the silver league gameplay is so bad i’d rather nail myself to a wall. 70 defending players with no defensive playstyles stretch 10 meters to win tackles, everyone feels like they are stuck in mud and some defensive animations just make no sense. The difference in gameplay between the first week and today is mindblowing

after finishing the gauntlet fairly easily, went into rivals, 5 games, not one game have I had over 40% possession . My opponents end with a minimum of 37 interceptions in total, every pass is intercepted, even the wingers and strikers drop back into midfield and intercept some, **** happened to the game. 3 of the games were 0-0 until the last minutes when someone managed to get a scrappy goal.

i’ve had to restart the game 7 times already because it just freezes when im trying to build a team for the gauntlet

while my ramires (with intercept +) lets 3 passes go through him and doesn’t even attempt to intercept passes that go close to him, players like frenkie, patri, reijnders, llorente, mariona and other cards that have no defensive playstyles, but they teleport to do interceptions, damn near tear their groins to stretch in impossible ways just to intercept the ball. Am I really supposed to believe that defensive playstyles mean anything after that?

Everytime I play against him he could be in the other side of defense, then randomly he starts a tackle animation and teleports to my attacker and gets the ball. He can also tackle through walls apparently, because I can be backwards of him shielding the ball and he’ll rip it through somehow

today I played some games before uni, my team felt good, I could pass and move. Came back from uni, whole different game, can’t pass in midfield cause sissi or some random CAM apparently has intercept + and gets every ball, I aim to do a pass to my attackers feet, instead it goes directly to a defender, try to do a through ball into space, my player tries to force a pass between 2 players instead of sending the ball into the open space. Defensive animations became so busted they are glitchy, example a defender bolting forward mid stand tackle or intercepting backwards of the ball

the midfield in this game is more congested than my nose at 3 am. Like seriously it feels like passing in the middle is impossible because someone is always there and launches himself to intercept. No wonder everyone only spams through balls down the wing

just played a game where my opponent ended the game with 63 interceptions, nico williams had 9, pina had 11 and de jong had 17. Am I supposed to believe that the AI is not busted after that game?

1 game ends 1-0 with the defensive AI being unbeatable, the next game ends 8-7 with the defensive AI being non existent, I don’t even know for which outcome I should feel worse.

Got him tradeable a thought about selling him but I tried him and he is insane. ST in a 4141, False 9, every chance is either created by him or finished by him.

everytime i play against fdj, patri, reijjnders, mariona, putellas, bonmati, llorente, frimpong and even attackers like nico williams, rashford or kudus obj, I wonder if defensive playstyles mean anything, because those players have either no defensive playstyles or at the least no tackling/intercepting playstyles but they play like it.

removing keeper movement would be dumb. Im not saying i’m a great fan of it but it’s not an insanely broken mechanic or anything, if you know your opponent is prone to shooting to one side you can cover it. just wait an extra second before shooting to see if they move the goalkeeper, if they do shoot the other way, free goals

why do every like 2-3 years EA just make chemistry styles shittier. Like when I first got into UT was in fifa 21 and I remmeber shadow giving +10 pace, then went down to +8 and now its +6 and im pretty sure it was +12 before but im not 100% about that

every time I play a team that has pina it’s like she gives them a stat boost. the wingers defend, the midfielders could intercept nukes and the defenders tackle through walls

you know what EA should really fix, the fact that every single woman in the game plays 30 times above their stats. Pina, Swanson, Sophia Smith defend like they have 90+ every time, you do a shoulder barge on them and they throw your defender to the ground even if he has bruiser plus and they can out jump players that are almost a whole foot taller

I not even complaining about R1, i’m telling you from my own experience that the AI literally helped me in situations where I either overcommitted and still got the ball or intercepting passes way out of range of my players, so don’t tell me that the AI hasn’t changed

nah the first week the game was actually good, passing felt great, if you over commited defesively you got punished and if you commited to a tackle well, you were rewarded

I’m sorry but everyone saying “skill issue” to the people complaining about the patch have got to be ragebaiting. Because after patch there is no skill in the AI bailing you out everytime. Went 13-2 in champs but half of the games I felt like I only won because my defensive AI was busted, not because I deserved to win. The first WL I played I felt every game I won was deserved and every game I lost was deserved. Now the game feels like whoever’s defensive AI is more broken, will win, doesn’t if he played better or not.

Oh yeah because relying on the AI to bail you out defensively is so much skill right? And yes, I would rather cricket scores than playing a whole game of futchamps, extra time included and both teams only having a combined 3 shots. That’s absurd. I imagine you are one of those that cried the whole first week because the AI couldn’t bail you out but now you’re happy right, now that the AI defending is busted again

genuine question but who actually enjoys a defensive game? Like im sure you want to be able to enjoy attacking. Was the attacking maybe to easy and the jockey needed a buff, yeah. But now because the jockey is buffed, you can hold your CDM while jockeying and basically you have no way to attack. I rather a game end 6-5 than 1-0 because i want to have fun attacking, not sitting back and defending. If I want “realism” i’d play career mode with authentic gameplay but not ultimate team, which should be the arcade version of the game, not a version where defensive AI is insanely broken.

