As an arsenal fan I just had to get Tommy and strong link him to future stars Emile Smith Rowe. What I found was that although he isn't a "meta" full back he still did a solid job. When playing with this card one thing that stands out straight away is his height and his physical presence. A good thing about that is that he wins most balls in the air so any backpost crosses to his side are dealt with easily. A negative about his height and physicality is when usering him it is tough to defend against players who like to dribble and skill with their wingers to cut inside. However, when shoulder to shoulder he has the physicality and the pace to deal with most players running down the wing bar the likes of an Mbappe. Surprisingly he scored two goals for me but I have to be honest the shots were super scuffed and the keeper should of saved them. Overall I found him to be a really fun card to use that did not hinder my ability to win. I cannot wait to try out his CB version next week.
I was looking for an RB with M/H workrates, as I use 4-4-2 and don't really need fullbacks to attack that much. Since I play mostly BPL and didn't have a huge budget, Tomiyasu was my choice. And it was a great one. Defensively, he is perfect. Fast and given his height and strength, can push the opponent off the ball most of the time. He also won't let an opponent score if he tries to cross the ball at the far post for a header, as he is taller than most wingers. Another great thing is his passing, combined with 5* WF. Many of my attacks started with him, as I don't like trying risky passes with CBs. He's not the best at dribbling, but at least I didn't get any stupid ideas doing some crazy tricks with defender, which would probably cause me to concede a goal even with Neymar at RB.
Like the other reviewer I am an Arsenal fan and a huge fan of Tomiyasu since he joined the club but I will try to be as unbiased as possible. After needing a RB for my Arsenal Past and Present for awhile this Tomiyasu card came out and I knew that I had to buy him. I picked him up and played him at RCB in a 3421 with Saliba and Gabriel as the other 2 CB's and he compliments them amazingly. He has the stamina to sprint down the rank flank to support Saka my RM then sweep up the back. He is never out of position and has the pace to keep up with the current strikers and just to top it off his 5 star weak foot makes it that I can cut in with him and start an attack as well.
