Team Of The Week 14 Predictions | TOTW

For the first time in a while, it’s safe to say that we have a strong side incoming with several high rated and usable options presenting themselves alongside another OTW upgrade. With Christmas just around the corner, I wish you all the best in packing the likes of Haaland, KDB, Gnabry, Cancelo or Cuadrado.

Goalkeeper

Jordan Pickford – GK - OVR 83>>85
It’s really difficult to predict keepers outside of either Bundesliga or Ligue 1 with clear preference being shown towards those two divisions. Pickford surely must be mentioned for his performance against Chelsea though. The English international often underperform for Everton in comparison to what he shows at international level but put in one of his best performances on Thursday evening. Making a total of nine saves he singlehandedly ensured that Everton came away with something during a 1-1 draw with Chelsea

Defenders

Juan Cuadrado – RB - OVR 83>>85
Cuadrado has been scoring a few goals recently and multiple people have been calling for his IF. Gazzetta has been consistently awarded him low match ratings despite the goals and thus I have correctly snubbed him to date. The Colombian finally picked up a respectable 7 to go alongside his goal this weekend during a 2-0 win over Bologna and thus could finally see himself included into TOTW.

Denzel Dumfries – RB - OVR 82>>84
The number of RB’s this week is slightly worrying this week with at least one likely to end up missing out. That could easily be Dumfries but I feel that Inter will feature this week. Hakan was the obvious choice but with a recent POTM card, I feel that EA will end up snubbing his two assists as a result. We then move on to the second-best option which is Dumfries. The Dutchman scored once and picked up a 7 from Gazzetta as Inter Milan recorded a 5-0 win.

Joao Cancelo – RB - OVR 86>>88
The first of two Manchester City players I have decided to feature in this week's prediction is Cancelo. With both options coming from different matches, I can see them both making the cut despite two from the same side being a rarity in TOTW. Cancelo has been a dominant force in the Premier League this season and continued his fine form this weekend during City’s 4-0 win over Newcastle. The Portuguese defender scored once, assisted another and helped towards the clean sheet. The other risk is the recent TOTGS inclusion but with this potential IF being a lower rating, I can’t see that being too much of an issue

Midfielders

Serge Gnabry – RM - OVR 85>>87
For the first time in a while, it looks as though we could be looking at a strong TOTW, we continue the theme with the first midfielder, Gnabry, the German midfielder was heavily involved during Munich’s 5-0 demolition of Stuttgart on Tuesday, scoring three times from RM to claim a perfect 1 match rating from Kicker. I still find it crazy that Gnabry struggled while playing for WBA.

Kevin De Bruyne – CM - OVR 90>>91
Usually, with the premier League having two sets of fixtures this week which count towards the upcoming TOTW, the side would be packed with PL players. Due to covid cancellations, the games that were actually played are very limited though. Manchester City played both their games however and with a 7-0 win against Leeds being recorded an IF is inevitable and we could even see more. KDB is the best choice from the opening fixture having scored two of the seven and being named MOTM with an impressive 9/10 match rating.

Hans Vanaken – CM - OVR 78>>81
There was a time when Vanaken picked up some usable cards on FIFA, this however will not be one of them. Nevertheless, the Belgium deserves to be here more than most after picking up three assists for Club Brugge as they went on to beat Leuven 4-1 away from home.

Rafa– RW - OVR 82>>84
Benfica are recording some crazy results this past month with their most recent win, a 7-1 victory over Martimo making it 25 goals from their last five league matches. Rafa was the stand out performer from the match, being involved in five of the seven goals with one goal and four assists. His IF is quite pointless with the squad foundations card already available but a deserved IF regardless.

Forwards

Gerard Moreno – ST - OVR 86>>87
Although Moreno is more of a fodder option it's still another high rated player that looks very likely to feature in TOTW 14. The Spanish forward scored twice and assisted another during Villarreal’s 3-1 away win over Sociedad, making it four consecutive losses for the hosts.

Deulofeu – ST - OVR 79>>84
With Deulofeu playing a ST role this weekend the Spaniard looks set to pick up a positional change which will be greeted warmly by the FIFA community and whats more he looks set to be the featured player this week. He gets the nod after scoring twice for Udinese and claiming an 8/10 from Gazzetta as Udinese recorded a 4-0 win away at Cagliari

Erling Haaland – ST - OVR 88>>89
With this being the side that will be out over Christmas EA will want some big-name players to feature. Thankfully a lot of those pick themselves but I still feel that those on the fringe, like Haaland will still be opted for to increase the attractiveness of the side. The Norwegian is always among the goals but is still yet to pick up an IF. Despite Dortmund losing this weekend, his midweek brace helped them towards a win during the midweek set of fixtures.

