Hello guys and welcome to my first review of FC 24. Today it's about this 89 rated Javier Zanetti Icon card. I got this card from a recent icon pack after using his 90 rated Centurions in my team. So I sold the Centurions one and used this item in my team.

I've been using Zanetti in a CDM role in the 4-3-2-1 and as a RB in a 4-3-2-1 and currently as a RB in the 4-4-2. Personally I believe that this card is best used as a holding Dm. He doesn't have the shooting ability I would wan't on my CM or RB and lacks some pace for a wing back however his passing play is impressive and his defending is superb. Zanetti runs like a mad man with his High/High work rates and Relentless+ play style.

PACE (8/10):

As I said earlier his pace is nothing special. A bit too often I notice him being outpaced in the Right Back role to someone like Leão or Rashford. As a CDM though his pace is perfect. He always catches up in the middle however the brutal 90+ pace you need on your wing back isn't anywhere to be found.

SHOOTING (5/10):

I actually managed to score one goal with this item however his shooting is very bad. Not horrendous but very bad. If you get into a scoring opportunity with Zanetti you should look for other passing options or try to make your way around the keeper. His shooting is the main reason I recommend using him as a holding Dm so you won't need to be worried about if you can shoot with your midfielders. I think that his attacking presence is a little bit too bad for a wing back however his defensive qualities make up for it.

The "Power Shot" play style also seems pointless due to his 48 Long Shots and 71 Shot Power.

PASSING (8/10):

His short passing is very good however I'm not a big fan of his through balls due to the 80 Vision and 84 Long Passing. His crosses doesn't feel like 91 but more like 81 and I think it is because of the lack of the "Whipped Pass"/"Whipped Pass+".

DRIBBLING (7/10):

I know that he only has 2* Skill Moves however you don't need to do skills with Zanetti. Step Overs, Ball Rolls and Body Feints is enough for a CDM and his ability on the ball with small R1 touches is surprisingly good.

DEFEDNING (10/10):

Although he's not tall, his defending is perfect. The Jockey, Intercept and Anticipate play styles all have a massive increase of Zanettis defending and as a CDM he grabs everything. Javier can get the ball through a slide tackle, standing tackle or an interception.

PHYSICALITY (8/10):

The Relentless+ play style is no joke. Although Zanetti "only" has 88 Stamina this man runs up and down the pitch for 90 minutes and he will still have a full Stamina bar. The strength is surprising and he has the ability to push players of the ball, however don't expect him to body someone like Haaland, Kane or Cantona. The aggression is good and although the card says 50 Jumping he can actually win some headers.
