i’d love to know what is EA’s obsession with defensive gameplay. The defensive AI is so disgustingly broken to the point that ATTACKERS defend almost perfectly. You can beat a defender, make him over commit and somehow he will miraculously recover. For example I did a mcgeady spin cancel going right and exited left, the CB in question tackled to the opposite side i went but as soon as i went the other way around somehow he teleported mid tackle and took the ball. And it’s a common occurrence that defenders do things like that. But attackers can’t even run, they just stand there looking at you.

for real man. Before you could mix and match evos and make great cards that were all different (i still remember my thiago almada from last year) but the caps just make the same card over and over again, only difference is the name of the player.

perfect balanced fullback for me. Intercepts the ball and passes it into midfield with ease to start an attack.

idk how to feel about him it’s weird. One game he is incredible, doesn’t miss a chance and dribbles amazing, the next game it looks like he has beef with the post the amount of times he hits it and his dribbling feels like he is stuck to the ground.

ive used him in both and he excelled in both. But i do use him mostly at CM in a 41212 narrow

i totally understand that but the real reason of this outrage is that he just left his contract run down and the team got nothing in return for him which left the fan base with a sour taste. Players like coutinho and suarez, even mac allister at brighton extended their contracts to latter get sold to leave the team with something but trent just left. That’s how I see it

i have not used him but every time i faced him in champs he locked me up in ways i didn’t know where possible. The last game I played against him he won 9 out of 10 standing tackles, 4 out of 4 slide tackles, 7 interceptions and 5 blocks. So if you are thinking of buying him then u can use that as reason for doing it ig.

slap tiki taka + and an engine on him and you will have the best playmaker in the game. carried me through champs by his chance creation alone

guys for everyone asking if he is better than x goalkeeper, just try him and compare, because goalkeepers are just random. For someone he might be good, for others he is bad. A big example, everyone said that dreamchasers allison was trash but for me he’s been the best goalkeeper in the game.

41212 narrow, last week it was precise fluid football, today every pass option is hidden, players just stand there doing nothing

from elite div to not being able to win a game in division 3, tactics I used to get 13-2, now are just a free path way for attacks and conceding, but hey 4213 still busted so that’s cool i guess. And the defensive AI is so **** absurd at this point I don’t know how to attack without getting either crushed, mauled or intercepted

defensive AI so busted my whole team had 18 stand tackles won and 15 interceptions, while my opponents fut birthday ruben dias had 17 interceptions , as well as 12 stand tackles won on his own

I love how this game actively rewards you for not controlling your own backline, but when you control it, even if you defend perfectly the ball is just going straight back to your opponent.

it like every game is the olympics for running. No one plays football anymore just 4213 and send the wingers on a whole jorney 97 times a game and cut it back for an open goal. 20 games of champs (qualis and finals) and I played against 18 4213, 1 4411 and 1 41212 narrow. 16 of them just spammed through balls down the wing the whole ass game. I get that the gameplay is horrible but really, the same thing every game?

he was closer to a CAM than to CDM

not every evo is doable on beginner and it’s generally faster I see no harm in it, now the people that just choose a random card that isn’t and evo and doesn’t help in rush points, those I hate.

99 passing, best passing playstyles on gold, gave him CDM and deep lying playmaker ++ plus he is always good ingame so yeah, but he’ll prolly drop a bunch

I’m sorry but can EA stop turning everyone into a defensive midfileder please. Gave out a free zidane that is broken defensively, turned guti (A Playmaker) into a defensive midfielder and now they give wingers 70+ in most defensive stats and they just become defensive wingers (nwaneri is a prime example ) can intercept like a prime kante and tackle like a prime lucio

either they give a CB anticipate and intercept, a CDM intercept and pinged pass, or the give a LW Quickstep Trivela and Pinged pass, something along those lines

anticipate needs a **** nerf man. I totally get the tackling boost but for the love of christ, how the **** is it ok for a player to start a tackle inside the box and he finishes the tackle outside of the box, damn near teleporting, just because he has a racoon up his ass.

you can’t even have fun anymore in the game. I found some insanely fun attacking football tactics but what’s the point to use them if I play against a 4213 95 depth that doesn’t even let me breathe and has 7 players defending in the box. Want to use fun evolutions ? Nah even if they have 99 in every stat and every playstyle corresponding to the position, the will feel like ass. But don’t worry cause you can evo base saliba with any random evo that might not even boost his defending stats and watch him maul your whole attack alive.

