Heading into the festive period we have a few nostalgic options in Ramos, Ben Yedder and Milinkovic-Savic but outside of those it looks rather bleak. Hopefully, your Christmas turns out better than this potential side.
Guglielmo Vicario - GK - 82 > 85 OVR
Seven saves / Tottenham 2 - Everton 1 / 8 Sky Rating
Goalkeepers were few and far between with only two coming to mind. Vicario edges out Schmeichel for me with the former having the league preferential while the Belgian Pro League rarely obtains more than one. Despite conceding Vicario made several top saves to help Tottenham towards all three points.
William Saliba - CB - 83> 86 OVR
MOTM / Liverpool 1 - Arsenal 1 / 9 Sky Rating
It’s back-to-back draws for Liverpool and also potentially back-to-back opposing CB IF’s. That is if Saliba manages to sneak into TOTW 15. The Frenchman was awarded an impressive 9/10 for his performance during the draw.
Sergio Ramos - CB - 83 > 87 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Granada 0 - Sevilla 3 / 8.5 Sofascore Rating
This is the first of likely many special items for Sergio Ramos after his late inclusion into the game. The Spaniard scored the first of Sevilla’s goals alongside being a rock at the back as they secured a 3-0 away win over Grenada.
Lucas Vazquez - RB - 81 > 84 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Aalves 0 - Real Madrid 1 / 8.4 Sofascore Rating
With Girona slipping up to Betis it allowed Madrid to take control and go to the top of the division for Christmas, albeit on GD. Vazquez scored the only goal of the game as they took home all three points via a 1-0 win.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - LM - 87 > 88 OVR
Hat trick / Al-Hilal 7 - Abha 0 / 9.9 Sofascore Rating
Al-Hilal has recorded some huge wins this season so when facing Abha, a side near the bottom of the division it was always likely to be a goal fest. It didn’t disappoint with the hosts scoring seven without reply. A few candidates appeared for an IF but none better than SMS who scored three from CDM.
Thomas Muller - CAM - 84 > 86 OVR
Two assists / Wolfsburg 1 - Munich 2 / 2 Kicker Rating
Munich’s season has been strong despite not topping the table as it stands. Having lost only one match this season. Their latest three points came with a narrow 2-1 win over Wolfsburg, from which Muller provided both assists.
Sergi Roberto - CM - 80 > 84 OVR
Two goals / Barcelona 3 - Almeria 2 / 9 Sofascore Rating
It's safe to say that Barcelona’s form has dipped in recent times. The Spanish club is now seven points behind league leaders after failing to win in three before this fixture. Sergi Roberto was the unlikely hero scoring twice from the centre of the park.
Tarem Moffi - RW - 77 > 84 OVR
Two goals / Nice 2 - Lens 0 / 9 Sofascore Rating
Moffi was not on the field long enough for an official L’equipe rating however his impact should be more than enough for a spot in TOTW 15. The Nigerian came off the bench in the 73rd minute before scoring in both the 76th and 78th to secure a 2-0 win.
Dominic Solanke - ST - 75 > 86 OVR
Hat trick / Forest 2 - Bournemouth 3 / 10 Sky Rating
Solanke is now in double figures for the season after his hat trick this weekend, which for a Bournemouth side only halfway through the season is simply incredible. He never showed up for Liverpool but his talent is now clear for all to see.
Wissam Ben Yedder - ST - 83 > 86 OVR
Two goals / Toulouse 1 - Monaco 2 / 8.6 Sofascore Rating
It feels strange being in December without a Ben Yedder card to rave about. The popular Frenchman could be set to receive his first though, after scoring both Monaco goals during a hard-fought 2-1 away win.
Patrik Schick - ST - 83 > 87 OVR
Hat trick / Leverkusen 4 - Bochum 0 / 1 Kicker Rating
Leverkusen enter the winter break with their unbeaten record intact. Having won 16 and drawn 3 they sit at the top of the table with no signs of slowing down. Schick was the main man during their latest triumph, scoring three of their four.
Dani Rodriguez - CAM - 78 > 83 OVR
Goal and two assists / Mallorca 3 - Osasuna 2 / 9.1 Sofascore Rating
With three goal contributions, Rodriguez becomes a prime candidate for this week's side. Mallorca are now creating some distance between themselves and the relegation zone making it no losses in five matches now.
Matteo Guendouzi - CM - 79 > 83 OVR
One goal / Empoli 0 - Lazio 2 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
With limited fixtures being played the requirements were always going to be reduced to make this side. Guendouzi could easily benefit from that having scored once in Lazio’s 2-0 away win. He was amongst the highest-rated players in the gameweek for Serie A.
Antonio Candreva - RM - 79 > 83 OVR
One goal, one assist / Salernitana 2 - AC Milan 2 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
The title is practically out of AC Milan's hands now after more points dropped this weekend. It was bottom-placed Salernitana who shocked the Italian giants, holding them to a 2-2 draw with Candreva doing the damage.
Kamory Doumbia - CAM - 72 > 83 OVR
Four goals / Brest 4 - Lorient 0 / 9 L’equipe Rating
Doumbia had a performance of a lifetime with the Mali youngster scoring all four Brest goals as they continue to excel in Ligue 1. Will they maintain a Champions League position only time will tell but Doumbia will 100% feature in this side.
Ihlas Bebou - ST - 77 > 83 OVR
Two goals / Hoffenheim 3 - Darmstadt 3 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
An enthralling 3-3 draw was played out before the winter break in Germany with both Hoffenheim and Darmstadt sharing the points. Bebou scored twice and went on to be named MOTM with a strong 1.5-kicker rating.
Igor Thiago - ST - 69 > 83 OVR
Hat trick and assist / Molenbeek 1 - Club Brugge 6 / 9.9 Sofascore Rating
Igor Thiago is getting a bit of a reputation for himself after performing for Ludogorets last season and now reaching 19 goals for Brugge during his debut campaign. His three this week helped lead a dominant display.
Michy Batshuayi - ST - 77 > 83 OVR
Hat trick / Kayserispor 3 - Fenerbache 4 / 8.8 Sofascore Rating
The Turkish division resumed this week after several controversies within the league. Fans were treated to a seven-goal thriller and despite coming out on top Fenebache ended the match with two late red cards for good measure. Batshuayi claimed the headlines though with his hat trick deciding the game.
