I needed a cheap right mid/winger to finish out my starter premier league squad and after trying out a couple of the options I tried Pepe and WOW. First off he is so big for how fast he is so most fullbacks can't push him off the ball, and his left foot shooting has been unbelievable. He feels so similar to how Robben has felt in previous fifas. He makes great runs, and if you can manage to cut in on your left his finesse is GROSS. I've played him at RW, RF, and RM in probably 5 different formations as I figure out what I like, and he has fit in every single one. I'm sure there are better wingers out there, but he felt significantly better than every premier league right midfielder not named Salah. Give this guy a chance, and you won't be disappointed. His crossing with his weak foot is fine, something I was initially concerned about but haven't had any issues. Definitely try to avoid shooting with his right if you have the choice, 2* weak foot is no joke for shooting.
So fast, not surprising but very helpful
Shooting (left foot only) - long distance specifically but obviously he's great up close
Dribbling - 4* skills and feels really agile, combined with his size it's pretty easy to beat fullbacks
Stamina - I'm not sure if it's just not an issue with this fifa, but I have him running all game and it's not been an issue for me
Weak foot shots - Just don't
Passing - His passing is FINE, but it's not what he's good at
I love pepe as a player, but on an Arsenal only team, I need an impact sub so Saka starts over him.
I also want to say, this card is fairly on point I think. But lets review how does Pepe do when he comes on.
Pace - Late game, he is quick. As the stamina on the defenders is dropping Pepe comes on and takes advantage. 88 would mean from the start probably just as usable too.
Shooting - Now, his shooting is more disappointing than I expected. Especially outside the box (or perhaps I haven't got the times finesse down just yet.) but in the box the driven off the left is amazing.
Passing - His passing is quite nice, he gets a fair few assists when he comes on.
Dribbling - His dribbling is a bit worse than I expected. But, later in games when the defenders don't react quite as quick it is not as issue at all. You can pass even the best defenders with him.
Price - 800 coins for a damn good Rare winger to start the game? Yes. Please. More of that especially if you like to cut in.
Weak foot - its bad, passing is OK but shooting is dreadful.
Defending - he is bad defensively. It's not a huge issue, but if you scrape back the lead and you want to drop back a bit you need to be careful on his side. (Not helped by Cedric behind him.)
Physical - he feels quite weak. Not much more to say, his balance and agility don't help like some players do.
I honestly cannot get over him has been a hero for me the past few years and it doesn't look like he is getting a special any time soon unless EA does anything with AFCON. However, was doing icon swaps and thought I'd see how his base stats are a lie. his long shots and finesse shots are unreal. i would really suggest people even try this card out nobody has any shooting like him. after a few games with him you will know how to use in and how to shoot. scores worldies for fun and I really do hope he gets a special. I'm in elite and this guy has scored these goals against top keepers and is hell for any left back.
