FC 25 97 Futties van de Ven Player Review! Cop or Flop

Futties is finally here and we are pumped for it! 99 Mbappe and Yamal lead the front from Futties team one alongside a 99 Pele item! One of my favourite things about futties though, is the plethora of items in packs and there are well over 150 special cards in packs right now. That and the exchanges/ upgrade SBCs make this absolutely silly season!

Of course, with all this fodder dropping into packs, it’s fair to say all SBCs are getting heavily targeted and the SBC released for Day 1 of Futties is likely going to be the partner to that 99 Season Pass Van Dijk item and it is none other than Futties Van De Ven.

That’s right, Mickey is here as a Futties SBC and this card looks absolutely phenomenal. 97-rated which is a +1 on that Europa League RTTF item he was given after Spurs won their respective tournament. However, the main thing we are here for is the fourth additional playstyle in Anticipate+

Chemstyle is pretty clear here. Whack an Anchor on him and absolutely juice out that Pace and Defending. I just feel like this man, alongside VVD will complement each other and create an absolute wall of a defence.

11 segments here to complete with a price tag of 500k. I think it’s fair to say we would expect to see some big SBCs in Futties and it just doesn’t matter at this point. Fodder is now infinitely available to us so it all comes down to whether or not the card performs.

How did he perform in-game?

+ This man might easily be the fastest CB in the game. He’s incredibly quick and noticeably so when fighting a counterattack. He hunts his man down with haste.

+ Physically, he is near enough perfect. 99 strength allows him to win almost every single battle for the ball. His aggression as well is worth noting because he is an absolute animal when it comes to taking on opposing attackers.

+ Alongside those Physicals, his defending is quite literally perfect. Most impressive was his interceptions. Maxed out in the stat alongside the intercept playstyle is a cheat code.

+ Passing and dribbling are not usually something you would see a lot in a centre back. Whilst it didn’t “wow”, he certainly is levels above others in his position. Controls the ball well and is able to clear the ball upfield towards his attacking teammates.

Van De Ven - Cop or Flop?

I feel that this SBC is going to be up there with one of the most common we can expect to come up against. Don’t get me wrong, this is day one and i’m certain there will be plenty more CBs to come. On top of that, we also still have a fair few Shapeshifters & Team of the Season cards that are almost on par with this item. But something about this VDV card feels special.

I am very much expecting to see him and Van Dijk in most people’s squads toward the end of the year and if my Saliba doesn’t see some Evo’s anytime soon he might just be in my squad too. It’s early but if like me you are grinding through upgrade SBCs, get this one completed asap!
