FC 24 Team of The Week 25 Predictions

TOTW 25 has the potential to go down as one of the best of the game. That is after Foden’s Manchester Derby double, Osimhens midweek treble, an eight-goal thriller in Saudi Arabia and Messi performing in Inter Miami’s ex-Barcelona contingent.

Alphonse Areola - GK - 78 > 87 OVR

Nine saves and penalty save  /  Everton 1 - West Ham 3  /  9 Sky Rating

Everton will feel hard done by despite losing 3-1 after Areola’s superb performance between the sticks denied the Toffee’s time and time again. The Frenchman's resilience resulted in West Ham snatching the match with two late goals.

Jonathan Clauss - RB - 81 > 87 OVR

One goal  /  Clermont 1 - Marseille 5  /  8 L’equipe Rating

Clauss has been a favourite among the community for several seasons now and the Frenchman has not been short of a special item this year either. This would be the fourth for the Marseille RB and after L’equipe awarded him MOTM with an 8/10 I expect it to happen.

Matteo Darmian - RWB - 80 > 87 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Inter 4 - Atalanta 0  /  7 Gazzetta Rating

We have seen EA start to disregard players promotional items with featured upgrades deeming them useless on several occasions. This could be another with Darmian opening the scoring for Inter during a convincing 4-0 home win. The Italian received the joint-highest rating from the match, making him a favourite to slot into the defence.

Emma Koivisto - RWB - 80 > 87 OVR

Two goals  /  Aston Villa (W) 1 - Liverpool (W) 4  /  9.2 Sofascore Rating

There were a lot of goals over the weekend during the WSL fixtures. One of those was Liverpool’s away trip to Villa which produced five goals. Although Koivisto and co failed to keep their clean sheet with two goals to her name I would expect the Finnish fullback to be included.

Phil Foden - RM - 85 > 89 OVR

Two goals  /  Man City 3 - Man United 1  /  9 Sky Rating

United went into the break leading 1-0 after a stunning Marcus Rashford goal. City entered the second meaning business though. A Foden brace before a Haaland strike resulted in a 3-1 win. Foden was the stand-out player once again and could be in line for a TIF despite a four-week gap from his recent IF.

Galeno - LM - 78 > 87 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Porto 5 - Benfica 0  /  9 Sofascore Rating

Porto may well be out of the title race in Portugal but this result plays a huge role in deciding the title. Benfica have dramatically dropped in recent weeks allowing Sporting the upper hand. A convincing defeat away at Porto will further dampen their confidence. Galeno was superb throughout providing two goals and one assist.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - CM - 86 > 89 OVR

Two assists  /  Al-Hilal 3 - Al-Ittihad 1  /  8.7 Sofascore Rating

Al-Hilal took another step closer to lifting the Saudi title with a 3-1 home win over Al-Ittihad. Two assists from Milinkovic-Savic were enough for the Serbian to be named MOTM and in turn, potentially receive his third IF of the game.

Lionel Messi - RW - 90 > 91 OVR

Two goals  /  Inter Miami 5 - Orlando 0  /  9.1 Sofascore Rating

With Luis Suarez not in the game, who would have been the selected IF without that factor, Messi is in a strong position to receive his first IF of the year. Inter Miami currently lead the division with seven points from a possible nine. The Barcelona legends are in full force and Messi is pulling the strings

Alexander Sorloth - ST - 79 > 88 OVR

Hat trick  /  Villarreal 5 - Granada 1  /  8.7 Sofascore Rating

This IF could go one of two ways with both Sorloth and Parejo making their mark on the match. The former scored three goals while the latter managed three assists. Usually, EA opts for the goals in this situation so I feel that Sorloth is the safer pick here.

Anderson Talisca - ST - 81 > 88 OVR

Three goals  /  Al-Nassr 4 - Al-Hazem 4  /  9.3 Sofascore Rating

Al-Nassr and Al-Hazem played out a game for the neutrals with eight goals being evenly shared among the two. While Al-Nassr will be disappointed with the draw I would still expect Talisca to pick up his third IF of the game come Wednesday. That is after the Brazilian scored three of his side's goals during the spectacle.

Victor Osimhen - ST - 88 > 90 OVR

Three goals  /  Sassuolo 1 - Napoli 6  /  8.5 Gazzetta Rating

Both Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia ran riot as Napoli stormed to a 6-1 away win over Sassuolo. With Gazzetta awarding the Nigerian an 8.5 match rating the IF is obvious and while both should probably get in it's been a long time since EA opted to do that thus making it unlikely.

Greg Taylor - LB - 75 > 85 OVR

One goal, two assists  /  Celtic 7 - Dundee FC 1  /  8.7 Sofascore Rating

Celtic ran riot while hosting Dundee on Wednesday, managing to score seven goals. Bizarrely there were seven different goalscorers, making the IF decision significantly more difficult to make. Taylor, who was playing LB, was involved in three of their goals, making him my prime candidate for TOTW 25.

Sara Dabritz - CM - 84 > 87 OVR

Two goals  /  Dijon (W) 1 - Lyon (W) 3  /  9.6 Sofascore Rating

Lyon is one of the few sides in the female game this year that seemingly get preferential treatment from EA with sixteen special items coming for the club so far. That could be seventeen come Wednesday after a Dabritz brace helped Lyon towards a 3-1 away win

Harry Wilson - LM - 75 > 86 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Fulham 3 - Brighton 0  /  9 Sky Rating

Two contributions from LM were enough for Fulham’s Harry Wilson to be named MOTM with a high match rating of nine. The Welshman should now be in line for his SIF with a respectable-looking card.

Tabitha Chawinga - LW - 81 > 86 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  PSG (W) 4 - Le Havre (W) 0  /  9.4 Sofascore Rating

Chawinga has been snubbed on a couple of occasions this season already but the PSG forward continues to impress for the side. Her latest performance saw two goals and an assist while playing just behind the striker. EA opted for the same role from Ayew last week to be an LW thus I have followed suit.

Ermedin Demirovic - ST - 75 > 85 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Darmstadt 0 - Augsburg 6  /  Kicker POTW

Augsburg are not known for their free-scoring but managed six against hapless Darmstadt this weekend. Demirovic excelled, scoring twice and assisting another. Kicker awarded him player of the week for his performance securing his spot in this side.

Kaj Sierhuis - ST - 69 > 85 OVR

Three goals, two assists  /  Fortuna 5 - Excelsior 2  /  VI POTW

By far the easiest inclusion of the week comes from the Eredivisie, with Sierhuis putting in a performance to remember. Involved in all five of Fortuna’s goals the Dutchman will likely never repeat this feat.

Ragnar Ache - ST - 70 > 85 OVR

Hat trick  /  Rostock 0 - Kaiserslautern 3  /  1 Kicker Rating

The second division from the main five has seen a decrease in awarded IF’s since the increase to 85 base rating on the IF’s. I do believe they can still be included though and Ragnar Ache’s hat trick will put that to the test. The German received POTW for the second division in Germany for his treble on Saturday.
