TOTW 20 Predictions FIFA 23

Although there are not many names you would associate with top-end sides there are several usable options. Openda’s TIF, Kanes second,  a potential featured upgrade for Neres and an in-demand Militao look set to headline for TOTW 20.

Ledesma - GK - 80 > 88 OVR

Eight saves  /  Cadiz 2 - Getafe 2  /  8.2 Whoscored Rating

Cadiz are battling to survive the drop and should they manage to do so Ledesma will have played a huge role for them. The Argentine is now in line for his third IF of the game after making numerous saves to keep Cadiz in the match.

Eder Militao - CB - 84 > 87 OVR

Goal  /  Real Madrid 3 - Espanyol 1  /  7.5 Whoscored Rating

There are not many big-name players on this side and this position could have been filled by numerous options. For that reason, I went for the most exciting in Militao. The Brazilian scored one of Madrid’s goals as they came from behind to beat Espanyol.

Benjamin Pavard - CB - 79 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Munich 5 - Augsburg 3  /  Kicker POTW

It’s often the case that there is a lot of hype about a wingback moving to CB in terms of FIFA but Pavard is an exception with his low pace. Munich played out an eight-goal thriller with five going the way of the hosts while two of those came from Pavard himself.

Kyle Walker-Peters - RB - 78 > 86 OVR

Clean sheet  /  Man United 0 - Southampton 0  /  8 Sky Rating

After a Casemiro red card occurred it gave Southampton hope and while they still had to defend at times they were rather unfortunate not to snatch it. KWP looked impressive at both ends with only the woodwork denying him of the decider.

Domenico Berardi - RW - 84 > 88 OVR

Goal and assist  /  Roma 3 - Sassuolo 4  / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating

Lauriente was the obvious candidate this week but with a recent inclusion into Fantasy FUT I can see him getting snubbed. With Sassuolo coming out on top of a seven-goal thriller I still expect an inclusion though and with Berardi matching Luriente’s match rating it wouldn't be a shock for the Italian to make the cut.

Adrien Rabiot - CM - 80 > 86 OVR

Two goals  /  Juventus 4 - Sampdoria 2  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

Having now won four of their last five matches Juventus are only two points short of Europen positions despite their point deduction. Rabiot starred during their latest match scoring twice as they beat Sampdoria 4-2

David Neres - CAM - 79 > 86 OVR

Two goals  /  Maritmo 0 - Benfica 3  /  8 Abola Rating

Benfica got back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win away at Maritmo. Neres who was playing centrally stood out scoring two of their three and could be in line for the additional featured upgrade making him very usable indeed.

Xavi Simons - RM - 73 > 84 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  PSV 5 - Cambuur 2  /  8.5 VI Rating

Many predictions have Veerman for his three assists and while that could happen, Simons was named Dutch player of the week it would make more sense for Simons to be included. Both were fantastic though as PSV cruised to a 5-2 win.

Lois Openda - ST - 75 > 88 OVR

Three goals, one assist  /  Clermont 0 - Lens 4  /  9 L’equipe Rating

Openda is the real deal, the young Belgian continues to excel for Lens this season and now looks set to receive his third IF of the year. That is after he was involved in four goals for Lens on Sunday, scoring three himself and providing the assist on the other.

Harry Kane - ST - 89 > 91 OVR

Two goals  /  Tottenham 3 - Nottingham Forest 1  /  8 Sky Rating

There were a couple of Tottenham options with both Kane and Forster making their claims. Kane for me has to be the favourite though after his two goals helped secure Tottenham all three points with the English striker going on to receive MOTM.

Iago Aspas - 85 > 88 OVR

Two goals  /  Celta Vigo 3 - Vallecano 0  /  8.5 Whoscored Rating

Javi Galan once again excelled for Vigo but with the defender featuring in last week's side, my decision for the IF was made easy. Aspas now looks set to pick up his first IF of the season having scored two of Vigo’s three goals on Saturday.

Substitutes

Bartlomiej Dragowski - GK - 75 > 83 OVR

Six saves  /  Spezia 2 - Inter 1  /  8 Gazzetta Rating

Spezia shocked Inter Milan on Friday night with a 2-1 win. Although there was no clean sheet to boast, Dragowski still made numerous impressive saves and was the difference between the two sides on the night. An outstanding 8-match rating will likely result in his IF.

Youssouf Ndayishimiye - CB - 72 > 83 OVR

One goal  /  Nantes 2 - Nice 2  / 8 L’equipe Rating

Had Ndayishimye not picked up an IF early in the season he would have been a perfect candidate for the featured upgrade, now playing his football in France. He still looks to be a decent cheap defender though and after receiving an 8 for his part in Nice’s draw the IF is likely.

Rolando Mandragora - CM - 75 > 83 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Cremonese 0 - Fiorentina 2  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

Cremonese have struggled to pick up points this season and Sunday was no different, with Fiorentina picking up a relatively routine 2-0 win. Mandragora directly contributed to both goals and alongside his MOTM should receive an IF.

Jean-Eudes Aholou - CM - 75 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Marseille 2 - Strasbourg 2  /  8 L’equipe Rating

Another low-rated gold now with Aholou. The Ivorian scored twice to secure an away point against a difficult Marseille side. L’equipe’s side was dominated by Lens this weekend so the few outside of Lens has a stronger chance of featuring.

Jonathan David - ST - 79 > 88 OVR

Three goals  /  Lille 3 -Lyon 3  /  8 L’equipe Rating

There were several players with a four-week gap from their most recent IF and while I almost snubbed all of them for that exact reason, David does sneak into the side. Despite this being his fourth IF with a hat trick against Lyon I simply cannot ignore the Canadian.

Denis Bouanga - ST - 75 > 85 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  LAFC 4 - New England 0  /  9.5 Sofascore Rating

Playing in a more advanced ST role Bouanga helped LAFC make it two wins from two with three goal contributions. The card looks very usable for those out there MLS sides.

Leandro Trossard - ST - 79 > 85 OVR

Three assists  /  Fulham 0 - Arsenal 3  /  9 Sky Rating

Although Trossard failed to get himself on the scoresheet he did everything but. Providing the assist on all three Arsenal goals the Belgian was pivotal to their victory. With only eleven games left of the season now Arsenal must start believing that this is their season.

Reserves

Janis Blaswich (GK)  - 3 saves, pen save and a clean sheet - Leipzig 3 - Gladbach 0

Ki-Jana Hoever (RB) - Two goals - Stoke 3 - Blackburn 2

Craig Goodwin (LM) - One goal, two assists - Newcastle Jets 2 - Adelaide 4

Caleb Wiley (LM) - Two goals, one assist - Charlotte 0 - Atlanta 3

Haji Wright (ST) - Two goals, one assist - Antalyaspor 4 - Kayserispor 0
