My team was full of good fodder even after I have completed a few SBC, and since I was saving for baby version Pele and did not want to spend any coins on other players, this Gerrard SBC came in at a perfect time. Not gonna hide it, Stevie G is my idol, the player who made me a football and Liverpool fan!
Now I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm not a top player and not a meta skiller dude who uses the same 20 players every year. I play for fun with my own style which makes me an Div 1/ Elite Div player and 12/13 wins in WL. To save your time - Gerrard is far from meta so if you are looking for a meta midfielder this man isn't for you.
Since I'm a Next Gen Xbox player, I really enjoy using a target man single striker who can score headers and body the defenders as well as run fast enough (Lengthy) and Morientes (WC version) is the perfect choice for me the past month and a half. I have decided to try Gerrard at the Number 10 role giving him the freedom to lead my attacks. I've tried a few chemistry styles to improve his dribbling and pace so that he could feel smoother and not let me down with lost balls in every attack. Engine wasn't it, Hunter and Catalyst neither. And then I put the Marksman on him, which made him play like prime Stevie G in real life! Incredible long, short and through passes, great reactions and pretty smooth dribble, absolutely stunning shots especially long power shots. This man looked better than Abedi Pele and WW Sancho whom I tried earlier this week. 14 goals and 26(!) assists in 35 matches (15 Div 1, 20 WL). Him and Stoichkov (The next guy I'm going to write a review about) absolutely dominated almost every game winning a total of 24 games out of the 35. The good thing is Gerrard was putting the work in the defense too, tackling and intercepting balls very often. Definitely the MVP of this week and a player who is going to stay in my team for the next month or two at least.
My verdict is pretty obvious - if you're a Liverpool fan, especially if you have seen Gerrard play, he is a must get player for your team. I'm pretty sure everyone has a decent amount of fodder in his team so this SBC shouldn't be a problem to complete. If you aren't a Liverpool fan but you do rate Gerrard as a player - would really recommend to complete him. The rest can measure the pros and cons and decide whether he'll be useful for you or not.
