We are back for the second set of FIFA 22 player reviews and it can only go up from here now that we have a baseline for what to expect from different types of players. With that in mind, I couldn’t wait to get started on this review as it appears that small, pacey players are not the only option in this year's version of the game. Erling Haaland was borderline unusable in FIFA 21, which is ridiculous considering how amazing the Norwegian has performed in recent years. But in FIFA 22 it has felt different and based on Haaland’s constant place in the popular players list I was sure this review would produce some magic in the end. It was 15 matches again (with one early rage quit and one free win) and this time the challenge took us into Division Rivals and the FUT Champions Playoffs. It was clear that the ENGINE chemistry style would do the trick and even more clear that Haaland would line up as the left striker in my 4-2-2-2 formation across the weekend. Haaland was the clutch performer all weekend long in the following squad:
This card is very similar in terms of quality to Dembélé who we reviewed last weekend … except the two OP options get to those ratings in many different ways. While Dembélé is an all-action two footed quick-strike weapon… Haaland was more of a broad-chested barreling cannon that could mix it up with some of the most physical defenders in the game. Regardless of how they got there, the results were the same… and the goal contribution totals eerily similar.
Main Statistic – Shooting
Shooting Rating: 8.5/10
Weak Foot: ★★★
Haaland has some absolutely mouth watering base shooting statistics and is certainly a big reason for his FIFA popularity. Much like the man himself in real life, this card managed some classy goals when set up on his favorite left foot. The 89 POSITIONING helped the big man find space in those highly congested areas in and around the box… while the 94 FINISHING & 94 SHOT POWER combined beautifully to create the venom required to beat the demons in between the sticks so far this year. Again, it was 14 goals in “15” matches and I just feel that until keepers are patched… a goal a game will be the benchmark for separating the good from the bad strikers. The 5 assists were a nice added bonus and overall I couldn’t have been happier with how Haaland operated in attacking positions. Honestly, this would have been closer to a 9.5/10 or even perfect if it were not for the 3 STAR WEAK FOOT that ultimately put a damper on this card's quality in the box.
Main Attribute - Height
Physical Rating: 8.5/10
Height: 194cm | 6’4
Body Type: Unique
There is currently zero space in and around the box in FIFA 22 and it got even worse as I entered into the FUT Champions Playoffs. Honestly, it was a sweatfest that I was expecting, but didn’t truly think it would get to the levels I witnessed. However, I was quite happy to have the unique body type of Haaland that allowed him to reach his 88 ACCELERATION & 99 SPRINT SPEED.. while also still allowing his 93 STRENGTH to impose his will on would be challengers. All I can say is that I hope the usefulness of these types of players remains throughout the game and truly makes it an “Ultimate Team” experience.
Value/Coins & Good vs. Bad
Value/Coins Rating: 4/5
Good vs Bad Rating: 5/5
For 50k I don’t know that you can go wrong with this card… the 80 AGILITY & 82 BALANCE combined with the 88 DRIBBLING was certainly enough to make the big man dance on the ball… and I think a few of the goals in the video do a lot of justice to just how smooth the movement can be with this card. The 82 SHORT PASSING felt sharp and accurate allowing for some intricate link up play as we tried to break down the walls of defence built before us.
Truthfully the main issue remains the 3 STAR WEAK FOOT here. Yes, Haaland can make up for some of this with how potent that left foot can be… the 87 LONG SHOTS was certainly enough to score some of those extremely effective long distance finesse shots. But in the end, the lack of results on the right was disappointing and it has to be said that EA really sold Haaland short with that rating. The other major issue is the 3 STAR SKILLS which will certainly leave a lot to be desired for those that can pull off some of the more difficult moves in the game.
Closing Words
With the Bundesliga currently feeling like the OP playground for cheap beasts, it is no wonder that a card like Haaland has been so popular. Add that to the already growing real life fan base of this goal machine and you have a recipe for seeing this card a lot over the coming weeks. For me, I would just add that it is certainly not just hype that is seeing this card skyrocket in popularity… There is a lot of substance to back that up as well. The connection with an OP option like Emre Can is not hurting matters either (what a card that is). So with that, I would chalk this card up to the “definitely should try” list and if you need a link, Emre Can is a fantastic budget connection as well. The two Dortmund men played a big part in the push through Champions Playoffs, with Haaland scoring some crucial goals along the way… a must try. Hoping you are all safe and well. Cheers for reading.
This man is an absolute beast 20 goals and 3 assists in 7 games. He does not miss, blast it at the keeper and it's in, left foot or right foot, doesn't matter. He also has better dribbling than I thought he would have. My go to striker in FIFA 22.

