TOTW 3 Predictions FIFA 23

The first FUT champs side offers plenty of usable options giving players more reason to grind to qualification. With FUT favourites such as Ben Yedder, Foden and Leao all making the prediction.

Kevin Trapp - GK - 86 > 87 OVR

5 saves and clean sheet  /  2-0 win against Union Berlin  /  8.1 Match Rating

There were only a handful of goalkeeping options this week but those selected are very likely to end up in EA’s side. Trapp is the first after he made five saves to help ensure 10 men Frankfurt maintained all three points.

Jonathan Clauss - LWB - 80 > 85 OVR - FEATURED

One goal, two assists and clean sheet  /  3-0 win against Angers  /  8 Match Rating

Although there is a slight risk of an OTW for Clauss in team 2, with no official confirmation I simply can not ignore him for this side. Involved in all three Marseille goals the Frenchman did what he does best on the opposite flank to usual.

Chris Smalling - CB - 81 > 84 OVR

One goal  /  2-1 win against Inter Milan  /  7.5 Match Rating

Roma inflicted more pain onto Inter fans, making it four losses in the past six matches for them. Smalling grabbed the winner in the 75th minute and alongside his MOTM award should feature in TOTW 3.

Pau Torres - CB - 83 > 85 OVR

Clean sheet  /  0-0 draw against Cadiz  /  8.1 Match Rating

A tight affair between Cadiz and Villarreal saw both sides fail to score. Defensive displays were where both sides excelled with Torres specifically standing out for his last man challenge to deny Cadiz.

Rafael Leao - LM - 84 > 86 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  3-1 win against Empoli  /  8 Match Rating

Leao is a name you will see on a regular basis in FIFA 23 whether its in promo’s on simply opposing sides. The youngster is one of the brightest talents, involved in two of three Milan goals this weekend he received the highest rating of the week in Italy.

Zambo Anguissa - CM - 81 > 84 OVR

Two goals  /  3-1 win against Torino  /  8 Match Rating

Napoli continued their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable 3-1 win, Anguissa was named MOTM after scoring two of those three goals thus should find himself in TOTW 3.

Sergej Milinkovic Savic - CM - 86 > 87 OVR

Two goals  /  4-0 win against Spezia  /  7.5 Match Rating

Continuing the Serie A theme we move onto another big player in SMS. The Serbian was unlucky not to grab a third but regardless of that should still feature after a brace and a 7.5

Jamal Musiala - CAM - 81 > 84 OVR

One goal, two assists  /  4-0 win against Leverkusen  /  9.0 Match Rating

With Lewandowski out of the side it has given Musiala more gametime with the youngster not having to compete with Muller. He continues to thrive in his development and his performance this weekend is a sign of things to come.

Timo Werner - LM - 82 > 84 OVR

Two goals  /  4-0 win against Bochum  /  8.8 Match Rating

This one could go to either Nkunku or Werner. I have opted for the latter due to Nkunku missing a penalty alongside Werner also receiving the slightly higher match rating. Its great to see the German regain his confidence.

Phil Foden - RW - 85 > 86 OVR

Three goals  /  6-3 win against Manchester United  /  10 Match Rating

With Haaland currently in packs as a OTW I expect him to miss out despite five goal involvements. Instead we move to Foden with three goals who is a very strong second best. Its clear to see that Manchester is still blue as it stands.

Wissam Ben Yedder - ST - 84 > 86 OVR

Hat trick  /  4-1 win against Nantes  /  9 Match Rating

Another strong IF now with Ben Yedder. Always a fan favourite in FIFA and this year will likely be no different. The Frenchman is nailed on for TOTW 3 after scoring three times and claiming a 9 from L’equipe

Substitutes

Illan Meslier - GK - 77 > 81 OVR

6 Saves and clean sheet  /  0-0 draw against Aston Villa  /  8/10 Match Rating

The evening match on Sunday saw a bore draw in the PL. Things could have been different without Meslier though, who kept 10 men Leeds in the match on multiple occasions.

Kevin Danso - CB - 75 > 81 OVR

Cleansheet  /  1-0 win against Lyon  /  8/10 Match Rating

Lens remain unbeaten, now nine games into the Ligue 1 campaign. An impressive 1-0 win against Lyon was their most recent and it easily could have been more. Danso was named MOTM with a high match rating and looks to be a very strong cheap IF.

Granit Xhaka - CDM - 79 > 82 OVR

One goal  /  3-1 win against Tottenham  /  8/10 Match Rating

Xhaka has looked back at his best this season and another goal during the North London Derby continued that form. With two goals and three assists from CDM this campaign he is among the best overall performers in the division.

Leandro Trossard - CAM - 79 > 82 OVR

Hat trick  /  3-3 draw against Liverpool  / 9/10 Match Rating

A back-and-forth game saw Brighton continue to excel in the absence of Potter, suggesting they can continue push for European football. Trossard was the stand-out performer scoring all three of Brighton’s goals while denying Firmino of his potential IF.

Miguel Almiron - RW - 78 > 82 OVR

Two goals  /  4-1 win against Fulham  /  9/10 Match Rating

Newcastle were without a win in five before this weekend and knew Fulham was a must win game to get back on track. They managed that in style winning convincingly with Almiron reliving that pre season form with two goals from the right.

Alexander Sorloth - ST - 76 > 81 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  5-3 win against Girona  /  9.8 Match Rating

There were only a few IF candidates from La Liga this week and one will inevitably come from Sociedad’s eight goal thriller. Involved in three goal, Sorloth seems to be the likely IF.

Niklas Fullkrug - ST - 75 > 81 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  5-1 win against Gladbach  /  10 Match Rating

Strikers were few and far between for TOTW but Fullkrug cruises into the side after heavily featuring during a surprising comfortable win for Werder Bremen
