Packed this guy early in Fifa 21 and he was the best player in my team the whole year, and made him my absoulte favourite.
Was eager to use him again this year, and finally saved up to buy his baby card.
And man, I was not disappointed. I also tried out mid Del Piero which is somewhat similar style, but he didn't come close. I also have good cards like IF Mane, IF Foden and have tried different styles of strikers, but Butragueno is just his own league.
Three things stand out for Butragueño, first is his finishing. Just press shoot to score. Whether long finesse shots or close finishing, it goes in, with either foot - that five star weak foot is delicious.
Second is his movement. It is just incredibly good, by far the best I have had this year. His "medium" attacking workrate is a lie. I can sit and watch him constantly make runs into space, behind or between - intensely moving to score the whole game. No need to control his runs manually.
Third is his ball control. He is not a big skiller but his ball control and agility fits this year's game perfectly.
Movement and runs, positioning
Obviously he is fast also, but with all the quick centre backs this year it's not the most important in itself - but its important to help his positioning.
Weak (but low, lean and agile with high balance helps keep possession)
He has 80 stamina, and can lack at the end of games. It's not a huge problem because he doesn't work hard defensively, but just don't waste unnecessary sprints with him. Save him for attacking.
Passing is mediocre and you don't want to waste chemistry on boosting it either.
He cost over a million coins which is expensive. For me it was worth it because I could afford it and I just love to use him, but just looking at stats you could find 90% of his quality for 15% of his price, e.g. Son.
So i packed this guy from my base icon pack. At first i was not sure at all that was it worth it but then i came to check his price on the market and realised he might be something special. I hadn't used Butra in any fifa ultimate team i had played (fifa 20-22). I am currently in Elite division and have reached rank 1 couple times, so the opponents were as good as it gets.
I luckily had a really good place for him in my squad. My ingame lineup is 4222 and Butra played as a left striker with rttk Werner. Instructions were on default. First thing i realised was his left stick dribbling, which was the best i have used so far in this fifa. That combined with the 99 pace( from hunter) was enough to leave the likes of Kimpembe and Marquinhos behind. They are just not agile or fast enough to keep up with this guy.
Butra's shooting was exactly what i want from my strikers. Very powerful and clinical. He scores basically every chance with both feet (5 star weak foot). The bonus thing is that you can just shoot a finesse from 30 yards and it goes in. That is because of the finesse trait, which is really important in this fifa.
The weak point is the strength. Defenders can push him of the ball easily if they can get close, but this is the thing i am trying to avoid with this card. I am also a player who likes to use skill moves so 3 stars is bit of a disappointment.
Overall this card is crazy value and so fun to use. I have scored 60 goals and assisted 22 times in 40 elite division and fut champ games. I recommend him if you have the money.
