First Icon SBC of the year and what a great one!
I've completed Becks on the week it was released and had some time to test him before heading into this weeks WL. My first impression was so good that I decided that it's worth to do a Futbin review based on what Becks will show during the WL. Hero pack forced me to use Crouch (What a positive surprise he was) so I set my team for the good old English kick & run style, exploiting Crouch insane height and Becks + Trippier incredible crosses. My favourite 4-2-2-2 formation with griezman as False 9 and Crouch a target man was the best option I had.
I played the WL on Friday (Yeah with all the rats lol) and finished with a decent (for me) 14-6 result. Just as I expected, Becks and Crouch abused my opponents simply making their duo unfair scoring so many headers and volleys. I've recorded Beckham's stats for the first 17 games (Coz last 3 games opponents completely destroyed me and I didn't have the power to try and make a comeback) and as a right attacking midfielder his stats look pretty decent - 3 goals and 18 assists. I've also calculated some other statistic and here's what it looks like:

The statistic speak for itself, so let me share my thoughts about Beckham - A top attacking midfielder, best passing in the game at the moment. There's just a few other player cards that can pass the ball from anywhere to anywhere on the pitch, long short through balls crosses double passes he's doing all of them on top level. Set pieces are just DEADLY! Every single time his corner cross or free kick led to a real threat infront of opponent's goal and half of the times ended in a real goal. When passing, his weak foot turns from 3 stars to somewhere near 5 star, rarely misplacing the target. Don't let the 75% passing accuracy fool you - It would be easily around 90 if the players around him had better attacking AI and positioning, because sometimes the best option I had is taking risky passes with Beckham because no one was getting open. Now About his shooting - It's not bad a not great. I didn't boost his shooting with the engine chem style but that wasn't really a trouble for me. I did not attempt a lot of shots with Becks, focusing on his ability to deliver the ball perfectly to other attackers. The absolute surprise for me was Beckham's dribbling and decent pace. With the engine, it feels absolutely great, he could just pick the ball and run a decent distance helping to break opponents defense and creating space for his teammates. He often managed to outrun the meta left backs in the face of Theo and Mendy while dribbling with the ball down the right wing, before crossing it to the 2 meters Crouch with the opponent just praying the ball doesn't end in the goal.
Overall, considering the price of the SBC, you're paying not just for Beckham's name but also for a very top attacking midfielder who perhaps could also play a box to box role if you boost his defense. For me, a player who prefers to try and play more passing style rather than exploiting EA mechanics and use the meta rat skill moves, Beckham is a great player that will play a massive role in my attack for the next few months (And maybe even more if EA gives us Icon evolution at some point).
