Team Of The Week 11 Predictions | TOTW

TOTW 11 brings a lot of decent cards but not many that would be classed as meta. However, a potential SIF for both Marquinhos and Tavernier looks set to make them among the best options in their position for FIFA 22 while upgrades for both Griezmann and Talisca OTW’s look set to be on the horizon.

Goalkeeper

Anthony Lopes – GK - OVR 82>>84
It’s always a relief to have an easy goalkeeper selection and with Lopes, that is exactly what we have this week. The Lyon stopper made a total of six saves this weekend to deny Montpellier and received the joint highest rating of the week from L’equipe as a result with an 8/10.

Defenders

Marquinhos – CB - OVR 87>>89
With just a four-week gap from his previous IF there is a slight risk associated with the inclusion of Marquinhos but as seen in the past elite performances can change the gap slightly and with two goals to his name from CB I would say the Brazilian definitely deserves it more than most. L’equipe did however only award him a 7/10 but with a spot in their TOTW is unlikely to go unnoticed.

Rafael Toloi – CB - OVR 80>>83
Atalanta inflicted a fifth defeat of the season for Juventus, who now sit down in 7th position, via a 1-0 away win. Zapata scored the solitary goal but I can’t see an IF being awarded for one goal as a striker and thus Toloi looks to be a strong shout after he was defensively solid for them, shown by the impressive 7.5 awarded by Gazzetta.

James Tavernier – RB - OVR 77>>86
Tavernier is another with just a four-week gap but once again I am willing to take the punt on him. With two assists during a 3-1 win the Rangers defender continues to be a threat going forward for them and seeing as though he was the featured TOTW last time he was included his potential SIF could instantly become one of the best RBs in the game should EA opt to include him.

Midfielders

Domenico Berardi – RW - OVR 82>>84
One of the biggest shocks this weekend came with Sassuolo recording a 3-1 away win over AC Milan, who as a result drop down to second. Berardi scored one of the three goals and was awarded MOTM with an 8/10. Considering the magnitude of the match should easily make his way into TOTW 11.

James Maddison – CAM - OVR 82>>84
Watford failed to build upon their impressive 4-1 win over Manchester United last week, falling to Leicester 4-2. Both Vardy and Maddison are strong shouts for TOTW 11 with the former grabbing two goals while Maddison managed a goal and two assists. EA could go either way with this one but with other big-name players available the sensible option is to go with the MOTM and thus I have included Maddison.

Ilkay Gundogan – CM - OVR 85>>86
Rodri missed out for his thunderbolt last week but once again I am opting for a Manchester City midfielder. This time during an important three points against the challenging West Ham, Gundogan managed both a goal and an assist. A recent inclusion in the Rulebreaker promotion is slightly concerning but the German should still be able to make the side on Wednesday.

Ilhas Bebou – RW - OVR 77>>84
As far as featured TOTW’s go I don’t think you will find a better option than Bebou this week. Not only is he going to be a very strong FIFA card but he also deserves it after his outstanding performance this weekend. The pacey forward played out wide for Hoffenheim on Saturday and was heavily involved in their 6-3 thriller with Furth, scoring three times.

Forwards

Antoine Griezmann – ST - OVR 85>>86
Although this was a difficult decision with Griezmann only recording a goal and an assist it was made that much easier by the fact there were only a few La Liga options. With Antoine having a OTW card he also becomes more attractive as an option on that front. Lemar is the other option, scoring once from RM but with the official MOTM award going the way of Griezmann I have to favour him.

Dries Mertens – ST - OVR 84>>86
Napoli shot into first place on Sunday with a convincing 4-0 home win over Lazio, Mertens scored two of those goals and received a huge 9/10 from Gazzetta by doing so. With just seven goals conceded in 14 matches Napoli look like they will be a difficult side to stop this season.

Diogo Jota – ST - OVR 82>>84
It's crazy to think that either Firmino or Jota will be benched every week with the quality they both obtain. Jota has had a prolonged period of time in the side due to an injury to the Brazilian but it’s a chance the Portuguese forward has taken well. Although he probably should have scored more Jota’s brace was enough to see him claim MOTM from Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Southampton. They were snubbed heavily last week but surely not again?

