91 - TOTY Icon
Picked up this toty icon Zola after he dropped under 780k for a brief period. Using him in a 4-4-2 next to 91 Shevy and it balanced out Shevchenko's lack of agility. His shooting is amazing, when it wants to be. He's scored some rocket bangers, but he's also had moments where he fired it right at the keepers hand in the box with a finesse shot that almost sent my controller through the TV. Stuff like that should not be happening with a 91 rated attacker of that price, especially when a 75k 91 Benzema can finish every single thing in the box. His deadball playstyle is very handy for corner kicks and free kicks, has the same feel as pirlo which is fantastic. His dribbling and agility is really good, but he will most certainly get knocked off the ball if you don't know how to dribble and skill. He's not a toty Messi or special card Jesus that can glide past defenders just by sprinting up the pitch, you need to skill with him or play a pass & dribble technique. I found with Zola that I had a hard time rushing the ball up the pitch with him for a counter; whereas Benzema or Shevchenko had many moments for me where I was able to sprint the ball right into the box and bang one into the corner. I think it has a lot to do with Zola being 5'6". He gets bodied around by just about everybody and unfortunately doesn't have that old school Messi pace feel to him but rather like his legs are only 4 inches long. So that being said, not a solo carry the ball up the pitch player, but if you know how to use him, you can meg the defence and bang a goal in from 35 yards out no problem. Players to compare him to would be 88 Di Natale and 91 Base Henry. Di Natale feels a lot faster than Zola in game and a 3rd of the cost, Henry feeling the fastest especially with the Rapid playstyle+. So if pace is what you're after I would probably look elsewhere. Overall I think he's a very decent striker and definitely worth 780k but I would not be paying over a million for him if he ever went back up. He's very usable but in the right formation with the right team. He needs a taller more stronger striker in something like a 4-4-2 to really make him shine, he didn't do very well when I had him in a 4-3-3 with Salah and Sanchez on the wings, not enough pace and non-existent strength. If you already got someone like Mbappe, Haaland, Lewandowski, etc I think he would fit very well in your squad next to people like them.
Great Dribbling
Great passing for a striker
Great shot power and accuracy from outside the box
Deadball Playstyle+ amazing for FK and Corners
Finesse+ playstyle works very well in high-pressed situations
Does not have explosive acceleration
Very short and weak against defenders
May miss some golden opportunities in the box
