(A bit of completely unrelated background first...skip to next paragraph if not interested and you just want to read about the player).
Around about May/June last year, FIFA 22 was selling for £5 on the PS Store and was released as part of the Playstation Now subscription. It was around that time that TOTS had started and, just like every FIFA, this is when I started enjoying the game. Every year I play the game for 8 months hating it, and only really enjoy it the last 4 months of the cycle. So for FIFA 23, I decided not to purchase the game until TOTS started, and whilst it hadn't dropped to £5, it did drop to £17.99. In the meantime, I just played FIFA 22 Div Rivals with my end-game team, just enjoying playing FIFA. Now for my late start in FIFA 23, I've already built a very good team, and have enjoyed it for the most part. I now know there isn't much point spending £70 at release to grind a game for 8 months without having much fun...only for it all to be for nothing as all the players I grinded for become mostly obsolete by the time the game becomes fun. Plus, those first 8 months of hating the game does impact how I viewed the game...without all that time hating the game I have no lingering issues that I used to have every FIFA, and I'm actually enjoying playing the game. In fact, I've been enjoying FIFA so much, I completed 18 of the Level Up players, and saved all of their pre-upgraded cards for that perfectly expensive SBC to throw them into. And then CSI Roberto Carlos enters the game...
I completed him as soon as I saw the SBC. I was previously using Hazard as my LB, who was amazing for me, but was now the weakest player in my team, so Roberto Carlos fit right in. I felt it was a bit of a waste to leave him at LB, so I decided to reshuffle my team around, moving Acuna to LB and Carlos to RAM in a 4-2-3-1.
I've had him just over 24 hours and have already finished my 20 FUT Champs matches, getting 15 wins (my previous highest being 13 wins, but mostly getting 10/11 wins). I have not played any other games with him, so the below stats are all from FUT Champs:

First thing to note is his corners. I don't know how many of his assists were from his corners, but I think it's around 10-15. And to be honest, it should probably have been a lot more, as my players were winning so many headers from his corners, but were heading it wide or straight at the keeper a lot of the time. But his corners are so deadly.
I am terrible at free-kicks and didn't score any with him, but there were a couple of long0-range free kicks that smashed the woodwork.
He feels very fast, even more than 99 pace at times. It is such an easy out to just OTT through ball to him on the wing as he always gets to it. Or any type of pass to him. In short, he is very fast.
Even though I haven't increased his shooting stats, his shooting is generally really good, especially with 5* WF. My LAM and RAM are usually just support players who doesn't score a lot of goals, so considering Carvalho (CAM) and Werner (ST) were getting most of my goals, for Carlos to get 12 is actually amazing for me. His finishing in the box isn't perfect, and he did miss a few sitters, but for the most part he was a constant goal threat and always getting in the right positions.
And of course I tried a few long-range power shots with him, most of them being great strikes, but I only scored 1 really long range strike, with a few more from just outside the area.
His crosses are really good too. At least 5 of his assists were specifically crosses to Rafael Leao (LAM) at the back post, plus a couple to Werner.
And despite his size, he's actually pretty good at getting on the end of crosses too, though not so good at finishing them. I think I scored maybe 3 with him from crosses, but he probably had about 20 attempts, both with headers and volleys, that didn't go in.
His left-stick dribbling is the best I've used in the game, even though I've used players who appear to have better dribbling attributes than him.
And his passing in general is very good...I'd go into more detail due to this review already being quite the essay!
I unfortunately can't comment on skill moves as I'm not good enough to use them regularly.
Before yesterday, Carvalho was my favourite player, but Carlos has almost certainly overtaken him.
He's expensive, but not at all overpriced. He is the player you destroy your club to get.

This is my honest review on 97 Roberto Carlos. I played him at RCM in a 4321 with him being on balanced cover wing. Chem style used was finisher. I would not recommend him at Left Back because of how small he is.
Quickest player i have used this year
Shooting is fantastic, goes into the side netting with bags of power behind it
The passing is great and he has awesome free kicks
Dribbling is amazing, very agile and skill moves come off really nice
Defending is good for a person who dosen't have the reach of a tall player, catches up to players very quick and gets the ball almost every time a good tackle is put in
Physicals is what you would expect for someone who is 5"6 but holds off players and somehow wins some headers
Overall rating as an attacking CM: 9.25/10
Overall rating as a LB: 8.5/10 because of his height
