Raul…. Gillette… is this the best an SBC can be?

Another day another Icon SBC and this time in the form of… Raaaauuul! This card gets a fresh weak foot upgrade, outside the foot trait added and on face value looks to be incredible with decent value at 560k coins. But should you spend your coins on this card?

Starting XI

Raul was the frontman of this squad and for this review, I opted to give him the Engine chem style as I personally wanted to put more focus on boosting his Pace, Dribbling & Passing rather than his shooting and physicals as they seemed to be pretty good enough on first impression alone. Others however have also opted to go with the Hawk instead but I generally think his shooting shouldn’t take priority for boosts over other stats

In-Game Notes

+Shooting was fantastic, 5* WF upgrade worked wonders as he scored bangers on both feet.
+Dribbling was really good, he held onto the ball really well and fended off defenders regardless of only having 80 strength.
+Positioning was great, always found him pushing upfield in open space to get the ball. as well as really pressuring the opponent to get the ball back when needed.
+Crossing was surprisingly good on the card, not that you would want to use this card for crossing but was nice to see that it was good regardless of the low stat.

Pace and Passing were as you would expect on this card. I wouldn’t say they were either positive or negative, but they got the job done.

Price Tag

So this card comes in at around 560k coins. Which at first sounds like a lot. But when you take into account the amount of time you actually get to grind towards this card, it’s very easily craftable with TOTS upon us and the game being flooded with high-rated fodder. It’s worth noting as well that the upgrades through this promo haven’t been much to scream about and whilst this isn’t a massive upgrade, it’s still slightly more than the generic +1s we have been getting. Plus! The WF upgrade is always a great bonus in my eyes.

To Summarise

Usually in Ultimate Team Spain = Pain but not today. It was difficult to find a fault in this card. 560k coins is a lot compared to the prime card, which costs under 100k coins. But we’re given 13 weeks to complete this SBC and with TOTS right around the corner, this card is sure to be completed by most even if just for a fodder dump. But actually, you still get a really great item out of it. Spain also has a very sparse selection of useable attacking options so for me this is a no-brainer. Absolutely worth picking up!