90% of the games right now. You think you managed to break it down and randomly their CB tears every muscle in their leg to intercept something from the other side of the pitch

while in the premier league last season the average interceptions per game were in a range from 6 to 8, in this game defenders average 7-9 interceptions individually because of the stupid ass broken defensive AI that EA refuses to balance

loving this gameplay right now. It’s so fun how my defenders can have the ball infront of them and still miss the tackle. It’s so fun when my opponents attackers intercept every single pass. It’s so fun when everyone feels like they are stuck in mud. Game feels amazing right now IlY EA thanks for making the best fifa game ever <3

anyone has some fun tactics? No 4213, 4411 or 451. Since the gameolay is so atrocious i might as well fight some tactics that makes the game atleast 2% more enjoyable while being different

The discrepancies in this game are something else man, you are telling me that my opponent and I use the same card, on the same role, same chemistry, same chemistry style, same formation and it’s always the same, 1 plays amazing and the other one is useless. Mostly happens with goalkeepers but sometimes defenders and attackers. I was playing against someone a bit ago, we both had evolution mia hamm, my mia hamm missed sitters in front of goal (green timed) while his scored every chance she had and she even intercepted 7 passes, straight bullshit.

just lost a game because i got 2 random red cards. First red i got my CB got a pass and I was going to pass to my fullback but he got pressed very high so instead of a pass animation he threw himself to the floor and brought the attacker down, straight red, unfortunate but i dont understand why he threw himself to the floor instead of just passing the ball. The second red the attacker was glidding just outside of the box so i tackled him, won the ball cleanly, the attacker didn’t even fall, straight red, gotta love it

was winning my last champs game 4-0, completely dominating and after the 4th goal went in my players forgot how to stand. Conceded 3 goals in like 6 minutes so i did some subs and went 6-3 up again in the 73rd minute. Ended up loosing 7-6 conceding a last minute header from a corner. The 3 goals to tie the game were all rebounds and the corner, bacha jumped over havertz to score it. You cant make this **** up. Nice way to loose out on my best record. 12-3

41212 narrow with wing backs is one of the most fun formations i have used this year but playing with wingbacks is an easy way to get attacked down the wings the whole game, ig i’ll stick to 4411 with fullbacks🥲

they aren’t miles clear, it’s closer than you think. I’ve used both on different accounts and they both are good. This version is more AI ridden while the other version is a monster manual defender

look i get your point and I do try to have the most fun I can every time I play. I just hate how 1 formation can put someone in such an advantage. Like example if I play against any other formation, I enjoy the game (partially) but as soon as it’s a 4213 it just becomes war ingame just to try and get to the box🥲

composure affects every players ability to make decisions and avoid mistakes under pressure and reactions is self explanatory. With everyone running 95 line height and abusing speed boosts, if your CB is late to react to a speed boost have fun catching up and if you get high pressed while bremer has the ball, chances are he either passes it horribly and it gets intercepted due to the **** passing he has + trash reactions/composure, or he just sends it out of bounds. Just because they are “dribbling” stats it doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect defenders

The haaland example for low reactions and composure is funny because he doesnt have the intercept playstyle, not even in silver and he is still amazing so goes to show that you can survive without it 🤷‍♂️. And the other bremer has it silver so yeah

i dont understand what bs the 4213 has and how it becomes at this point an 7 back ingame because even the CAM drops back. The amounts of time i have to pass the ball between 2 players in the edge of the box until one of the defenders AI just makes him leave his position so i can finally make a play because the 2 CBs, the full backs, the CDM’s and even the CAM are inside the box by the time I have an attack, it’s so bullshit.

im in an infinite loop of loosing 1 game, dropping to div 3 and then instantly getting promoted back to div 2. I was elite 940 last season but now every division 2 lobby feels like warzone☠️

My varane started feeling sluggish and y benched him, did the jockey + bremer and i am very happy. He glides with jockey and doesnt get beaten from speed boosts because he tends to tackle quickly and the jockey helps him move. It’s a matter of perspective I feel for manual defenders the jockey+ one is better but if you are more of an AI based defender then this one suits you more🤷‍♂️.

im going to put it into perspective. If you rely on AI to bail you put everytime, you just control a CDM and wait for the broken ass AI to intercept then yeah, go for this version. If you defend manually the other version is better for you. Jockey makes him glide in the back and he can quickly put a tackle if someone tries to speedboost pass him oh and he can still intercept the ball, it’s not like having silver intercept is useless.

it’s +2 in def and +1 in physical compared to +10 in reactions and composure and +10 in passing. Also the other one has intercept in silver its not like he is lacking the playstyle

this one is better. Way better passing, dribbling (composure and reactions specially) and still has silver intercept. I rather high reactions and composure, plus higher passing (+10 of the other card) over a +2 in defeding and + 1 in physical but everything else is shocking imo🤷‍♂️

its absurd to me how wingers can tackle so perfectly but defenders have the whole ball in front of them and either break the attackers leg and get booked, or they absolutely miss the ball completely and fall over

best wingback i have used this year. Amazing overlaps to create attacks, solid tackling and jockey makes him inmaculate defending the wing running spammers. I had not scored many corners this year but with him every corner is a threat now, either as a cross or the corner going all the way in. If you are considering using him I 100% recommend

mendy if you play fullback, dimarco if you play wingback

94 zidane has no defensive playstyles but he still defends better than 90% of the dms in the game that have “good” playstyles

he has only 1 assist in 5 games and no goals which seems poor but in reality he is the perfect connection between my defence and attack. He is the perfect definition of playmaker. Not marked in the stats but a very important player for the team

5 games in a row i’m conceding a 90th minute equivalent/winner. Doesnt matter if I tackle them perfectly, if I move the goalkeeper, the ball just falls back to them and I concede.

if you are expecting a strong and commanding defensive fullback then do not do her because you will be dissatisfied. If you use wingbacks and like to have them support you in attack down the flanks, this is the card for you