I agree that games mostly ending 10-12 or something like that was absurd, but now games ending 0-0 is just boring for a video game. I’d rather a game end in 5-4 than 1-0 because I play a game for fun, attacking, not to sit back and defend 15 minutes, that isn’t really fun.

yeah but to those that obly played fidget spinner fc I have no mercy, cause that was a stupid mechanic. But the same goes to the CDM defenders and now that the defending is better, CDM defending is stronger. In my opinion if they are going to buff manual defending, they have to nerf the AI.

this patch proved that the biggest problem with this game (and every fc/fifa) is the own community. The community will never agree in what they would like the game to be and they will complain about it and when certain mechanic is patched they’ll whine. Example, at the start of the year half the community cried about defending, so now they made defending OP while attacking is on the weaker side. Obviously the people that enjoyed the attacking football (not talking about fidget spinner fc) are pissed and rightfully so. But shows that the community will never agree and that will **** up the gamw

I feel like nerfing dribbling while boosting the jockey speed was a bit overkill. Like they should have done only one, not both. I’m not saying the game is unplayable but now half of the players struggle to turn while jockeying players move like they have skates on so the game feels closer to FC25 than what the game felt like the first week or two.

I always try to have a passing playstyle. Progress through midfield, find open spaces and attack those. It’s become nearly impossible the last few days but I rather that than spinning around or just pace abusing wingers so bad they have no stamina in the 60th minute

So everyone that plays fidget spinner FC says it’s because their opponent only runs around with their CDM so the AI defends. But people that run around with their CDM say that they defend like that because they opponent plays fidget spinner FC. Which one is it really?

I imagine that everyone that whined about defending being “so hard” is happy now that the game is basically defensive AI simulator. Haven’t had a game go over 3 goals scored in over 2 hours

you definitely spammed tackle and needed AI to defend for you. But no worries, the game is to your liking right now

first week if you over commited or spammed tackle you where cooked, easy counter. Now you spam tackle and even your attackers get the ball and if you over commit someone miraculously gets the ball

nah wtf is it with defensive AI in champs today!? Every single game i’ve played so far has been low scoring (not one game has gone over 3-2) and the defending is so strong you cant even leave your half. 1 game i lost, my opponent had 37 tackles won and 27 interceptions. My team had 15 tackles won only but 31 interceptions. Another game gvardiol ended the game with 17/17 defesive duels won, patri guijarro had 9 interceptions and 10 tackles. Like wtf happened

4231 imo cause in the 4411 sometimes the CMs went very high up and the midfield was just free space to drive for your opponent

jockey might be the best defesive playstyle, because everyone that has jockey plays like they have every playstyle, whether they do or don’t

honestly I never found anything bad about women being in UT, but this year is like every single woman plays 1000 times above their stats. You can have a random woman in defense, 5’9 and under, weak as hell and no defensive attributed/playstyles and she will still outperform any defender in the game, will win every header and body every attacker away.

Like the amount of times you manually cover a passing lane perfectly and the ball just goes through the player, the amount of times you time a tackle when you have the whole ball infront and somehow it goes through your legs. But don’t worry, control your cam, hover outside the box and watch the AI perform a master class. Is that really what we call “skill” now?

are defensive playstyles really as important as everyone fusses about, because the gameplay says otherwise i cant lie. Example, llorente, camavinga, de jong, all have barely any or no defensive playstyles, but ingame they are some of the best defensive players in their positions (as of now). Araujo, has every playstyle but intercept, and he is one of the best pass intercepting center backs in the game (I use him). Same with the hancko sbc, no intercept but insane interceptor. Other card i’ve used, militao, no anticipate, but he is still one of the best tacklers in the game

i love this game, has every defensive playstyle but intercept, in game he is a monster intercepter. Militao has intercept but not anticipate, but militao is an insane tackler and not so great intercepting ( for me)

I use him as a playmaker with engine and he is insane, great passing, scores when necessary, great dribbling, great off ball movement and he intercepts sometimes to help create a counter attack.

defending is so “skilled “ right now, that if I cover a passing lane perfectly the ball just ricochets back into the path of my opponents attacker, but if I control someone who is not close to the play, he will intercept the ball perfectly. Or when I go to tackle a player, tackle the ball perfectly and it either goes through his legs or just bounces back to the attacker, but if I control an attacker and hit second man press, the defender will win the ball 99/100 times, very skilled

im not talking about that, im talking about taking your CAM, slotting him between your 2 cbs and having the AI do the rest, second of all, its a lame excuse because im not talking about you trying to tackle with your midfielder, im talking about just hovering around controlling them so your defenders ACTUALLY push up on their own to get the ball and majority of the times it works. I can’t believe that after praising EA for making actually a good game, now im here complaining. The game does not even feel close to how it felt in the trial. In the trial you could play fluid football and if you over commited defensively you where punished, now passing lanes are so crowded might as well just send long balls and pray, while everyone just hovers around with an attacker while defending and the AI is impecable. Pace is non existent, 90+ pace players with speed playstyles get outpaced instantly my 50-70 pace players. Im running rodri in my midfield and he runs faster than doku

I use tactical defending, I wasn’t having problems with tackling but latelly it doesn’t matter if the ehole ball is infront, the ball just goes to the defenders legs, while my opponents strikers act like they have anticipate gold

my players could have the perfect angle to shoot on their strong foot but they decide to side foot it with their weak foot…

I love when I go to tackle and every single stand tackle I do the ball goes in between my defenders leg, but don’t worry cause my opponents striker will win every tackle no matter how far/close he is

the trial sold me a false dream, everyone in the trial actually played football but know its 7 players in the box drop back and send your wingers on a whole voyage down the wing.
