We all see our favourite content creators load up thousands of FC Points and have stacked teams on Day 1 but that’s just not realistic. Not all of us want to spend real life money on EA FC and will be building up teams from scratch. Although the top tier players will most likely be out of your price range at this stage in the game (Mbappe still at 3.3m), there are plenty of cheaper alternatives who will be able to do a job in your team. With the help of Evolutions, you’ll be able to transform some of these cards up to another level.
5. Racheal Kundananji - CFF Madrid
The Zambian striker found herself in TOTW 3 but don’t worry, her gold card is more than good enough meaning you won’t have to fork out 70,000 coins extra. The combination of 4* Skills an 5* Weak Foot is welcome on any player, let alone one with 91 pace and 87 physical, and they’re just the face card stats! If we take a deeper look at the in-games, you’ll see she has 85 finishing, 95 jumping and 91 strength.
The one downside to this card is the links, there are no other good Zambian players in UT meaning you’ll need 7 other Liga F cards to play her on full chemistry.
4. Rafa - SL Benfica
Rafa is always a nice card to use early on and this year his card has only improved on previous. The best part about this card? You can’t lose. He’s currently sitting at his minimum price range, just 300 coins over discard value. If you don’t like him you can simply discard him for a very minimal loss. We’ve finally broken the 75 shooting mark on a Rafa card which has been my biggest complaint when using him in the past. A +4 in this stat from FIFA 23 takes him to 77, and rises even further to 82 with a hunter! 4* Skills, 93 pace and 86 dribbling, you’re onto a winner with Rafa.
Once again the only issue here is links as the Portuguese League isn’t the strongest but his nation is much stronger to link than with Kundananji.
3. Jule Brand - VFL Wolfsburg
Wolfsburg winger Jule Brand comes in at 3rd place but this time I’ll be recommending the Evolved version. Her base gold is good but the +2 in the Founders Evo really takes her card to the next level. By evolving this card you can upgrade her weak foot and max it out at 5 Stars meaning she can finish on both feet with ease. The 76 shooting may initially put you off but this is dragged down by some irrelevant in game stats. 58 penalties and 60 volleys pulled the shooting down massively. She actually has 83 finishing and 83 positioning which are much more important than penalties.
The only negative is that you can’t use her if you’ve already used up your Founders Evolution or would prefer to use it elsewhere. However if you’re struggling for choice I’d highly recommend evolving Jule.
2. Timo Werner - RB Leipzig
Turbo Timo slots in at 2nd place on this list and it’s not just his gold card I’m including here. If you have the time and Evolution slot spare, then Timo is a great candidate for the Founders Evolution. He may lack the desired skill moves as he only possesses 3 Stars in that department, but he makes up for it with the weak foot. The Founders Evo increases WF by 1, taking Werner up to a 5 Star Weak Foot.
The gold card is brilliant and if you’ve already used up your Founders Evo don’t sweat, the gold will still be worth trying out. The 3 Star Skills is the only downside to this card.
Honourable Mention - Rinsola Babajide - UDG Tenerife
You can’t go wrong with this card, the only thing she costs is time. One problem I have seen people have with some of the female cards is their height and you’d presume the same would apply here as Babajide is only 5ft9, but she has a whopping 97 jumping, 94 strength and 86 heading accuracy. Crosses will be no issue with Rinsola up top. To combine with this she also has 91 pace, 4*4* and 91 agility. She’s genuinely one of the most broken cards in EA FC 24.
Despite the card being free, it does actually take quite a bit of time to unlock. This is the reason she’s just an Honourable Mention and didn’t actually make the Top 5. You need to play a minimum of 10 matches although you will unlock 2 other cards and packs along the way.
1. Ansu Fati - Brighton and Hove Albion
Ansu Fati quite obviously tops the list. We know how popular the Spaniard has been from launch as nearly every opponent I face has a version of him in their team. The Evolved Relentless Winger is much better than the gold but is much more costly. Don’t worry if you can’t afford to complete that Evolution just yet, his base gold is more than good enough if you’re on a budget. Once a hunter is applied his pace rises to 97 and has 87 finishing alongside 4 star skills and weak foot.
Links aren’t an issue as there are plenty of amazing Spaniards and Premier League cards available but there is one stat I’m slightly concerned with. 49 strength. If defenders can catch him he will more than likely get bumped off the ball but for less than 1,500 coins he can’t have been perfect!
Are there any cheap strikers I missed off the list? Who have you been using up top in EA FC? Leave your recommendations in the comments!
