Team Of The Week 12 Predictions | TOTW

In terms of predicting this was a very difficult week with numerous options being available and having to narrow it down to just 23 was a real challenge. There are some big names included however with the likes of Coman, Immobile, Kessie and Silva all making the TOTW 12 Prediction.

Goalkeeper

Predrag Rajkovic – GK - OVR 78>>82
Reims shocked Lyon with a 2-1 away win on Wednesday as the hosts continue to drop down the Ligue 1 table. Both Rajkovic and Abdelhamid received an 8/10 from the French news outlet but as is often the case with TOTW we are likely to see another Ligue 1 keeper feature. That is after Rajkovic made a total of five saves to help ensure the three points went home with Reims.

Defenders

Eder Militao – CB - OVR 82>>84
Militao has struggled to get gametime for Madrid since making the high profile move from Portugal and has struggled to make an impact on the few opportunities that have arisen. Finally, the Brazilian is showing why they made the move for him though with two impressive performances this week, helping to keep two clean sheets and being named MOTM in both. A recent number Up promotion inclusion is a slight risk here but with it not being a performance-based inclusion I feel that Militao can sneak in.

Ezri Konsa – CB - OVR 78>>84
The featured player last week was somewhat of a random inclusion and although my featured player featured as a regular inclusion it was still somewhat frustrating that it wasn’t entirely correct. Under practically the exact same reasons a last week I have opted for Konsa with the central defender both being a strong FIFS option and also deserving an extra boost for his overall performance. Villa have looked impressive under Gerrard so far with the latest being a 2-1 win over Leicester. Konsa scored both of those goals and thus is an easy choice for TOTW.

Frederic Guilbert – RB - OVR 76>>81
It was an insane week for Strasbourg of whom recorded two big wins, seeing 4 players feature in the midweek TOTW while also having 4 feature during the weekend. Both matches are difficult to select IF’s from and we could even see two Strasbourg IF’s as a result. Guilbert is my selection from the weekend fixtures after a solid performance at the back making multiple tackles and interceptions to help keep the clean sheet during a 3-0 win over Nice. L’equipe then went on to award him an 8/10.

Midfielders

Kingsley Coman – RM - OVR 86>>87
Munich came out on top of a very controversial 3-2 win over Dortmund this weekend with Lewandowski claiming MOTM. The Polish striker can’t receive an IF this week however I still feel that Munich will feature. Coman is then the best option after receiving the same match rating as Lewan for his goal, a 1.5.

Franck Kessie – CM - OVR 84>>86
I am still in complete awe that Mertens didn’t receive an IF last week after being awarded a 9/10 with the only explanation being that EA missed the game. I am still sticking with the Gazzetta route though and thus we have Kessie. The Ivorian scored the opener in Milan’s 2-0 win over Salerntina and picked up an impressive 8 match rating by doing so.

Bernardo Silva – CM - OVR 86>>87
Manchester City climbed to the top of the table on Saturday via a 3-1 win against Watford. Silva scored two of those three goals from CM and looks set to be an obvious selection as a result. A slight relief for those who failed to complete his SBC earlier in the game as Silva is a very fun card to use.

Fred – CDM - OVR 81>>84
Initially Fred was a tough call with Ronaldo being the stand out player with two goals for United during a 3-2 win over Arsenal while the Brazilian assisted twice. That decision was then made significantly easier with Fred performing again on Sunday, scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace which sees Rangnick get off to a winning start at the club.

Vicenzo Grifo – LM - OVR 79>>84
It looks as though the gap needed between IF’s is set at 5 weeks barring exceptional performances going from what we have seen so far from EA. Grifo hits the five-week gap exactly and thus makes it an easy choice for his inclusion. Freiburg manage a 6-0 win away at Gladbach this weekend, of which all of the damage was done in the first half. Grifo provided the assist on three of those six goals and thus Kicker awarded him a perfect 1 match rating.

Forwards

Ciro Immobile – ST - OVR 87>>88
In terms of big-name strikers, we had next to none with most of those who had a chance already featuring in TOTGS and thus being unable to be included. One player who can make the cut however is Ciro Immobile. The Italian scored twice for Lazio as they went on to record a 3-1 away win over Sampdoria. Gazzetta awarded Immobile a 7.5 which in comparison to other strikers makes him a safe bet.