Skills, but you don't need skills when using this kind of player, pass it to him and shoot.
When I packed Haaland I was extremely eager because I'm a fanboy and I really wanted to try him but then a feeling of dread came upon me when I remembered his height and his agility. As I expected he is good at shooting, his positioning is excellent, but of course he is a truck of a man. I think Haaland is the type of card you need to know how to use correctly. Do not be sad when he looses the ball, doesn't run as fast as you want him...basically don't have high expectations from him because he is a card that you need to have patience with. He will score goals and be good for you if you just don't expect a Neymar level of a card. Have faith in his abilities and have fun.
Thank you and remember to have fun.
Shooting 8.5/10 = Of course his shooting is excellent but his weak foot makes him a very limited striker.
Pace 7.5/10 = He will outpace anyone but because of his dribbling and height, he takes time to maximize his pace on long runs. So you really should be careful how you sprint with him
Physical 9/10 = That is of course where Haaland shines, because his physical stats he is crazy, even though he can be slow, his physical stats are helping him to get through tough defenders in a long run. For example when a defender bullies you from your back when you run straight, well Haaland will kind of push him off and it really helps.
Passing 8/10 = You'll be surprised but I had more assists with him than goals. Pretty decent passer I shall say, so don't believe anyone who says he's a bad passer.
Defending 7/10 = Because of his High/High work rates, he surely comes to help the midfield very often. But I suggest you guys to make him a "stay forward" striker. Because of his agility and height he really needs to be ahead during long passes, in order for him to not get caught up quickly by defenders.
Dribbling 7/10 = A truck but can still turn and react. A slow scoring machine as I would say. But to be honest with you guys, slap a hunter on him cause he really needs that acceleration boost. The fact that he goes from 72 balance to 82, won't change him into Neymar, so please I can only encourage you try him with a hunter even if it seems stupid
I was really hyped for this player, was watching few videos and he was looking sick, after i bought him my nightmares began. This dude is very very clunky, misses a lot of chances on his WF, his left is really clinical, long shoots are really good /but his finess shots are not that good/, after few games i released that he's not for me, i like to do few skill moves, dribble pass defenders and ets., once he gets the ball inside the box, and there is defender/s agains him you have to pass asap, otherwise you will lose the ball on most of the situations /even if you hold L2/, he is moving heavy no matter what you do.
Long Shots outside the post and 1:1 vs keeper with his left foot are 80-90% goals
He's fast enough, to outrun enemy defenders
Strenght is on point
L stick dribling is very very heavy
His Right foot misses quite a lot
No 4* WF and no 4* SM
He's coming too often to defend, even you use stay forward tactics
Everyone needs to try Haaland at some point this year. Stick an engine on him, get rid of a little bit of his clunkiness (which is the only real issue with him), get him to 99 pace and send balls through to him. If he gets in behind, you've already scored a goal. Hold down L2 or LB when St Juste comes up your ass, Haaland will muscle pace whore CBs come flying at you. L1 and R1 together and the keeper has no chance. I've never been someone that has one main goal scorer, its always shared around, but this guy easily gets >1 goal a game. Not to mention he's 6'4", driven headers with him are OP. However, if you're doing anything except a normal shot, leave it to his left foot. The 3* WF can cause some issues, but its no big deal. Pair him with Emre Can and maybe Coman in a 4-3-3 and the rest of the team can be any other league, he's not hard to link. Seriously, give him a go he's a hell of a lot of fun.
-He's the flash
-Shots that create new assholes
-Destroys pacewhore CB's with his strength
-Corners with him are broken
-Sexy running style and in game face
-You can sing Haaland Haaland when he scores
-3* WF (no big deal)
-Can be clunky, avoid trying to dribble in a crowded box
I played 12 Division Rivals matches with Haaland and he destroys defenders on a daily basis, he gets the ball, runs into the defenders, and pushes them away, the card is broken, I play him alongside Malen in a 442, they are my ST Duo and Haaland is not the one you wanna dribble around with, he isn't the best on the ball, he is more of a pass and go striker. I packed him in a 2 Players Pack so i don't know if he is worth the money, but he is surely the striker that will give the opposing defenders nightmares. But you have to know how to play him.

I had been using Harland up until recently and I can say just how unreal he is. I had been playing Harland in a 4-2-2-2 formation as a left striker in both rivals and fut champs. I found that he is one of the best finishers and all round shooters in the game, he can score from any angle in the box. He’s weak foot leaves more to be desired but he is still useable dispute this. Haaland is incredibly strong on the ball and wins most of his headers. I found him very effective from set pieces as his big frame and good strength led to him scoring many goals from corners. I stopped using haaland recently as I have decided to use my packed mbappe instead but I would recommend picking him up for his cheap price. He’s great value for money at around 40k. The one negative about haaland is his dribbling. On the ball he feels quite sluggish but his pace makes up for it.
This guy is amazing but you need to learn to use him, first of all I want to say that in 30 games he have 0.85 goals from corner per game its like every game im scoring 1 crazy haaland header from corner. I have never seen something like this and he have 69 Heading Accuracy xD.
I used him on a deffensive 442 with Engine and 30 games 34 goals 14 assists. I'm not used to have high scoring games, and my strikers are used to have like 20 games 14 goals.
Just run with the wingers, put a good cross for Erling and its goal.
I won a lot of games 1-0 with a header from him so he is 100% game changer.
And he destroy your enemy mentally, ragequits after Haaland headers are usual xd
In resume: Play him but always with 2 strikers, him and whoever you want.
Crazy player, this is my first review after 3 years of reading them xD

I am a huge borussia dortmund fan, and i really want to try haaland in fifa 22.
After 15 games i can say: he is not worth 90k atm. Dont get me wrong his longshots, finishing and positioning is awseome, his runs are insane.
Although his acceleration is really low he feels super fast in game, the only problem i have with him is his dribbling. He feels suuuuuupeer quirky, his turn are terribly slow.
Overall i can say he is a clinical finisher and definitely great for "take the ball, pass the ball" player's, if you like dribbling and go 1v1 with defenders hes the wrong guy.
I just wanna start by saying this man is an absolute UNIT. The 2 games hes played for me hes scored 13 goals. Long shots, headers, 1v1 everything. I packed him and decided to wait to sell him since the market is a little iffy right now but im not sure if i want to sell him anymore. That's how good he is.
Yes he is clunky on the ball, but do not let that stop you from trying him.
Scores from anywhere, any time
Great Pace, will cut any defence in half
Great physical, will body anybody off the ball and hold his own
His passing isnt that bad at all (using engine chem style)
His dribbling is pretty bad, but dont dribble, just run and shoot
His weakfoot is noticeable, just make sure to shoot with his left
