Out of all the Saudi transfers, this one hurt me the most. I just cant get it. Half of Europe must ve been after him considering his talent and still young age. This "taking care of the family for generations"- argument is bs. A player of his caliber was always gonna earn an amount of money that he and his family (granted he has at least 20 brain cells and reinvests some of his income) will never be able to spend. This argument only applies to players who most likely wont earn that much money during their careers (for example Khaled Narey or Robin Quaison who went there).
alot of the players who went to saudi mainly went there for the money of course but they also believe that they can help the league to have a higher ranking , last year when ronaldo came to saudi the ranking went from 66 to 48 (ronaldo only) and now after these big transfers they say that the saudi league is now ranked 15 in the world , as a saudi football fan im so proud and happy to see TOP TOP players in my league and to be honest we dont care about people crying , everybody needs to understand that we are not kidnapping the players , we pay them to play for us like everyone else
Yea I ve heard that before, your "big" teams get a crowd because they buy their fans with getting some good players into the club, fair enough. Try watching some smaller clubs play. Jordan Henderson just played a match in front of less than 1000 people with Etifaq. We get 20k + in second or third divisions in Europe, let alone in the first divisions.
