Vinícius Jr. – 77 OVR > 86 OVR

Now it could very well be the case that Vinicius Jnr is still a few years off his prime, but I think it's fair to say he is already a massive star, no longer one for the future he's one for now.

He entered FUT as a 77-rated item in FIFA 19, and his current base item is the 3rd most used item in FUT 23, that tells you a lot, he’s come a long way in a short amount of time. Since his future stars item was released, he's won two league titles, and a champions league - scoring the match-winning goal.

How many special cards do you think Vini Jr will get this season?

Matthijs de Ligt – 80 OVR > 85 OVR

Matthijs De Ligt quickly became an ultimate team favourite after his series of informs in FIFA 18, he ended this title with a TOTS item, and then in FIFA 19 was included in the future stars class, he ended that FIFA with another TOTS inclusion, and followed that up with a 96 rated TOTY in FIFA 20.

After leaving Ajax with a lot of hype behind him, he had a couple of good years at Juventus winning a league title, and two domestic trophies, before moving on to Bayern Munich.

He may not have hit the dizzying heights of his 96-rated FIFA 20 Team of the Year item, but how will De Ligt perform this year?

Jadon Sancho – 78 OVR > 84 OVR

Now its time to discuss Jadon Sancho, and this one is a tough one to grade, he started out FUT19 as a non-rare silver, picked up numerous informs, and a couple of POTM cards, and of course was included in the Future Stars class, before getting a TOTS item at the end of the game, an amazing rise for the youngster.

He continued to impress for the next two seasons and then earned a BIG money move to Manchester United and that's where things take a turn…since the move things just haven’t worked out for the winger - he only managed 4 goal involvements in 29 games in his debut season for the Manchester club and since has struggled with both form and injuries.

There is absolutely no reason to write him off at 22 and hopefully, a return to form comes for the youngster and a return to the Team of the Season squads before too long.

Éder Militão – 75 OVR > 84 OVR

Oh Eder Militao, how we’ve come to love you in our FUT squads over the years.

Since FIFA 19 and the Porto days, he’s been terrorising us in FUT Champs, and this year, his Team of the Year item is the tip of the iceberg.

How much further will Militao go in the coming season and years to come?

Phil Foden – 73 OVR > 85 OVR

Phil Foden is 22 and has 4 premier league titles to his name already, incredible.

He seems to get better each year and is without a doubt no longer a future star, but an outright star of English football.

After a standout year in FIFA 22 with close to double-digit unique cards, let’s see how far Phil can go in FIFA 23.

Frenkie De Jong – 77 OVR > 87 OVR

Frenkie De Jong graduated from Ajax with a very well-rounded Future Stars item in FIFA 19, and it’s safe to say has lived up to his expectation in recent years.

A Team of the Year item following his transfer to Barcelona, and a couple of big Team of the Season items have shown Frenkie has risen to the heights as expected.

After a rocky patch at Barcelona in recent months, where will De Jong end up to continue his already successful career?

Houssem Aouar – 78 OVR > 79 OVR

French midfielder Houssem Aouar has been a UT favourite for a few years now, and after getting 4 Team of the Season inclusions in a row, the sky looked the limit for him, since then though his form has dropped a little, and it’s shown in his FUT ratings.

Still a good player on his day, but he isn’t currently performing at the high levels that were expected of him now he is still only 24, his prime years are still ahead of him, and he could still end up being a huge success.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 78 OVR > 87 OVR

Trent Alexander Arnold is already a Liverpool Icon at 24, the fullback has been involved in some incredible moments for the reds, he’s appeared in 3 champions league finals already, winning one of them.

Although he has come under recent criticism for his defensive displays, he was for years in the conversation for the best fullback in the world, and at his age, that’s a big compliment.
