After what feels like a pretty long first week of the Futties Promo, we walk into Week 2 with the hopes of better things to come. I mean, surely it can only go up from here, right? Well, that seems to be the case because so far we have been flooded with content for the day!

A pretty decent-looking Futties Team 2 has been released and I can’t help but dream of getting that Futties Yaya Toure in my squad. Here’s hoping the pack weight will be better on these cards. Even if it just means they are at least available on the market.

In SBC content today we have a lot of juicy Upgrade SBCs, of which we have been screaming out for so massive props to EA on that one! Alongside that however, we also have another Futties SBC in the form of Rodrygo!

I’ll admit I was highly expecting to see this SBC quite heavily downvoted but it seems to be quite the opposite. Reason being here that the price of this SBC seems to keep rising too which I find very strange. At the time of completion, the SBC was valued at around 815,000 coins. At the time of writing this, it’s risen to 940,000 coins! But I believe as more and more packs are opened, especially with Weekend League Rewards, the SBC should come back down and sit around 850,000 coins.

So yeah, pretty expensive this one. But for me, it’s trying to understand whether or not that’s a good price. Looking at other RW options there isn’t a huge amount of META options so this makes him a real viable/ desirable option. But sinking 850-900k into an SBC is a little tough for me.

Late into the game I want to start using a lot of different players that I haven’t used much this year so for these games Rodrygo was serving the ball to R9 with some good Links also there alongside them…
But these three upfront felt fantastic. Rodrygo often ran like there was no tomorrow and served goals on a platter to R9!

How did he perform in-game?

+ Pace is brilliant on this card, he feels so fast especially when using knock-on sprinting as he absolutely leaves defenders in the dust
+ Dribbling is also fantastic on this card, he is so sharp when it comes to moving with the ball
/ Positioning was a bit inconsistent, most of the time he makes great wide runs but found he falls back a lot when I need him
/ Shooting was another one that was very inconsistent. I found many great runs foiled by him not being able to get the ball into the back of the net. It’s worth noting also, that I found very often he would take shots with his left foot. Fine for a card that has a 5* Weak Foot but it did throw me off. 
- Strength wasn’t great which is an obvious one as he has 60 strength, but it was clear in-game that he stood no chance against anyone with decent strength

Rodrygo - Cop or Flop?

I don’t want to sit on the fence with this one. But I do believe there is room to argue that this card could be both a Cop and a Flop.

As always the big one for me is the price tag. It’s been so a while since we’ve had an SBC release that came at this price that also isn’t some sort of Icon item. It’s tough for me to ever say sink this amount of coins into an SBC because there is always the chance that this card gets replaced and you will never see those coins in return.

But on the flip side, we are at the end of the game cycle and as mentioned earlier, this is probably one of the best RW options in the game right now. So if he fits into your team and you don’t see him leaving then he probably is a cop for you!

But for me I just don’t see him being enough to justify changing my entire team around. So for me, this SBC is going to be a Flop based on Price alone but if you have the facilities to complete this SBC and he will remain in your starting 11 for the remainder of the game cycle then he will be one to complete!

Verdict = FLOP

… What a COPout am I right?
