Let me start of by saying, what an upgrade, and what a card! I was lucky enough to get him from my pre-order pack and holy have i ever used someone that scores more goals. He finishes every single shot you take it's not even a joke. He "feels lengthy" in game, as in he outpaces most defenders including van dijk. His finishing is on par with Papin's Marvel card. Forlan feels like a 5* weakfoot player and isn't even clunky in game. Definitely a 10/10 player, quite unique aswell, and extremely fun to play with the jabulani with him!
Not too clunky
Headers, Vollies, you name it.
Playmaking if needed.
Pretty much nothing else but the fact he isn't lenghty.
I got him from my pre-order pack and was eager to try him out immediately as the card looked amazing. He didn't disappoint as the ex-Atletico and United Striker bagged me 25 goals in 19 games whilst also providing 14 assists. He was the total package combining amazing shooting and physicallity whilst also having better than expected dribbling. I would however reccomend the engine chemstyle to improve the dribbling and passing on the card.
Pace (Surprisingly Quick)
Physicality (It's borderline impossible to knock him off the ball)
Dribbling is actually fairly good and he feels quite agile
Long passing isn't the greatest but is useable enough.
Got him in my pre-order icon pack and have used him over the past month or so. Have used him in every game since and is a main stay for my team. If you want buy him, he's pretty much worth bang on the price. There are way more pros then cons to Forlan, as you would expect. The best thing about him is that the ball is glued to his feet while dribbling, and especially with a chem style, hes rapid as well. His passing is very good for a forward and with his high/high work rate often drops in front of defenders to receive a pass to then send it on to a forward run from a winger with good accuracy. This can some times be annoying though, especially if your waiting for him to make a run forward but he stands in front of the defenders instead, waiting for a short pass. To the little amount of cons he has, he is clinical on his strong foot but he can often miss on his weak foot, so i would stick to he strong foot if you can. I often find (especially trying to dribble around defenders) that he can be pushed off the ball quite easily especially if your coming up against more higher rated and stronger defenders.
Overall though a very good player and worth the price if you play him right.
Dribbling is very good
Can leap like a frog for headers
Is clinical on his strong foot
Can muscle off defenders while sprinting
Can pass well and is very useful for playing balls on the counter attack
Weak foot can iffy sometimes when shooting that can lead to goals that should be scored being missed or saved
With the high/high work-rate, he can sometimes refuse to make forward runs
When dribbling in close proximity to defenders, can be muscled off if opponents defenders are higher rated
Over the 575 games I've play with Forlan, he's returned with 496 goals and 295 assists. I played Forlan in both Squad battles at Legendary difficulty and in Rivals, playing between Divisions 10-3(ranking up relatively late in the game lol). I would suggest Forlan to casual players, but competitively he not worthy (Agility, balance, Sprint Type being Controlled).
I got Forlan during the World Cup Hero promo in a small pack. I was hyped as it was my first big pull since TOTS Aguero in FIFA 19 who fortunately was tradable unlike my Forlan. My first initial thoughts of Forlan was he was great. Amazing Pace, Shooting and Dribbling. However the more I played him, the more he slightly fell down on the power curve (new promo cards coming out matching or just feeling better)... he felt bad. Over the 575 games I played with him I realized myself that I preferred other cards such gold Salah, WC Baggio, WC Di Maria. His pace on a controlled feels sluggish and he turns very sluggishly. I feel above all the players I've play, Forlan tends to control the ball on the first touch poorly. He seemingly lets the ball loose in front of him far to much. None the less his shooting always stayed top notch regardless of his other stats feel fraud. I currently still play Forlan in my starting squad in a 4321 as the CM who pushes up with the attack with the other 4 attackers. I feel this best complements his High/High work rates very well.
My stats I would give Forlan on how he fells would be:
86 PAC 86 DRI <<--- ACC: 84 SPRINT SPD: 90
96 SHO 58 DEF
84 PAS 82 PHY
Overall: He's an ok card. I wouldn't ever spend the 600K PS/XB - 700k PC price tag at the moment. I feel more accurately he feels around the 250K-400K price tag. In the end if he's an emotional player for you, or just want to try his card, give him a go. In the end have fun with the players you feel you want to try most.
