Team of the season is right around the corner. Today we are introduced to the TOTS warm-up promotion. A calm before the storm I suppose… With that we are gifted a near team of the season level card in Road to the Final, Tammy Abraham. 

This card off face value and first impression looks phenomenal. But as with any live card, it is important to consider what the future looks like for this card, But more on that later. This card is coming in at around 200k which I feel is a pretty decent value.

Starting XI

Tammy was the frontman in a 4-3-3 formation for this review. I had considered putting him in a two-striker formation but felt with the height and physicality of this card, he would be better suited as the lone striker and with the likes of Mbappe and Di Maria making runs for him. The team felt unstoppable. I went with the engine chem style for this card which felt like the clear option as it gave a fair boost to his Pace, Passing and Dribbling. Worth noting this card also comes with a plethora of new traits which include Finesse Shot, Outside the Foot and Flair Passes.

In-Game Notes

+Shooting was fantastic but sometimes felt slow to take the shot off in high-pressure situations.
+Positioning was great, he always pushed out into open space and found over-the-top balls worked wonders with him
+Pace was good as you would expect but it is a shame we’re not back in the lengthy meta from the start of the game cycle.
+Strength worked really well as he held off pressure from opponents often
-Passing was pretty poor which was surprising considering the 92 short passing stat
-Felt quite slow when trying to dribble around opponents

Price Tag

This card is coming in at around 200k coins. It is worth noting that recent upgrade SBCs have inflated the price of this card as initially, the cost was coming in at around 175k but we have seen the cost of this SBC rise with the release of the current upgrade SBCs. So with that in mind, is this good value? In general, I want to say yes it is, the card has a chance of getting a WF upgrade as they come against Leverkusen, which will be quite the even matchup with both teams having a good chance to come out on top. 
But importantly, Team of the Season is right around the corner. There are going to be a lot of high-rated cards coming so you have to ask yourself is this card worth sinking coins and/or fodder into with so much to be released?

To Summarise

This card is massively liked by the community coming in at a whopping 90% upvotes. Perhaps this comes from the fact it is just one squad to craft with so much repeatable content out at the moment. If you aren’t saving your packs right now then this is probably a great one for you to put excess fodder into. But the SBC expires right before TOTS starts, so for me, I would want to say hold onto your coins as it’s quite likely this card just won’t have longevity in your squads. If this card fits and suits your team, then absolutely pull the trigger as he is a viable option upfront but be cautious that he may end up replaced in a few weeks.