Giovanni Simeone – ST - OVR 75>>86
Simeone added another two goals to his tally for the season, taking him to 11 in 15 Serie A games. Which when you consider he is playing for Verona is something special. The Argentine is having a season to remember and looks set to pick up another special item this Wednesday after his two goals saw Gazzetta award him a 7.5. Verona went on to win the seven-goal thriller 4-3 as a result.

Substitutes

Lukasz Skorpuski – GK - OVR 75>>81
There was no stand out keeper performances from those classed as elite this week and thus we are likely to see two lower rated golds included instead. Skorupski is the second choice I have made after he made a total of six saves to keep a clean sheet during a 1-0 win over Roma. Gazzetta awarded the stopper MOTM with a 7.5

Pape Abou Cisse – CB - OVR 76>>81
With Cisse being a gold option instead of a silver he went from having a good chance of making the side to almost being a certainty. The Senegalese defender scored twice for Olympiakos on Saturday as they recorded a 3-1 away win over Crete.

Martin Terrier – LW - OVR 77>>81
Although PSG are running away with Ligue 1, as expected of them, Rennes will be extremely happy with what they are achieving this season so far. Their latest result, a 5-0 win over Etienne, saw them climb into second position. A couple of IF options were present from the game but Terrier looks the most likely, scoring three from the wing.

Hakan Calhanoglu – CM - OVR 82>>84
Hakan has been on the fringe of several TOTW predictions but so far, I have been right not to include him. This week I feel he has finally done enough for an inclusion however after scoring once and assisting another as Inter Milan climbed into second via an impressive 3-0 away win over Roma, who have now lost seven in 15 under Mourinho.

Serdar Dursun – ST - OVR 75>>81
Turkey has been a difficult country to predict IF’s from so far this season with a multitude of snubs coming their way. Dursun however is an easy selection, with a hat trick helping his side Fenerbahçe towards a comfortable 4-0 win over Rizespor.

Patrik Schick – ST - OVR 79>>82
Most people will be aware of Schick simply due to the magnificent performances for Czech Republic during the most recent European Championship, specifically his strike from the halfway line. The 25-year-old is continuing to excel in the Bundesliga and thanks to four goals this weekend he now stands on 12 in 11 for the season for Leverkusen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a high profile move for him sometime soon.

Luis Miguel Rodriguez – ST - OVR 78>>82
It’s rare to see so many low rated gold strikers perform to the level we have seen this week but as a result we have three bench hat tricks, the final coming during Gimnasia’s 4-4 draw at home to Estudiantes. With it being a draw and the fact that Rodriguez also missed a penalty there is a slight risk attached but a gold hat trick is something which very rarely gets ignored regardless

Reserves

Adam Davies – GK - OVR 71>>78
For some reason EA end up snubbing at least 90% of non-gold goalkeepers but still they become very difficult not to predict at times. Davies was phenomenal between the sticks for Stoke this weekend, making a total of nine saves, one of which was a penalty. During a 2-0 win for the Potters.

Timo Baumgartl – CB - OVR 72>>79
For those expecting to see Messias in the reserves I am hoping that he will instead be the silver star and in turn the best silver TOTW player we may ever see. In terms of TOTW though I have opted for Baumgartl of whom was involved in both Berlin goals during an impressive 2-1 win over Leipzig with both a goal and assist. Kicker awarded him a strong 1.5 match rating and with minimal hat tricks I feel that he has a strong chance this week.

Kaly Sene – ST - OVR 60>>70
It has been a few weeks since I have [predicted a silver IF with the bronze players not performing as of late. Sene changed the trend this weekend however, scoring three times for Grasshopper as they recorded a 4-0 away win over St Gallen.

Matias Tissera – ST - OVR 63>>73
And just like that we have a second silver IF option, this time over in Argentina, which is slightly risky due to another hat trick in the division being likely. Tissera is one of only three non-gold hat tricks this week though and thus all should end up featuring come Wednesday.

Astrit Selmani – ST - OVR 67>>76
A second player with four goals this week, although a much lower profile is still just as worthy as Schick for an inclusion. Selmani scored four of five Hammarby goals during their eight-goal thriller with Kalma
