No, that's just Tobi
Borjan went from getting dumped into Slovenia (BEFORE Slovan Bratislava qualified for the Champions League) to balling it out against Ronaldo, Benezema, Neymar's teammates and Mahrez. It's a shame Borjan is no longer interested in the national team, that game against Jamaica a couple years ago really did a number on his reputation.
Probably the first good DP that Toronto FC has signed in the past 6 years instead of getting a disinterested foreign players or sacrificing a DP slot to keep an aging player who would've accepted a TAM contract.
I think I liked it better when Kent and his inevitable special cards had league links to James Tavernier and Scott Brown instead of Son Heung-Min, Thomas Muller and that Messi chap who won a few trophies with Barca and Argentina.
The Dwayne De Rosario regen if you somehow swapped him from an attacker into a keeper
It's a shame, Puig sacrificed his entire 2025 campaign just to defeat Seattle in the Western Conference Final who probably would've won the 2024 MLS Cup if he had been subbed off before assisting the winning goal for Galaxy.
Imagine telling someone in 2020 that it’s possible we might one day see Thomas Muller playing an away match at Tim Hortons Field or York Lion Stadium in the Canadian Championship (our cup competition).
The downgrades were to be expected since the ceiling for MLS has always been historically low. Just 5 years ago, the highest rated player in MLS was Carlos Vela, Higuain and Blaise Matuidi at 83-rated and the latter two had just joined Inter Miami from Juventus. You can thank Don Garber the commissioner of MLS who is still trapped in 2001 when the league nearly folded and two of their clubs folded and constantly lives in fear if a club just wants to increase the salary cap.
I'm sure David will get a much deserved upgrade when he showcases his qualities with Juventus, especially after spending the last 5 seasons with a Lille side that kept selling everyone but him and Andre
Probably one of the best big names from Europe to bring into MLS considering Son's maturity, the massive Korean population and he's only just turned 33. I know a lot of players like Shaqiri and Insigne reignited this opposition to bring in these types veterans from Europe to MLS, but I think Son might be an example of how to handle a big name signing rather then someone who just wants the money and then retire. Heck, a lot of fans keep forgetting what happened with Zlatan when Carlos Vela made that comment about his age.
He’s just a local scouse lad from Egypt
Indeed, before Bum-Kun there wasn't an Asian marquee signing because of their quality or to expand the club's brand into Asia. There are defiantly better Asian players nowadays and in recent decades, but without Bum-Kun, there never would've been an annual 99-pace Son Heung-Min.
It's a shame that Bum-Kun will probably become one of the most despised cards once Icon packs are released instead of being recognized for proving Asian football players can play abroad. Apart from North Korea's bizarre run in the 1966 World Cup, the continent was completely ignored until Frankfurt gambled on a semi-professional Asian player who only needed one season to win the UEFA Cup.
I'd throw CF Montreal's RWB; Alistar Johntson as a potential option as he scored the lone goal in Montreal's 1-0 win over New England Revolution.
I'd throw in Ricardo Pepi for his brace against Jamaica in the US' 2-0 win, probably a Silver Star reward with game-breaking pace.
