featuring come Wednesday.

Defenders

Azpilicueta – CB - OVR 84>>86
I fully expect there to be a Chelsea IF on Wednesday after their 2-1 comeback win over Manchester City which delayed their probably title win. The issue is that there is no obvious candidate with Alonso being ruled out due to his recent SBC, much like Bale last week. With a lack of defenders available for selection I can see it going to way of Azpilicueta after he provided an assist and was strong defensively in Chelsea’s important win.

Fikayo Tomori – CB - OVR 76>>81
AC Milan v Juventus was one of the biggest games in Italy this season with the winner likely to go on to claim Champions League football next season while the loser could easily drop out of the top four. That was exactly the case and now Juventus have a lot of work to do, which considering they have won so many title in a row to then drop out the top four is unimaginable. AC Milan were convincing though, running away with a 3-0 win. Tomori scored one of those three and is thus likely to receive his first IF.

Aaron Martin – LB - OVR 75>>81
For me this one is between Mina and Martin with Mina probably being hard done by here, but I simply can not ignore a gold defender with two assists in a week which I struggled for gold defenders. After all it is rare on a regular week to see a gold defender with two attacking contributions snubbed, especially in the top 5 leagues

Midfielders

Jose Morales – LM - OVR 79>>86
I was a little bit surprised that Morales failed to make La Liga TOTS this year with the midfielder making double figures for goals this campaign. The Spaniard added another two to his tally during a 2-2 draw with Aalves and although Levante failed to take home all three points with the TOTS snub in mind, I feel that Morales will pick up his TIF.

Ivan Rakitic – CM - OVR 82>>86
Another highly anticipated game in La Liga this week was Sevilla v Real Madrid, another which had huge implications in the title race. Once again, we ended in a draw but this time as a 2-2. Rakitic scored once and assisted another to claim MOTM and with it being such a high profile match I can’t see it being ignored.

Lorenzo Pellegrini – CAM - OVR 79>>84
Roma’s poor form as of late has resulted in them not achieving European football next season but now that they have nothing to play for the pressure has seemingly vanished with a world class performance seeing them comfortably defeat Crotone, 5-0. Pellegrini scored two of those five goals and was awarded MOTM from Gazzetta.

Gaetan Laborde – RW - OVR 76>>84
Strasbourg continued their poor run of form and as a result look like potential late relegation candidates. Despite two goals late on from the club it wasn’t enough to claw back the three-goal deficit they incurred during the first half. Laborde scored two of those three goals with L’equipe awarding him a place in their TOTW with an 8/10

Jadon Sancho – RM - OVR 87>>89
First things first obviously this is very dependent on whether Sancho ends up making TOTS or not but with it now only being 15 players I can see him missing out and thus Sancho would be inevitable for this side. It is a risk I am willing to take as personally I don’t see the Englishman making the side. As for his TOTW performance Sancho scored twice as Dortmund managed a 3-2 win over Leipzig, putting them in a good position for a fourth placed finish.

Forwards

Callum Wilson – ST - OVR 78>>86
Newcastle confirmed their safety this weekend with an impressive 4-2 win over Leicester City. It was a result which hurts the latter’s chances of Champions League football next season as the pressure is now piled on them with Liverpool in hot pursuit. Wilson scored twice in the win and was named MOTM with an 8/10 match rating.

Victor Osimhen – ST - OVR 79>>84
With Juventus dropping points this weekend it allowed Napoli to take advantage and jump into fourth, the final champions league position. A 4-1 win over Spezia was more than convincing, with Osimhen scoring twice and assisting another to claim MOTM. Enough for those OTW owners to see him upgraded for the second time this year.

Substitutes

Alessio Cragno – GK - OVR 81>>84
Cragno is perhaps a contender for the Serie A TOTS but with limited spaces now confirmed I can’t see him making the cut and thus making the Italian a possibility for TOTW 33. Serie A keepers are never reliable for these sides but with a lack of options his 7.5 from Gazzetta stands out for me. It total, he made six saves as Cagliari went on to win 3-1.

