TOTW 7 Predictions FIFA 23

We have been treated well so far in terms of TOTW with no sides really disappointing. This could easily be the first though with Mane being the only big name nailed on. De Bruyne is also included but he is far from a certainty. Osimhen, De Vrij and a potential featured Atal are the only other names worth mentioning.

Gregor Kobel - GK - 83 > 85 OVR

Five saves  /  2-2 win against Frankfurt  /  Bundesliga POTW

There are a few goalkeepers which will miss out this week with several performing well. Kobel is my first choice after Kicker named him player of the week, after his five saves ensured Dortmund took home all three points.

Nicolas Tagliafico - LB - 81 > 84 OVR

Assist and clean sheet  /  1-0 win against Lille  /  8 Match Rating

It was a tight encounter in the Derby De Nord with Lacazette scoring the only goal of the game in the 74th minute. Tagliafico provided the assist on that goal while also putting in a strong defensive display.

Alex Moreno - LB - 80 > 83 OVR

Two assists and clean sheet  /  2-0 win against Sociedad  /  8.1 Match Rating

Real Betis leapfrogged Sociedad into 4th after securing a 2-0 win against them on Sunday. Both Moreno and Rui Silva excelled but with goalkeepers being competitive this week I expect it to be Moreno who makes the side.

Stefan De Vrij - CB - 84 > 86 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  3-0 win against Sampdoria  /  7 Match Rating

Inter made it four wins on the bounce with a convincing win over Sampdoria. There were a few defensive mentions from this match but De Vrij’s goal is the stand out option.

Youcef Atal - RB - 75 > 84 OVR - FEATURED TOTW

Goal  /  2-1 win against Lorient  /  7 Match rating

There were only a few Ligue 1 options once again this week, thus I expect a couple of fringe players to make the cut. Atal is one of those after he made L’equipe’s TOTW for a goal during a 2-1 win.

Sadio Mane - LM - 89 > 90 OVR > (OTW 91 OVR)

One goal, two assists  /  6-2 win against Mainz  /  1.5 Match Rating

Mane has changed two sides with his move in the summer. His performances for Munich have been of top quality while Liverpool continue to struggle without him. Bayern managed six different scorers this weekend which makes the selection somewhat difficult but with an additional two assists to his name Mane should be getting another OTW upgrade.

Rodrigo Bentancur - CM - 79 > 82 OVR

One goal  /  3-2 win against Bournemouth  /  8 Match Rating

Falling two goals behind early on it was set to be a shocking day for Tottenham. It was a story of two halfs though with goals in the 57th, 73rd and eventually the 91st, scored by Bentancur, securing all three points for Spurs.

Kevin De Bruyne - CM - 91 > 93 OVR

One goal  /  1-0 win against Leicester  /  8 Match Rating

EA are in desperate need of a couple of names to beef this side up and with De Bruyne featuring in TOTW 1, six weeks ago. I believe theres a chance they opt for him to become the first SIF this year.

Antonio Candreva - RM - 80 > 83 OVR

Goal and assist  /  3-1 win against Lazio  /  7.5 Match Rating

Salernitana inflicted Lazio’s second loss of the season with a 3-1 win. Candreva was involved in two of those goals with both a goal and assist to be named MOTM.

Alexey Miranchuk - CAM - 78 > 82 OVR

One goal  /  2-1 win against AC Milan  /  7.5 Match Rating

Torino ended AC Milan’s four game winning streak with a shock 2-1 win. Although there is no clear cut option from the match, with a 7.5 Gazzetta rating Miranchuk becomes a viable option.

Victor Osimhen - ST - 83 > 85 OVR

Hat trick  /  4-0 win against Sassuolo  /  8.5 Match Rating

Napoli continue to show they mean business this season with a routine 4-0 win. The usual suspects excelled but it is Osimhen who is most likely to receive the IF. The Nigerian striker received an 8.5 from Gazzetta making him POTW.

Substitutes

Illan Meslier - GK - 77 > 81 OVR

9 Saves  /  2-1 win against Liverpool  /  9 Match Rating

For the second consecutive week the sides goalkeeper facing Liverpool is set for an IF. It was Meslier’s turn this week and although he has been snubbed a couple of times this season, against Liverpool I doubt this one gets overlooked.

Waldemar Anton - RB - 75 > 81 OVR

Goal  /  2-1 win against Augsburg  /  2 Match Rating

There were a ton of options when it came to defenders this week and while six may be slightly overkill I do feel its a realistic representation of the past week. Anton is another who makes the side, scoring one of Stuttgart’s two goals as they beat Augsburg.

Alfonso Espino - LB - 78 > 82 OVR

Two assists  /  3-2 win against Atletico Madrid  /  7.2 Match Rating

Although Espino’s match rating was not the best considering Cadiz managed to upset Atletico and we have a gold defender with two attacking returns I simply cannot ignore Espino for this side.

Robert Zulj - CAM - 75 > 81 OVR

Hat trick  /  4-1 win against Wolfsberger  /  9 Match Rating

With the reserves section being tightly contested as per usual the fact Zulj is a 75 rated gold increases his chances significantly. Not the best card for FUT but an easy selection for me.

Michy Batshuayi - ST - 77 > 81 OVR

Three goals, one assist  /  5-2 win against Istanbulspor  /  9.9 Match Rating

There were several high scoring matches over in Turkey this week but the IF decision is an easy one to make. Batshuayi was involved in four goals while also being a gold option.

Callum Wilson - ST - 79 > 82 OVR

Two goals, two assists  /  4-0 win against Aston Villa  /  9 Match Rating

Newcastle continue their impressive form with a convincing win over Villa. Wilson was involved in all four of their goals. Moving them into the top four while also giving Southgate something to think about.

Lois Openda - ST - 75 > 81 OVR

Hat trick  /  3-0 win against Toulouse  /  MOTM

With the score still at deadlock early on in the second half Lens made the decision to sub Openda on, It was a decision which more than paid off with the Belgian finding the net on three occasions to secure the points.
