Out of all the Saudi transfers, this one hurt me the most. I just cant get it. Half of Europe must ve been after him considering his talent and still young age. This "taking care of the family for generations"- argument is bs. A player of his caliber was always gonna earn an amount of money that he and his family (granted he has at least 20 brain cells and reinvests some of his income) will never be able to spend. This argument only applies to players who most likely wont earn that much money during their careers (for example Khaled Narey or Robin Quaison who went there).

He went their to save his club (wolves), from a crushing financial situation, he could've left one season later on a complete free and gone realistically anywhere, but he chose Saudi so that his club could continue to fight this season and hopefully avoid relegation. He waited 2 years for barca, only for xavi to turn around and say actually you're not worth our money, and so he was already left in a tough spot and easily could've stayed that extra year at his club to leave on a free, but no, after already doing so much for Wolverhampton Wanderers which is a debt that can never be repaid, his last act was his most sincere and noble yet. And he will be back in Europe soon enough, couple years of being set for life in Saudi to then return at his peak? He has an extremely bright future and will always be my favourite player to ever wear my club's shirt.

I dont doubt that he is your greatest player. I absolutely loved him as well, and I am a LFC supporter. I suppose I was hoping to see him play for us, if I am being honest. I truly hope you re right with this, btw. Would help me somewhat understand this move a little bit, at least. Thanks for sharing your thought on that.
