Rico Lewis Shows Us His Ultimate Team

What are Manchester City players doing when they’re not busy winning Premier League trophies? Playing FIFA Ultimate Team of course! We asked Rico Lewis to show us which players he’s using currently in FUT and spoiler alert - It’s a very good team!

Goalkeeper and Defence

GK - Marc-André ter Stegen (94)

He might be gearing up for a Champions League final but that hasn’t stopped Rico playing FIFA this week, adding La Liga TOTS ter Stegen to what will prove to be a very stacked team. The German shot stopper has ket 25 clean sheets this season earning him a well deserved TOTS and a place in Rico’s lineup.

RWB - Jeremie Frimpong (92)

The first outfielder is a former Manchester City academy player, just like Lewis and is Bayer Leverkusen wingback Jeremie Frimpong. The Dutchman is one of three TOTS FUT Champions cards in his team, proving Rico is just as good at FIFA as he is at football.

CB - Aymeric Laporte (92)

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Lewis has some of his Manchester City teammates in his Ultimate Team, they help him out in real life and in FIFA too! Flashback Aymeric Laporte is the first of many Manchester City players to feature and isn’t even the last in the back three.

CB - Lucio (90)

His defence only gets stronger with the inclusion of Lucio alongside Laporte although it is just the World Cup version and not the Trophy Titan. Lucio is the only hero card in the team which means luckily for his opponents, no Al Owairan up top!

CB - Nathan Aké (91)

Another Manchester City centre back features in Nathan Ake and yet another FUT Champions red card. Aké has been one of the best defenders in the league this season and rightfully earned his place in the Community Team of the Season.

LWB - Alphonso Davies (92)

He completes the defence with a Bayern Munich left back but doesn’t continue the Man City theme with Joao Cancelo, but opted for TOTS Alphonso Davies. This rapid back 5 is one that any FIFA player would be proud of and Rico’s team only gets better from here.

Midfield

CM - Joshua Kimmich (96)

The first midfielder is the highest rated player in the team so far and it’s TOTS Joshua Kimmich. RB to CDM is a move that Kimmich made earlier in career and one which Lewis has made this season with ease. Bundesliga Team of the Season was very helpful for Rico as there’s still one more Bayern Munich player to feature.

CM - Kevin De Bruyne (97)

Kevin De Bruyne is not only a star in Rico’s real life team but also his Ultimate Team. After featuring in a 2-1 win over Leeds, Lewis went home to play FUT Champs over PL TOTS weekend and was rewarded with a 97 red KDB, if only we were all this lucky!

CAM - Johan Cruyff (91)

Johan Cruyff enters the team at CAM and is surprisingly the only Icon card to feature in his team, but I suppose if you’re only going to have one Icon in the team then Cruyff certainly isn’t a bad shout. There could be some link between Cruyff coaching Guardiola and now Guardiola coaching Lewis but realistically we think Cruyff is in the team because of how good he is on FIFA.

Attack

ST - Robert Lewandowski (97)

No Erling Haaland but Rico settled for the second best striker in the world with Team of the Season Lewandowski. He could unfortunately only get Lewa on 2 chem but with 99 base shooting we can’t help but think that shouldn’t be an issue.

ST - Sadio Mane (95)

Lewis finishes off his team by pairing one former Bayern Munich striker with a current Bayern Munich striker as TOTS Moments Sadio Mane rounds off this 7,000,000 coin team in spectacular fashion.

We can’t fault any aspect of Rico’s team and we’d definitely be scared coming up against it but there is just one thing we’re hoping to see added in EA Sports FC, which is his own card! Whether that be the standard (hopefully gold) card or a 99 Pro Player card we’d love to see either in game next year.

Which footballers’ team would you like to see next?
