TOTW 18 Predictions FIFA 23

Although the base of TOTW 18 is rather standard there are several key players to stand out giving the hope of packing one of the elite players. Headlining we have Hernandez, Foden and another shot at Mbappe.

Koen Casteels - GK - 84 > 87 OVR

Five saves and clean sheet  /  Koln 0 - Wolfsburg 2  /  2 Kicker Rating

Although it was Baumann who was named keeper of the week in Germany, with his side losing 1-0 it is unlikely he will feature. Casteels was named MOTM from his fixture however which although he failed to make Germany's TOTW can still be enough for EA’s version of the side.

Theo Hernandez - LB - 85 > 88 OVR

MOTM and clean sheet  /  AC Milan 2 - Atalanta 0  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

With Inter slipping up to Bologna it gave AC the chance to go level on points with their rivals. They took the chance well against a talented Atalanta side. Hernandez went on to receive MOTM with a strong Gazzetta rating with his striker coming off the post and keeper before reaching the back of the net.

Gimenez - CB - 83 > 86 OVR

Goal  /  Real Madrid 1 - Atletico Madrid 1  /  7.8 Whoscored Rating

Gimenez started this match on the bench but was quickly introduced after a Reinaldo injury in the 21st. That turned out to have a silver lining with the Uruguayan scoring the opener in the 78th minute. Atletico were then pegged back but I can still see Gimenez receiving the IF.

Junior Firpo - LB - 75 > 83 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Leeds 1 - Southampton 0  /  8 Sky Rating

Scoring the only goal of the game Firpo was named MOTM as Leeds recorded three points against struggling Southampton. With all three sides around Leeds losing the result takes them out of the relegation zone.

Phil Foden - RM - 85 > 87 OVR

Goal and assist  /  Bournemouth 1 - Man City 4  /  8 Sky Rating

The Premier League title race looks set to be a tight encounter with City, Arsenal and even United set to battle it out in the final third of the season, City recorded a routine 4-1 win this weekend with Foden standing out via a goal and assist.

Thomas Muller - CAM - 87 > 88 OVR

Two assists  /  Munich 3 - Berlin 0  /  2 Kicker Rating

When you think of Union Berlin you don’t think of title contenders but that's exactly what they are right now. Munich has now taken the front foot after a 3-0 win this weekend but Berlin deserves a lot of praise for what they have managed so far. Muller was named MOTM after his two assists helped gain three a huge three points.

Antonio Candreva - CM - 80 > 86 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Salernitana 3 - Monza 0  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

Monza has been picking up some impressive results recently but Salernitana took them back to reality this weekend with a comfortable 3-0 win over them. Candreva was involved in most of the action going forward contributing to two goals in the process.

Junya Ito - RM - 78 > 87 OVR

One goal, two assists  /  Reims 3 - Toulouse 0  /  8 L’equipe Rating

There were only three sides to feature within the eleven TOTW spots from L’equipe, all three will likely feature in TOTW 18. Ito was the solitary Reims player having been involved in all three of their goals against Toulouse making him an easy selection.

Franco Vazquez - CAM - 76 > 87 OVR

Two goals  /  Frosinone 3 - Parma 4  /  8.3 Sofascore Rating

An enthralling encounter between Frosinone and Parma saw seven goals and two red cards. Despite being reduced to nine men it was Parma who came out on top and in turn, could see us gain a very interesting IF. If you can get past his pace Vazquez looks to be an insane CAM option.

M’Bala Nzola - ST - 73 > 86 OVR

Two goals  /  Udinese 2 - Spezia 2  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

In terms of striker options, there were very few gold ones which stood out. Due to that, I feel we could see one of the featured spots awarded to a strong silver candidate. Nzola fits the bill well with a good-looking card upon a featured upgrade.

Kylian Mbappe - ST - 91 > 93 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  PSG 3 - Marseille 0  /  9 L’equipe Rating

Mbappe was snubbed last week with the same number of goal contributions but once again he is nigh on impossible to ignore from a prediction POV. This week L’equipe even awarded him the higher match rating of nine. With the match being against rivals Marseille surely he doesn't miss out this time around.

Substitutes

Alberto Brignoli - GK - 75 > 83 OVR

Five saves and clean sheet  /  Olympiacos 0 - Panathinaikos 0  /  MOTM

Olympiacos and Panathinaikos battle out one of the most fierce rivalries in Europe. Although the division rarely receives IFs this is one match which often stands out. I have taken a punt with Brignoli after he made several saves to ensure 10 men Olympiacos came away with something.

Thiago Almada - CAM - 76 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Atlanta 2 - San Jose 1  /  9.4 Whoscored Rating

It was the return of the MLS this week and as a result, I expect the see the division included one way or another. Almada looks to be the best candidate after he scored in both the 92nd and 98th minute to turn the game around late on.

Gabriel Veiga - CM - 61 > 80 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Celta Vigo 3 - Real Valladolid 0  /  9.7 Whoscored Rating

Onto one of the easiest selections of the week now with Veiga. The Spanish midfielder was involved in all three Vigo goals on Sunday, scoring two and assisting another.

Jae Sung Lee - CM - 76 > 83 OVR

Goal and assist  /  Mainz 4 - Gladbach 0  /  1.5 Kicker Rating

Another recently snubbed player for TOTW, Jae Sung Lee. Once again the Korean excelled for Mainz with another goal and assist for his club. It was an impressive result for Mainz and with another 1.5 to his name, this time around he must gain the IF.

Oliver Skipp - CM - 77 > 83 OVR

Goal  /  Tottenham 2 - Chelsea 0  /  8 Sky Rating

With Chelsea’s current form just about anyone in the Premiership can beat them but this is still a big game for both sides. Tottenham came out on top with a 2-0 win. Skipp opened the scoring and also received MOTM. He is fringe for this side but I think the fixture carries him through.

Martin Braithwaite - ST - 76 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Espanyol 2 - Mallorca 1  /  7.9 Whoscored Rating

Braithwaite has been somewhat of a meme in past years. Whether that's a failed stint at Middlesbrough or a transfer to Barcelona with a rather lacklustre showing at the signing announcement. Since moving to La Liga, the Danish striker has been respectable, and two goals this weekend puts him in line for an IF.

Danny Ings - ST - 79 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  West Ham 4 - Nottingham Forest 0  /  8 Sky Rating

This Premier League clash was a tight encounter until deep into the match when Ings opened the scoring in the 71st minute. The floodgates then opened though with the final score perhaps being misleading. By the 78th minute, West Ham was 3-0 up and Ings had doubled his total.

Reserves

Elliot Watt (CM)  - Three assists - Mansfield 2 - Salford 5

Michael Santos (ST) - Two goals, two assists - Platense 2 - Talleres 4

Terem Moffi (ST) - Two goals, one assist - Monaco 0 - Nice 3

Eamonn Brophy (ST) - Two goals, two assists - Ross County 4 - Dundee United 0

Max Mata (ST) - Hat trick - UC Dublin 2 - Sligo Rovers 3