Aritz Elustondo – CB - OVR 76>>81
With La Liga TOTS currently in packs in limits potential candidates for this week’s side. One which I have no doubts about however is Real Sociedad’s Elustondo. The central defender scored the opener before Oyarzabal secured the three points in the 91st minute, securing a 2-0 win. Elustondo was also influential at the back though, winning nine aerial duels and making four tackles to help keep his clean sheet.

Eberechi Eze – CM - OVR 75>>81
Eze has impressed for Palace this season and alongside Zaha is probably their most influential player. The youngster added both a goal and an assist to his tally this weekend with Palace coming away with a 2-0 win while hosting bottom of the table Sheffield United.

Boubakary Soumare – CM - OVR 76>>81
Lille took yet another step closer to a shock Ligue 1 title with a 3-0 win over Lens. Yilmaz once again stole headlines, scoring twice but with a recent inclusion to TOTW I feel as though it will end up going the way of Soumare, who is the next best option. Despite on paper just getting one assist his overall performance was superb, dominating the middle of the park. Both Yilmaz and Soumare received an 8/10 which proves just how good Soumare was.

Roberto Gagliardini – CM - OVR 78>>81
It was a very changed Inter side now that they are officially Serie A champions, but it was still one way traffic for them, winning 5-1 at home to Sampdoria. Sanchez scored twice but with Gazzetta only awarding him a 6.5 its very unlikely that we will see him feature and instead Gagliardini of whom scored once and assist another from CM.

Alan Kardec – ST - OVR 76>>81
There were a lot of gold strikers with two goals to their name, especially in La Liga but I have instead opted for the CSL with Kardec. The Brazilian scored twice and added an assist. There was debate about the change of names effecting potential CSL IF’s but with Oscar managing to be include I see Kardec as a real option this week.

Dusan Vlahovic – ST - OVR 70>>82
Remember the name Vlahovic as this transfer window there are going to be a ridiculous number of clubs chasing his signature. The 21-year-old striker has excelled in Serie A this season and is now scoring practically week in week out. He was named POTW in the division this week with another two goals added to his tally during a 2-0 win over Lazio. Taking the Serbians tally to 21 for the season.

Reserves

Maarten Stekelenburg – GK - OVR 72>>79
It’s been a long time since I have predicted a keeper in the reserves as in truth, they are just very rare with EA opting for goals instead. Stekelenburg should have done enough to be included though and I simply can not ignore him. Ajax gave away a penalty late in the first half which also resulted in them going down to ten men. Stekelenburg saved that penalty though and went on to make numerous other saves as Ajax miraculously beat Feyenoord 3-0.

Phillip Hercher – LB - OVR 65>>75
With a limited number of hat tricks occurring this week it made players such as Hercher significantly easier to include as before it would be a case of which hat trick to remove. Hercher was named POTW in the third tier of Germany with a perfect match rating after being involved in three goals from defence, scoring once and assisting another two. Kaiserslautern went on to win the match 4-1 and despite conceding I am very confident on Herchers inclusion.

Josip Brekalo – LM - OVR 76>>81
Although unlikely that we will see golds sneak into the reserve section I am playing a numbers game here and thus I am more confident in predicting another gold rather than a less confident silver. Brekalo is a player who is 100% getting into TOTW 33 though after he scored three times for Wolfsburg in their 3-0 win over Union Berlin.

Guillaume Hoarau – ST - OVR 74>>80
Hoarau has began to struggle to find goals now which is surely a sign of his age catching up with him. The once prolific PSG striker is now playing his club football for Sion in Switzerland. Before his latest match he had only scored twice in 18 league fixtures but obviously the quality is still there with the Frenchman scoring three time this weekend in a 3-0 Sion win.

Florian Aye – ST - OVR 70>>78
A late run of form for Brescia has resulted in a real chance of sneaking into the play off positions in Serie B. It has not been easy for them and their latest result, a 4-3 win over Pisa highlights just how much they seem to want it. Aye scored three of their four goals and as is usually the case the hat tricks should dominate the reserves.