Substitutes

Jeremias Ledesma – GK - OVR 77>>81
Looking at the statistics for this match I honestly have no idea how Real Madrid failed to win the match with 36 attempts on goal, nine of which were on target the Spanish league leaders still failed to hit the back of the net meaning the result stayed at 0-0. Ledesma is the obvious candidate for the IF and one I can’t see EA snubbing.

Silvan Widmer – CB - OVR 75>>81
Mainz continues to impress during the 2021/22 season with a convincing 4-0 home win over Hertha Berlin. There were a couple of defensive options from the match but with Widmer being gold and picking up two offensive contributions, with both a goal and an assist it should easily be the Swiss defender that picks up the IF on Wednesday.

Amos Pieper – CB - OVR 75>>81
It was a successful week for Armenia of which recorded consecutive 2-0 wins, the first against Bochum before the latter being an impressive win over Leipzig. The latter is where the Pieper IF occurs from with the central defender being named MOTM with a 2-match rating from Kicker while also featuring in their TOTW. With the lack of Bundesliga options, I feel that this will help him on his way.

Gabriel Martinelli – LM - OVR 76>>81
Back-to-back wins for Arsenal, a 2-0 win over WH before beating Leeds 4-1 see them continue their strong form and move up into 4th position. Martinelli was involved in both games, scoring one during West Ham before then hitting a brace against Leeds. Specifically, the Brazilian gets in for his performance against Leeds but the goal against West Ham also helps the decision for the eventual inclusion.

Jorge Molina – ST - OVR 77>>81
There's pointless IF’s in FIFA and then there's Molina. I can’t even see the most optimistic of players using this potential card. With less than 40 pace to his name, even Mertesacker would be giving him a run for his money. His spot in the side however cannot be questioned after scoring a hat trick for Granada on Sunday as they went on to beat Mallorca 4-1.

Yousef El Arabi – ST - OVR 79>>82
Arabi scores for fun now that he is over in the Greek league for Olympiakos and consistently picks up IF’s since joining. Although two of his goals were from the penalty spot this week with a hat trick to his name in a week full of cancellations I feel as though it would be difficult for EA to then go and overlook him.

Tammy Abraham – ST - OVR 78>>82
Winning for Roma under the Mourinho era has been a rarity for them with the special one struggling during his early days at the club. A third consecutive win was recorded this weekend however and it was an impressive one at that, coming away with a 4-1 win against Atalanta. Abraham, Smalling and Patricio all stand a chance of gaining the IF but with Tammy scoring twice I feel like he has the upper hand.

Reserves

Marco Richter – RM - OVR 74>>80
A surprise 3-2 win over Dortmund was the result this weekend for Hertha and from said match, Richter was named POTW with a 1.5 match rating. This was after the German midfielder found the back of the net on two occasions. Normally this would be snubbed due to the number of hat tricks but with just three this week it leaves the door open for what would be a deserved inclusion for the German.

Yorbe Vertessen – RW - OVR 69>>77
The reserves section was a difficult one this week and thus it leaves the door open for those who would perhaps miss out without a weaker field. Vertessen was named POTW in the Eredivisie with an impressive 8.5 match rating after he came off the bench to score twice and assist another during a 4-1 PSV win. The youngster will be hoping this performance can help propel him into more PSV sides.

Nikola Doveden – CAM - OVR 66>>75
We were limited on performances from silvers this week and thus a hat trick will practically guarantee your spot in TOTW 14. That is exactly what Doveden managed, scoring all three Nurnberg goals during their 3-1 away win over Erzgebirge.

Shamar Nicholson – ST - OVR 71>>78
Back over to the Belgian Pro League now, which is slightly risky as it is very rare for more than one to be included from that division. I would say that applies more to the Vanaken inclusion however as Nicholson is pretty nailed on. The Jamaican striker scored three times and provided an assist for good measure during Charleroi’s 4-0 away win over Eupen.

Jordan Siebatcheu – ST - OVR 72>>79
Ending off the prediction we have one of the most nailed on players this week in Siebatcheu. The American scored four times for Young Boys as they dispatched of Lugano 5-0. Still eight points off leaders Zurich the reigning champions have a lot of work to do should they retain their title.