Substitutes

Manuel Riemann – GK - OVR 74>>80
There appears to be an ongoing trend for a 6th non gold option appearing in the substitutes, especially with the keepers. After a magnificent display between the stick for Riemann this weekend, that looks set to continue. The German made a total of 10 saves and although there was no clean sheet his performance was still pivotal in picking up all three points and was awarded a perfect 1 match rating from Kicker as a result.

Fabien Centonze – RB - OVR 77>>81
It was only the defensive side of the game which produced candidates this week for Ligue 1 but those who are, are almost certain of making the cut. Metz recorded an impressive 1-0 away win over Nice, with Centonze scoring the only goal of the game to claim MOTM with an 8/10.

Juanmi – LM - OVR 75>>81
Although one of the less exciting options in the side this week, Juanmi is up there with the most deserving. The Spaniard bagged himself a second half hat trick for Real Betis as they fought from behind to win 3-1 at home to Levante. Betis continue to excel so far this campaign, currently in fifth place, narrowly behind Sevilla in 4th.

Ben Brereton – LM - OVR 71>>82
A name which can often be found in my comments section is Ben Brereton and although I have often snubbed his SIF this week, I feel that it is finally time. The Blackburn midfielder scored twice as Blackburn convincingly beat Peterborough 4-0 and with a recent Championship Milestone promotion happening, I feel as though a Championship IF would be preferred by EA.

Moussa Diaby – LW - OVR 81>>84
There are multiple players potentially picking up IF’s which have been featured in one of the last few promotions, Diaby being one of them. Leverkusen recorded a 3-1 win over Leipzig this weekend which I feel will be rewarded with an IF but it is a difficult decision between both Diaby and Palacios. Diaby’s one goal and one assist looks better on paper but with Palacios picking up MOTM it becomes a difficult decision. Strangely it was only Diaby who featured in the official Kicker TOTW though and thus I have opted for him.

Anderson Talisca – CF - OVR 82>>86
Those who completed the Talisca SBC early into FIFA now look set to obtain a very impressive card after the Brazilian scored both Al-Nassr goals during a 2-1 away win. Although he is likely to get another upgrade from this IF the 5 wins from 10 is still looking unlikely for Talisca.

Darwin Nunez – ST - OVR 76>>81
There is a possibility that EA completely write off this match as the circumstances are like no other. Benfica lined up against a 9-man Belenenses, two of which were goalkeepers due to a covid outbreak. Benfica went in at HT 7-0 up, three of which were scored by Nunez however the game was then abandoned with two more Belenenses players going down injured forcing the referee to abandon the game. Benfica are awarded the win and thus with it being an official match I can see EA still awarding an IF but it could go either way.

Reserves

Alan Mozo – RB - OVR 74>>80
Usually when a defender picks up two goal contributions, they are in strong contention for a position in TOTW. Mozo went one further and picked up a third, something which happens only a few times a season. Whats even better about this is it comes against the reputable Club America. Mozo provided all three assists during a 3-1 away win and as a result walks into TOTW 11.

Marius Bulter – ST - OVR 70>>78
For consecutive weeks we are looking at a Schalke IF now which when you consider both are non-gold is a rarity. There were not many options for the reserves this week in comparison to previous sides and thus two goals, two assists and a perfect 1 from Kicker really stood out when selecting this side.

Mustapha Yatabare – ST - OVR 71>>78
Both Yatabare and Gradel have strong shouts for a spot in this week's side and although I almost went for Gradel the amount of LW’s compared to strikers put me off and thus I ended up going the way of Yatabare. The Mali international scored three times, all three of which were assisted by Gradel during their 4-0 home win.

Thomas Lehne Olsen – ST - OVR 68>>77
Lillestrom are falling off the pace of the current top three in Norway but their most recent result, a 4-1 away win over Stromsgodset should fill them with confidence. Olsen was the stand out performance of the match, scoring three of the four goals and thus finds himself extremely likely of picking up an IF.

Marco Ruben – ST - OVR 74>>80
Although it looks as though these cards can receive IF’s, EA may only be able to give them to certain divisions. Argentina looks to be one of those eligible with Ruben’s team mate, Vecchio getting in the previous side. Rosario now looks set for back-to-back IF’s though after a Ruben hat trick helped them towards a 4-1 away win over Colon.
