I must say as my best pack pull this year and being a manchester united fan I am absolutely over the moon on packing one of my favorite players. I was lucky enough to obtain him from the Ligue 1 League SBC. Pogbas glory was however short lived coming into my second half of the weekend league games. I am a consistent rank 2 and Elite level player so my definitions of a good player are subjective. Paul pogba was a stand out player this weekend and really played as a 5* skill move gullit. I played him as a Solo CDM in a 4-1-2-1-2 narrow and he played phenomenal. His ball control and first touch are high tier icon esque. His elastico and shot cancels are snappy and aggressive yet super controlled. I wish I could have found a better card to pair him up with but he for sure made his name known on the pitch at all times. His ball deliveries were consistent and surprisingly good. I will be using this card for weeks to come and I encourage those of you who play at a high level to get this card for your main team. Thank you for reading!
Managed to pull him out of a 75+ player pick during the promo and have since played with him for 141 games in Weekend League and Elite Division. Do not use his goals or assists as an indication of the player quality because I don't often attack with my CMs in the 41212 narrow.
Pace: Slow off the mark but he's fast enough for a CM. Will never ever win a foot race.
Shooting: Good both inside and outside the box. Pretty consistent from all ranges. Likes to pop up for a back stick header every now and then which usually works.
Passing: Vision allows for some nice long balls and switches. Can play one touch and two touch pretty well which is nice to have when you use fast build up because you can access passing angles that you normally cannot.
Dribbling: He moves like an 18 wheeler. Terrible agility and balance despite what the card says. I had an engine on him for this reason and it made little to no difference. I'm convinced it's his height that makes him sluggish. He can run around the midfield past one player well enough but do not try and beat multiple defenders in close quarters. Skill moves do not improve his movement at all.
Defending: Ok when he actually wants to be in the right position. H/M makes him get lost somewhere in between attack and defence despite trying many different instructions.
Physical: Retains the ball well and can shove players around but he would often overcommit in trying to whack someone and send himself staggering. I have not had this problem with other midfielders so it is not an issue on my end. Wins most if not all aerial balls.
Overall, decent card, don't get me wrong, but stay well clear for 1.1 million coins. There are plenty of lamp posts you can buy for a fraction of the price if that is what you are looking for. IF you have a question I'll do my best to reply quickly.
