Another year, another version of the Croatian god. Modric is the best midfielder in terms of dribbling in EA FC hands down. His dribbling and passing combos are unreal. He can run for the whole game and is everywhere when you need him. He truly shines when you use him as an attacking midfielder (CAM).
Pace: I used Shadow on him, and he feels so fast and agile. 7/10
Shooting: Don't let the 77 finishing fool you. You time finesse the shot, and the ball rips a hole through the net. You don't need any shooting boost. 9/10
Passing: If you have seen him play football irl, then I don't have to make any comments on his passing. 10/10
Dribbling: With that height and lean body type, he physically floats on the pitch. You name the skill move, and he pulls it off smooth as silk. 10/10
Defending: On a shadow, he intercepts every single pass from the opponent, and his tackling is top-notch. Croatian Sensation takes your lunch money, stuffs you in a locker, and steals your girl, all before the first half is even wrapped up. 8/10
Physicality: The only downside of this card version is that he isn't physically good against tall or sturdy players. He lacks that strength and aggression (even using an anchor is useless). 5/10
A little weird but I love him as a CDM in 4231. I am sure as you all know that sprinting down the sideline is a huge thing in this game and with this mans passing and dribbling, it makes it so easy to send one of my wide cams to get through. Using him at CDM in my formation is also so great because I often don't need the extra passes so it is good for a fast counter attack. Honestly his pace and defending are okay as a CDM while using an anchor but he still feels a bit weak. I play him to cut passing lanes and play my storyline kone to be more of a man mark and it works out perfectly. Not saying he's the goat CDM or nothing but he is the glue in my formation with the tactics I use. We cannot replace him....
Passing is elite
Dribbling is elite
Pace and defense can be okay with an anchor
If using cut passing lanes tactic; he's insane at it
He's a weak kid at times
I play him at CDM stay back so he doesn't get many great shot attempts but I would imagine he's not amazing at it
I expected something special when playing Modric as it felt always before. But in FC24 his gold and this card doesnt feel anything special at all. He doesnt feel exceptional at anything, maybe except passing. His trivela treat doesnt make it much stronger outside of box. I tried him as CM in 4321 and CAM in 4231 - he is okay on CM, but horrible at CAM due to lack of finishing and pace. For CM he is slightly better because of good passing, but from defensive point of view and overall he's not good at fighting for the ball, also he losing it quite often under pressure with bad touch. Was playing him in Div 4-5
Overall there are plenty of midfildiers better and often cheaper than him.
